Cute, repetitive, weird fun

This Furby is much larger and expressive than the models of earlier years. Eyes, 'beak', and feet are all done in a slightly moldable plastic that allows for great expression and give this toy a pleasantly freaky look. Absolutely adorable.With some of the same features as the last models the same (like feeding, petting, light/dark recognition, etc) there has also been some vast improvements. Mainly, the Furby takes a voice command to "go to sleep" thus shutting itself off, and doesn't take 15 minutes of covering up the light sensor to shut down. I've also never had it "wake up" in the middle of the night on its own and scare me ;-) Unlike the last ones.New Furby reacts to certain voice commands this time around. If you tell him to dance, he dances. You can tell him to play a game, tell jokes and stories, etc. Cute. Kids seem to find it fascinating ;-)Furby learns more English as time goes on, and it will give instructions, talk and tell stories in English after some playing with. Keeping the Furbish dictionary sheet is a must, though! Another cute feature added is the ability to talk to the Furby IN Furbish. Once in this mode, commands can be given in the Furbish language. Pretty cute.The repetitive nature of this toy, like most interactive toys, is its only downfall. I have still only heard one story and two jokes, and played one game. He's starting to speak mostly English, but still tells the same story every time... I have not been around it long enough to see if this changes, but... it seems sort of tedious and kids definately drift away from the toy after a while.Still very cute, and very cute technology for kids (and adults...)

Furby Fun!!!

I recieved two Furby's for my birthday! They are so much fun. They really do talk to each other, too! They are easy to understand and when I tell them to go to sleep, off they go to dream land snoring their little heads off.

I bought this gray furby for my son who loves real life animals and the cute things they do. He loves this new Furby I got him, it's UNREAL how adorable and life like this thing is. It's facial expressions are incredible and the child prompts given in the instruction book to say to the Furby are clear and precise. Starting with the command "HEY FURBY," and then a command, the Furby responds with either a song and dance, a joke, a story, or complains that he's hungry. He eats from a spoon and makes slurping noises, I think I even heard him burp? My son's favorite game to play is Red Light Green Light, a popular gym game of start running/walking and stop in place. He's very fun to play with. The voice recognition seems to work well, sometimes though he doesn't respond. The directions say to voice your command within 24 inches of the toy, it seems to be pretty sensitive even further away. The directions also mention the more you talk to it the more English it picks up, I'll believe it when I hear it...my son hasn't stop talking to it ALL DAY! This is a super cute, very well constructed toy, no loose ends or parts, I think it'll last through my kids, maybe even grandkids. I never was into the original Furby because I heard they really didn't work that well, but I'm impressed with this 2005 manufactured Furby and the creativity it's unleashed within my child.RECOMMENDED!
