The Designer Fly-Weight Transport Chair is from Drive Medical, one of the country's fastest growing manufactures of Durable Medical Equipment. The all aluminum frame chair weighs only 19 lbs., which is 30% less than a traditional transport chair, while maintaining a weight capacity of 300 lbs. The seat width is 17". The deluxe back release allows the back to fold down for easy storage and transport. The footrests swing away and are easily removed. The chair comes with a seat belt for added safety. Maintenance free composite 8" wheels are on the front and rear making it easy to maneuver the chair. There is a convenient carry pocket in the back for storage of personal items. The upholstery is soft plush tan plaid nylon. The frame is black. The chair is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Perfect for small person

Brand new, folds easily, sets up in a jiffy, fits in any car trunk for transporting. Very lightweight, great price. I'm a small person and the chair works just great for me. It may not be suitable for a very heavy person.

We LOVE Mom's new transport chair. It has opened the door to so many activities that she could no longer do, because of a bad back. Mom is 81 and we used to do so much on our weekly days together, but when her back got so severe she couldn't even walk from the parking lot to the mall entrance, our activities were cut off. She was so down about it, but with the arrival of her new chair, we are running around everywhere. Because it is so light weight, we don't even have to seek out elevators. We simply go to the escalator, she gets on, I quickly fold up her chair and away we go. I can hold it under my arm with one hand. Yet, it is sturdy enough that she feels safe and comfortable when she is in it. Many people have commented on the pretty fabric also and it thrills her. We zoom around all over the place and are making lots of great memories of our adventures again. It fits perfectly into the trunk of her little Toyota and we love how slender it is because it can fit down some of the small aisles in specialty shops and restaurants. We cannot say enough wonderful things about her new chair. We give it ten stars out of five!!!! Thanks for making it possible for my Mom to enjoy going out again, without any pain!!

Attractive & Lite

I was looking forward to receive this wheelchair for my father and I was not disappointed from the moment I opened the box. I was eager to try it to see if it was easy to maneuver around. YES thumbs up. However, on carpet, it's heavier to push than on smooth surface where it glides like a breeze. The price is very reasonable. It looks well-constructed and was much lighter at only 19 lbs. Quite a noticeable weight difference from the old 34 lb chair dad has. It was easy to fold, unfold, carry and load in the trunk of my car. It takes up less space too. I am keeping it in my trunk and use the old one at home. This way, we don't have to bother loading & unloading all the time when we go out with dad. On carpeted floors, Dad's old chair pushed better. I love how this new chair comes in two width seat sizes: 19" or 17". Dad is slim so I chose the 17" width seat for him. It was perfect. It looks attractive and classy. People thought it was a Burberry wheelchair! Dad is a fashionista now. LOL! I'm taking dad on a cruise this October 2010 and I will be using this for sure. I highly recommend this chair.
