Great rocking chair

I purchased this chair more than 2 months ago and we use it a minimum of 15min twice a day (so 30min total at the minimum) to rock my 20months old son (who is about 33 lbs). I rock my son for nap and my husband rocvks him for bedtime. My husband is 220lbs plus my son 33, that is more than 250lbs on that chair. It is still in perfect condition. We have not had to fix/screw anything since we have assembled it two months ago.A reviewer mentioned she had to sand a piece. Indeed it was kind of hard to have the arm rest piece fit into the seat. According to the instructions, you first have to put the arm rest into the back of the chair and then put the whole thing into the seat. It did not work this way because of the way the arm rests are built. so I did not follow the instructions exactly and I first put the arm rest in to the seat, and then I put the back of the chair onto the seat and tried to have everything fit together. I must say I had to push hard but in the end I did it and everything is in place and I havent sanded any piece.It looks great in my son's room (much nicer than a glider I think, it gives a more traditional look!)Also, regarding the reviewer saying it is not very comfortable, I think this is not true. of course this is a wooden chair so it can't be comfortable as a glider which is made of soft fabric. I use the seat pillow of the Brentwood Haitian rocker set [...] and it is now much better for sitting long period of times. It is a bit slippery if you dont use a pillow underneath.And I use the white Medela nursing stool [...] as well, it is necessary if your feet dont touch the floor and if you want to be comfortbale while rocking your baby.]Update March 2012: We've been using this chair since October 2011 and we haven't had to fix anything! So I can say it is very sturdy. However when we rock, there is now a "noise" (same noise that you hear when you walk on old wooden steps), probably because of some piece of wood "moving" or swollen by humidity or something like this. This is a bit annoying a times to constantly hear this noise while rocking my son.. so I just rock very clowly and usually it does not make noise! But overall I still like the chair very much!

Pretty good

I bought this chair for my 2 year old's room b/c we were expecting a new baby & I needed the nice glider to come out of her room. I put it together by myself at 9 months pregnant, so that part was pretty easy. It's not super comfortable, but works ok for the limited use we will use it for.

Buy something else

I've had this chair for 2 months now. It broke after the first month. Contacted KidKraft and customer service was good and sent me replacement parts. However, when the replacement parts arrived, part of the hardware was defective and I could not reassemble the chair. Contacted KidKraft again and they sent a hardware packet... of the wrong parts. I was able to reassemble the chair cobbling together hardware from the broken parts and the new hardware. However, I was forced to remove the defective hardware part and that area remains unsupported with no hardware at all in the chair. I hope that it is okay enough to last through baby's first year. If I had to do over again, I would drive for an hour to buy Amish.

Keep looking - you get what you pay for

Very disappointing.... 3 hours to assemble... and even with a plumber friend had a hard time getting the LP gas connections safely connected. Overall this unit seems a bit cheap and flimsy -- wouldn't buy this again if I had the chance to do it over. Keep looking - there's got to be a better unit on the market!update: March 2008: It's now been a year since we bought this and every time we turn it on I feel a little guilty about this review. Yes, assembly was a pain, but once we got it together, it's worked flawlessly since and puts out great heat. Amazon won't let me upgrade this to 3 or 4 stars, but I did want to add that this has been a good unit.Update: April 2013... NOW I FEEL REALLY GUILTY!!! This little unit has put up with a lot of abuse (besides my original review)... it's always outside in the rain and the wind... it's gotten banged up by contractors...dropped... you name it... and it just keeps going. I fired it up tonight for the first time in a year... and it instantly lit, after about 3 minutes of bleeding the pilot... amazing!!!I definitely take back my prior review... 5 stars....it's lasted 5 years, taken a lot of abuse, and still works like a champ.

Great Patio Heaters!

These outdoor heaters are amazing. I ordered three of these from Amazon to heat a large patio with outdoor seating area and dining area and they do a fantastic job. I read the reviews here and noted the assembly warnings but these units were not difficult to put together and I didn't encounter any of the frustrations of the earlier reviewers - and based on what they were saying in their reviews it looks like the manufacturer read the reviews and changed the assembly requirements.The first unit took about two hours to unpack and assemble but I was taking my time and making sure I did everything right the first time. The second unit took about an hour and the third about 45 minutes. I have a decent tool set but am only average on the assembly skills and so I expect others will be able to put these together faster.The units put out a really good amount of heat and once they have been on for 5 to 10 minutes we have to turn them down because they are just too hot - which is an outstanding result. My in laws were visiting and after experiencing an outdoor dinner and breakfast they were hooked and planning on ordering one of the these for themselves.We had dinner at a local restaurant later in the week we got these and we ate outdoors under their heatlamps and ... you guessed it - they had the same exact heat lamps as these. Since then I have seen these same units in a number of restaurants around town that have outdoor dining. You know if the local restaurants are using them then they must be sturdy and longlasting.I highly recommend these units to anyone that wants to heat their patios and are looking for a high quality unit that puts out a good amount of heat.

Typical Chinese Quality

After reading mixed reviews, I took a leap of faith on this patio heater. Unfortunately, that leap fell a bit short. Upon receiving the heater, I noticed that the box was double-taped. This usually indicates either a) the manufacturer is taking an extra step to ensure secure packaging; or b) the product was opened, re-taped, and returned. There were no other shipping labels or evidence of label removal, so I assumed it was double-taped from the factory.I opened the box and removed all of the pieces; when I got to the bottom I realized that all of the assembly hardware was strewn about, but the package the hardware was supposed to be in was there (albeit empty) along with the instructions. It appeared as though everything was present.Hoping for the best, I began assembly and soon realized what I was up against. The instructions are horrible and could easily be re-written, as several of the individual steps are actually multiple procedures that must be done sequentially (you'll figure it out as you go, make sure your ratchet set is reversible). These steps are demonstrated by archaic line drawings that have no orienting details whatsoever, and I estimate a good half hour of my two-hour assembly was wasted due to this oversight. In hindsight, one could probably complete the entire assembly of this product in 30-45 minutes with accurate instructions. After a lot of head-scratching, I finally reached the last few steps, which involve assembling the dome at the top. This was when the Chinese engineering really came to light. Nothing lined up, nothing fit, and I almost sent this flimsy piece of trash Frisbee-like into the recycling bin. Some of the hardware for the dome assembly is supposed to be pre-attached, and at this point I realized that a few of the screws required for assembly were missing. After a trip to the hardware store, a bit of drilling, a bit of bending, a lot of twisting, and the creation of a few new curse words, I was finally able to complete this fine modern marvel.I am still unsure if this was a returned item or not, but unless you have a lot of patience, are moderately handy, and enjoy a challenge created by a complete dearth of quality control and engineering, I suggest looking at another heater. On a positive note, it does work reasonably well when it lights (often requires the use of a lighter to get the pilot going). We'll see how long it lasts, but I would happily spend double the price for a quality unit with respectable fit and finish.

Best Thing Since Caller ID Invented!

I've hit the jackpot with this jumbo caller id! I bought at least three other products that said they were extra large displays only to find I still had to be in close proximity to see the information. I have placed the Bright ID'er in my bedroom, high on a shelf across the room and can clearly see who is trying to get me out of my warm covers, fumbling for my glasses just to find out it's an unsolicited, unwanted caller. Again it's the best product I've ever bought online.

Love It! A tool, not just a gadget. Worth the price to me.

This product does EXACTLY what I had hoped. It allows me to see the caller ID from WAY ACROSS THE ROOM. Person's name and phone number are even EASIER to read than photo may lead you to think.The Bright ID'er also means I don't have to hunt down my reading glasses to check out the Caller ID. That had always been a problem before.Yes, it's a lot of money for this convenience. And...if I had a great big house I'd struggle with WHERE to put it. (Or whether to buy 3 or 4 of them.) But in my apartment, it's made Caller ID really WORK for me for the first time EVER. If I'm cooking in my kitchen, I can look up and instantly see the call is from a solicitor - or from my husband or kids. No need to run to the phone to check the caller ID.Another advantage: it shows how many calls you've received since you last checked. I'm not great about checking the caller ID, or for messages. (Again, having to fumble for reading glasses, etc.) Now, it's easy to do so.

Bright ID'er Failed after only 15 months

My wife and I liked this caller ID as it was easily read across the room. However, about 2 1/2 months after the warranty period it failed and would only display the "Bright ID'er" logo in the call area. I contacted the manufacturer who simply stated they would be happy to sell me a new one! I don't throw good money after bad. This product should have provided years of service, not 15 months. I simply won't purchase another product made by this manufacturer.

Good table for casual players

I bought this table 3 weeks ago and we have a lot of fun with it so far. I'm begginer, I have never really played foosball seriously and I don't think I will ever do that on a tournament level. This is nice looking, sturdy, heavy table. Hand painted players look awesome. There is one additional set of counter balanced players for more serious foosballers however I like hand painted one. Cup holders are extreme useful addition during our parties (12 oz beer fits well), my friends love it. People look more often to visit us now :) I just ordered Tornado balls ($17 for set of 8), I did not like original white balls provided in the package. The instruction is very bad, however online carrom youtube video helps to put all parts together. Rods move easily, bearings are good, playing field is reasonable leveled, chrome accents make it nice looking table in our kitchen (I have big kitchen so I put it there, chrome accents matches my appliances). I believe you will not get much better for $600. If you are just casual player, you can buy it and you will be happy (I give it 5 stars if used by casual player). If you are serious player, you attend tournaments, probably you should look for something else, however something more expensive (I saw many pro players saying this is just a toy). I think this table is perfect match for me and I'm fully satisfied.

The best family fun...EVER!

As our children have aged, they become more distant. As the economy continues to affect our lifestyle more often than not, we have had to settle for limiting costly family activities. Although there was not much under the tree this year there was one big box...the Carrom Foosball table. It has been the best investment and family building experience. The teenagers in the house challange the adults and the adults don't have to keep wondering where the teenagers are. They are in our house with their friends. What more could we ask for!!! It is truly fun for all and a great family bonding experience.

Love This Foosball Table

We chose this table after doing a good bit of research. I have never played Foosball, but I wanted to get something durable and as close to the coin-operated models as I could find. If you do much research you will find that foosball enthusiasts believe the coin-operated tables are the only way to go. I did not have a thousand dollars to spend on foosball, so coin-operated was out of the question. I found a dedicated foosball website that listed Carrom as one of the only cheaper models that they could vouch for. Then I had to choose which model. Amazon sells several Carrom tables. The difference in cost rests on a few items- wooden handles, upgrade on men, cup holders, and metal feet that can help level the table. You will pay around $100 dollars more(at least when I purchased)so we chose this 525 signature model.My 17 yo son put this together with help from his younger siblings. The table is made of heavy manufactured board. You will need at least two people as one can hold in place while the other places the screws. You need to have your battery-operated drill charged and ready to go. It will take you forever to put this together with just a screwdriver.We have played on this table for about a month now. We love it! There are a few dead spots- not a big deal to us foosball new-comers but I thought I should mention it. The upgraded men are black and orange and have a larger foot. I like the feel of the wooden handles. We have chosen to use the official rules of "no spinning". I think the game is more fun and the table will last longer as a result- though I have to remind the neighbor kids from time to time- we don't spin in our house! :)

I have mine about 9 yrs

I have the very same hairdryer purchased in the UK for £60 in 2003. I'm about to relocate to the US, so am weighing up whether to pack up my old faithful to take along or do I purchase a new one State-side. $292 is approx £190!!! With shipping and all I'll still pay significantly less. I just need to get a transformer. So my mind is made up.Only con is the loudness of the dryer. Otherwise it has served me well for a very long time. And yes, I'm a regular user of this item. I'm sure i can get quite a few more years out of it....

Niles speakers Rock!

Just wanted to take a moment to complement these fine outdoor speakers. I was on my new patio the other night listening to various music and relaxing. These speakers are very versatile and sound as good as my Boston Acoustics speakers I have indoors. Admittedly they have been babied and only sit outside during spring and summer weather... But they deliver excellent sound quality for both low volume and high volume listening. Of course if you love bass you might have to go upscale a bit..but for me I am very pleased with the RS6s..

Awesome Outdoor Sound

If you're searching for a great pair of outdoor speakers, look no further. Have had these Niles Audio rock speakers for over a year and they sound as good as the day I got them despite sitting outside all winter and through many heavy rain storms. The sound range is amazing with high highs and low lows across rock, jazz, and classical music. They are neither tinny or hollow sounding, and bass comes through pretty well even at low volumes. These speakers blend in great with the landscape, with many vistors to our patio never even noticing where the great sound is coming from. Since it's hard to test outdoor speakers in an audio store, take my word for it -- you won't be disappointed!

I will never neglect to check open box items again!-perfect condition!Our local music store wanted $475 for this same brand-same speaker-with open box price on amazon we paid less than half that!awesome quality-even in rain and snow-attractive on the patio. This is a high quality good name brand speaker. I never purchase anything without checking on amazon-and they always have the best price!Amazon ROCKS!!!
