Product Description

AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. Good experince

I had to replace a broken Original intake, the cost was quite expensive, so I choose to upgrade to a cold air intake system instead, it was about the same money anyway. My choice to try the AEM was due to their reputation and other users comments. It has been 5 months, and I am very happy with my intake.I have not seen any improvement in MPG, and not a hugh difference in accelleration either, but in does not choke or spudder ever, and was pretty easy to install.Ford Focus 02 ZTS auto

Product Description

AEM’s V2 intake systems use a patented dual chamber design that maximizes horsepower and torque - producing even more power that our own Cold Air systems. On a dyno graph, the area under the power band (or power curve) represents the amount of effort that an engine is producing. The larger the overall area under the curve, the more power your engine is making. The AEM V2 utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves to produce the largest area under the curve of any intake system on the market. These sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the entire rpm range and are what enables the V2 to outperform even our own Cold Air systems. We have found that inlet length plays a vital role in the power production of V2 systems and not all V2 induction systems relocate the filter outside of the engine compartment. In these cases, we performed extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. I installed this intake in my 2001 honda accord vtec. It sounds amazing I have no exhaust so all you hear is vtec. Sounds way better than cheap ebay intakes. Spending a little bit more is worth it. Sounds great looks great and is easy to install.

A worthy upgrade

Fits a '99 Acura Integra GS (the RED AEM CAI is almost exactly the same color as the R505-P Integra paint - just FYI).The picture Amazon has is slightly different from the actual 21-403R model. The AEM sticker is yellow, the hose connecting to the throttle body is all black (no AEM logo), as well as the intake filter (black AEM logo at its top).This was my first performance upgrade and it was relatively straightforward. Some online suggestion stated it can be installed within an hour but for me it took half a day (The Integra's have a slightly more complicated stock intake than other cars). The AEM intake DOES fit almost ideally, though the support tab that attaches the intake to the fender wall was a little shorter than I had wanted it to be (but that's just nitpicking).I did notice a slight increase in the low RPM range, with the intake really kicking past the 3000 mark. The engine sounds also kick in at this point, starting of with a "whistle" and ending with a "growl." Impressive! This is a nice upgrade for higher-revving engines so you can enjoy the engine sound for a while longer :)In the original packaging (which came partially opened), I was missing the instructions manual and the AEM stickers. A 5 minute phone call to AEM and emailing them a copy of the Amazon receipt took care of it to get the stickers sent over to me within a week's time (free of charge of course).

very nice

this intake is very nice .. it was an easy install just awkward getting around the ac lines..it gave my car a very nice sound in higher rpm around 4000rpm. the only thing is how low it sets, makes me nervous going through puddles. im scared im going to suck up a bunch of water and ruin the motor....

Excellent, but purchase last

Buy this ONLY if you have no intentions of changing out your air/fuel intake manifold. It fit beautifully on my stock manifold, but didn't fit at all when I changed to a perfomance manifold. Great part for light modification, but might prove useless if you start to really modify your engine.

Doesn't fit a 1997 Civic perfectly.

In order to install you have to undo a couple bolts on the strut tower and replace them, and even then the whole thing is crooked and pulls on the rubber stopper causing it to crack.

This intake is truly spectacular!! once you get into higher revs you'll tingle!! This is really worth the money.. I am not a mechanic, yet I installed this! All you need is a screw driver and a 10 mm wrench(depending on your car)

A excellent pump.

I bought this exact same pump from Menards 8 years ago when we built our pond.This pump was never shut off except to clean the pond. It ran for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for 8 years until the bearings finally gave out. That is why I bought another one just like it. A excellent pump for the money. Thank you Little Giant for a wonderful well made product.

GREAT Pump

WONDERFUL pump. I previously had the pump just under this one. It was given to me by a friend who used it for two years ... we used the pump for an additional 3 years before it broke. BUT, the ONLY reason it went out was because during the night a storm hit, put a huge hole in liner, water ran out and pump ran dry. This pump is SO much better, the flow is EXCELLENT!!!!! Very, very, very worth the little extra cash. Strongly recommend!!
