The Manfrotto Fig Rig camera-stabilizing system was the brainchild of film director Mike Figgis, who employed the idea on many of his award-winning films. Unbelievable

As an independent and very low budget filmmaker, I needed a handheld rig that would allow for steady and smooth camera work, would be affordable, and would be versatile enough to use in several applications. I stumble across the Fig Rig while researching handheld rigs. I was very skeptical on how well the Fig Rig would work, considering it is a giant steering wheel. When I went to the photo store to purchase (on spec) the Fig Rig, I laughed out loud and exclaimed "what a piece of crap, this won't work." To my glee, it is friggin' phenomenal. It is lightweight and easy to use. Most importantly it is effective. You can actually run with this thing and produce a usable image comparable to and even better than lightweight Steadycams and FlowCams. Love it love it love it!Oh by the way, I rigged a Panasonic AG-DVX100 to the rig. Took about 20 seconds to balance and off you go. Not sure how it would work with a heavier camera such as the Cannon XL-1.

The Fig Rig is Excellent!!

I'm not a DP myself, but I bought it for our film after watching the horror film [REC]. We even talked with the DP of that film, Pablo Rosso, who recommended it. We're shooting with the Panasonic HVX200 just as they did, and while I just threw my Sony VX2000 on it to try it out, it was amazing!! Unbelievably lightwieght - - makes you almost wonder where that money is going - - but in the end, it's worth it.The stability it provides, by having both arms extended, versus have your arms tucked in to your body, holding a shoulder cam is amazing. Even with the weight of the camera, it felt lighter than normal. Definately worth it, to have a cheaper "steadicam", and avoid the shaky-cam look.

I ultimately decided to go with the figrig over any type of stabalizing arm because of its ability to shoot sideways or upside down. Extremely easy to handle, and it didn't require any construction. It's delivered ready to go.

Pump

Is working well after two years, even had it running in below freezing temps and partially submerged too (neither of which you are supposed to do) and it didn't break. My pond is 1-1.5 feet deep and about 8 ft by 6 ft with a 4 foot waterfall and this pump gives a nice fountain and waterfall flow. It is much better than the one I had which came with the liner in a kit. Easy to disassemble and clean too. It recommnds removing cleaning and bringing inside in the winter which I do. Does not get clogged either even with mounds of leaves in the pond. Was even running when the pond was iced over and the fountain actu8ally made a hole in the ice. Good product and supposedly attaches easily to a filter which I still have to get. It has a prefilter (cage) around the pump though which I guess is why it doesn't clog.

Great Pond Pump

This pump has fucntioned perfectly since I purchased it. The case design has kept it running much longer between cleanings then my previous pump. My previous pump's intake would get stopped up in under a week which meant I was shutting it off atleast twice a week to clean. The Laguna Power Jet's case design has a much larger surface area then any other pump I've seen for water draw. I've had it over a month and have not had to stop it and clean it out yet. The water flow has not decreased at all. However, I have to rinse the fountain head about every week and a half but this does not require the pump to be shut off if your not removing the pump out of the water.I would recommend this pond pump to anyone.

This is a GREAT pump at a very good price

I have a split level pond, roughly 650 gallons on the lower level, 350 gallons on the upper level, covering an area of roughly 150 square feet. I purchased the Danner 02650 pump to replace my damaged Flotec model FP0S2300X 2300 GPH pump, as I could not find that same pump as a replacement.PROs:*Cost - $40-60 less than similar pumps I researched.*Fairly easy to install*Very long 20 ft electrical cord*The unit came with a back flow check valve and 1.5 inch fitting*Very quiet pump*Screen around the inflow area keeps out small objects*Output and suction was almost too much, so much water flowed through that initially pond debris clogged the filter on a daily basis.CONs:* None I could determine after 1 1/2 monthsTHE BOTTOM LINE:*Great price*Installation was a breeze*Accelerated filter cleanup is necessary depending on pond size

Great water output.

First let me say this is running a filterfall in my 2000 gallon pond and when I first plugged it in I thought it was running out of control because of the water flow! This pump sits in my Laguna skimmer on pumps to a rise of only four feet and has run continuously since I plugged it in several months ago. I had a incident wherein my skimmer got clogged with dirt and the pump ran almost dry for at least four hours yet did not fail. I fixed the skimmer and the pump just keeps on running putting out tremendous volumes of water. Mine is rated at 2000gph but it seems much more. I highly recommend this pump.

Best for taller people

We had the hardest time finding a quality (but not mega-priced) stroller that would be comfortable to push. I am 5'8", hubby 5'11", so we aren't really tall, but all the strollers we found available in local stores had us taking mini-strides and hunching over to reach the stroller handle to push it. Even now I often walk to the side and push it with one hand, but it is very easy to steer so it is no problem. Our 11 lb. poodle loves it. We did put a folded towel in the bottom to make her just a bit taller when sitting since her eyes were even with the top of the riding compartment, but if she lies down she can see through the mesh easily. Her kneecaps slide to the sides of her back legs making it impossible for her to jump and also making her a slow walker (she doesn't have pain) so everyone appreciates the stroller for when a power walk is on the agenda. This is a very nice, well-made item which I would recommend to anyone who needs or just wants a stroller for their pup.

Well built, but a little small

I was impressed with the build quality of this carrier. However, it is listed as capable of carrying a 20lb dog. I put my 10lb Yorkie boy in it and because of the way the front is angled looked to me to be cramped for him. I had to return it for this reason.

Well-made stroller for small dogs

This is a sturdy, well made stroller at a great price. Based on my satisfaction with the Outward Hound brand (I have a front carrier), it was an easy decision to buy this stroller for my 7 lb. toy poodle. Sometimes I take her to work with me, and she can lie down and comfortably sleep in it. If I need to run into a store, I just put a folded baby blanket over the top mesh, and let it hang all the way down on both sides. This covers the top and side mesh windows so nobody knows there's a dog in the stroller. That's another reason I wanted this stroller - because it was a non-descript dark blue - so I could discretely bring her anywhere with me without attracting attention.It rolls, turns, and folds up easily. I keep it bungie'd to the back of the passenger seat in the car. This keeps it out of the way, yet accessable. I use a plastic 'S' hook to hang my purse from the sturdy handlebar.I was a bit apprehensive about being one of those crazy poodle ladies, but I got over it, and now I use the stroller almost every day. You'll love it!Update - this stroller is still going strong after more than a year. I use it several times a day when I'm out running errands. I'm constantly taking it in and out of the car, opening it, going into the bank or store, back to the car, fold it up - it's so easy and lightweight. For a while, I tried a slightly bigger stroller, but my dog still prefers this one - it's cozy, but plenty big enough for her to lie down or even sleep in.

Acceptable solution to a tough problem

This dog door is a good solution to the issue of letting your dogs in and out through a glass door. The dog entrance/exit panel works fine and the door fits conveniently against the side of the house. However, it is only single-pane glass, and the sealing hardware that ships with it is not of good quality, so expect to make a trip or two to the hardware store if you live in a very cold climate and don't want your house leaking heat like a sieve in the winter. The single-pane glass also gets very cold and collects condensation. The installation instructions are acceptable but not great, and I also had to buy better screws than provided to get the door installed. If you want this panel to be secure (i.e. you want to be able to lock the door) you will need to drill *at least* four screw holes into the frame of your sliding glass door, to attach the pet panel. Most people will probably want to do six: two to secure the top, two on bottom, and two on the door itself to attach the locking mechanism.

Works Great!

I have an older home (built in '73) with a large sliding door that goes out to a Florida Room. I purchased the medium for the cats, my door measured about 78" high, and it works great. Installation was pretty simple. I was a little worried this might be set up for newer sliders, although I'm not sure if the set up for sliders has changed in the last 30 years. But you never know.The top of the panel is spring loaded which is nice. You just tilt the panel at an angle, and place it into the upper track, lift up up gently and place move the bottom into the lower portion of the track. Using your hands and feet, just kinda bump it up against the wall portion of where the slider opens to ensure a snug fit against the wall, and presto.I used the provided drill bit to drill the holes to secure the spring loaded portion as the directions state. This would prevent any one from lifting it out of the track and entering the home if your sliders lead directly outside rather than a porch, lanai, etc...Placed the door sweep on the back of the slider that butts up against the panel, and the weather stripping to the front of the slider that meets the panel and good to go. Installation took maybe 45 mins. The longest part was putting on the door sweep and weather stripping. Making sure to put it on straight.Some installation tips:The door may tend to "wobble" slightly forward and back in the upper track. I used the cardboard spacers of which you should find two on either side of the upper spring loaded portion of the panel for packing. I just folded it over, placed it between the upper part of the panel and the lip of the track and it worked fine. Sorta like a shim. Cant see it from the front or back, and no need to drill any extra holes.When applying the door sweep to the back of the slider that butts up against the panel, give yourself plenty of rubber to lay up-against the other door to provide a good seal. I took a wooden ruler and measured from the outside of the slider frame where the sweep will stick, and found that about 1/4" to 5/16" works pretty well. My sliders are single pane, not sure if newer ones are double pane. I measured off tick marks about every 1.5 feet down the frame. That way it was easy to make sure the sweep went on nice and straight and provides a good seal.The foam weather stripping that goes down the front of the same slider that will meet up against the panel was fairly easy, I just ran it straight down using the indoor edge as a guide as my slider and pet panel met up flush on the front. Adjust as needed for your installation.Works great and I'm no longer attempting to air condition an uninsulated portion of the house!You may have to tape the flap up for a little bit for your pets to get used to going in and out (assuming again it's going out to a lanai, porch, etc...). I put my cats on the other side, taped it up, and coaxed them through with some treats. They are currently going back and forth with it up, at the end of the week I'll let the door down and see how they do.You can also view the installation directions (PDF) on the PetSafe website for more info.

I INVESTED in this panel, it is expensive. I have had it for over 6 months, now. I have 3 cats that use it several times every day. I definately recommend it, dispite the cost, it has been worth every penny. My husband tapped in a couple pieces of thin wood(shims) to create a tight fit, and we put a piece of stick on velcro at the top edge where there was a small gap between the panel and the sliding glass door, and no bugs get in, the seal is tight. We use the patio door a zillion times a day, so the pet door panel has to be sturdy and it is.

High quality stuff

I had toyed with getting a rod by Allied Brass or Alno, both of which were quite expensive. Bought this instead. Superb quality. Beautifully chrome plated, heavy brass. The 72" rod can be cut to length. The rod is two piece and joins in the center, but the joint is so fine as to be virtually inapparent. Highly recommended.
