5Works perfectly!
By Mac
TACO has a real winner here: this mixing valve works exactly as advertised. I use a tankless coil for heat at home and the output temperature would swing wildly (depending on whether the system was supplying heat to the rest of the house or just heating my water). In addition, my town water supply doesn't exactly have "reliable" water pressure. This valve has done a great job of handling everything that has been thrown at it so far. I get perfect temperature water whether the heater's off or on, and it handles the water pressure changes perfectly!

4Wonderful external storage device, with room for expansion
By Chris Lee Mullins
Between my wife and I, we've got six computers. Three PCs and three Macs, two of which are G4 laptops using 802.11g. Keeping a centralized "vault" of MP3s and JPEGs gets to be a real pain in the keister. This dedicated Network Attached Storage (NAS) device makes it super easy. I was trying to decide whether or not to resurrect an old Athlon 1900XP to act as a dedicated file server (using Red Hat or what not), bringing our net total of operational machines to 7. I decided that spending 317 bucks on a 250GB NAS device was worth it.Five minutes after coming home with the product, I had it up and running. Ten minutes after that, I had all six computers set-up to use the NAS.We filled this drive up pretty quick. Between our music library, numerous pictures of our daughter, iMovies, backed-up school papers, and Photoshop files, we ran out of space real fast. Which is where the "room for expansion" thing kicks in. You can chain more Western Digital drives to this device (WD calls it "claiming"). Using either a dedicated external USB 2.0 drive or the "dual-option back-up" drives with USB 2.0/Firewire 400, you can add more drives to the network. We purchased one of the dual option 250GB WD drives and added it to the network in less time that it took to add the initial NAS device. Very very handy.I do NOT know, however, if this feature works with other manufacturers like Maxtor, ClubMac, or what have you. I suspect it might, expecially since wired/wireless routers have had the option to add USB 2.0 storage to a network for a little over a year now.Western Digital advertises this device as a print server as well, but MAKE SURE you check the compatibility list on their website before taking the plunge. Multi-function printers (print, copy, scan, fax) might work, but only the print function will be supported. Many higher-end photo printers (such as our HP Photosmart 7550) are NOT supported. Our Samsung ML-1650 (a USB laser printer) isn't supported either. You may be able to find a general multi-purpose driver to work with your printer, but don't expect to get technical support from WD if you do.If you have an Ethernet or workgroup printer, obviously, you aren't going to use the print server function, either. If you do have a printer that works, set-up is extremely easy, especially on Mac OS X. The Printer Setup utility immediately recognizes the WD NetCenter as a print server.Don't expect miracles from this product. Its not very quick. Copying large amounts of files to it will bog down your network, especially if doing it wirelessly (802.11B, G or N). If the drive is being written to AND read from at the same time, you'll really tax the NAS...not unlike any P-ATA or S-ATA internal drive.I'm disappointed that WD only offers this product with 10/100bT instead of 10/100/1000, since our house is wired for gigabit. Still, at this price, I'm not THAT disappointed. The drive is super quiet, easy to use, doesn't require fans to keep cool and, as far as I know, does NOT utilize proprietary protocols to connect to Macs and PCs.Oh...and it does play nice with Macs and PCs both. Server shares, passwords and general setup are all done through a web browser, much setting up a broadband routers. You don't access the drive by typing in an IP address, but rather through WD's software, which brings up the browser for you. You can access the device through IE, Firefox, Mozilla or Safari. I've tried them all without issue.Accessing the drive CAN be a bit wonky. If you have just powered up the device or your Mac/PC, you'll have to give it a minute or so before you start mounting or accessing shared folders. This frustrated me at first until I realized that the WD had to announce its presence to the rest of the network.I docked it a star for not having 1000bT and its limited print server functionality. I'm not saying you'll find better functionality elsewhere, but 5 stars to me means "phenomenal product". Overall, this product is "just excellent".

5Not Slow For Us!!!
By Mad Dog
We use this as a server on our home network. One reviewer said that a 50GB copy would take 3 to 4 hours... No way!!! Maybe his network has bandwidth issues, dunno, but I do large file transfers with ours all the time, including across our wireless and I see on the order of 1 to 10 GB per minute, depending on the traffic our router is experiencing.Setup is trivial and the drive has been very reliable over the last year. We use it constantly and I think it is a decent value. Within a year, these devices will probably be under $200. I look forward to picking up a 1TB model.

2Does not support RAID 1 mirroring
By Robert Mohns
Despite the "Tech Specs" of Amazon, the WD NetCenter does not support RAID 1 (mirroring) configuration. According to a Western Digital representative in their forums, "RAID functionality was tested with this device but was not implemented on the final product due to lack of interest from our beta testers. This feature may be implemented on future enterprise based external products, but will not be implemented on the NetCenter hard drive."

5Good sound in a small package
By JAFU
Don't let the small size and light weight fool you. This center channel speaker packs plenty of punch. For me, the main purpose of a CS speaker is to deliver clear vocals and dialogue. With this Polk, I no longer have to lean forward in my chair or crank up the volume to hear conversations. All sound coming from it is crystal-clear. I'm very happy with it. I have it set up with an Onkyo receiver, an RCA sub, two Bose front speakers, and four Klipsch surround speakers.

5WOW!
By R. Miller
Got an HD LCD TV for Christmas to replace the Sony CRT. That meant the center speaker (an $200 big name in high end audio) could no longer sit on top of the set. Wall mounting wasn't an option (uh, I have a WIFE.) This little Polk unit fits in the TV stand (standing upright) next to the audio/SAT/DVD units. Yeah, I was a bit worried about the sound coming out of such a small unit (especially male vocals) but Polk does wonders with their small bookshelf speakers (of which I have a pair in the bedroom.) How impressive is this! Crisp, loud vocals with plenty of warmth and depth. Male voices are plenty deep. For $71 and free shipping, this was a steal!!!!

5Very clear vocals in a small package
By John B. Fisher
While overhauling my home theater system, I decided to try a new center speaker. Even if this speker did not work well, it could go into another room.Wow! What a pleasant surprise to hear the sweet, clear sound this speaker produces. At less than half the size of my existing center speaker, this Polk Audio RM6752 center speaker produces at least the same amount of sound. More importantly, vocal sound through this speaker is clear and crisp. So, this speaker will stay with my home theater system. The older center speaker can go to the other room for a 3.1 setup. As you can guess, I do recommend this speaker. Though small, it provides a sweet, clear sound for your center channel.

4complementary center channel for LSi system
By MonsterJam
Polk's LSi series is its flagship speaker system. Being 4 ohm, it behooves one to ensure that the speakers are driven by a powerful receiver or consider separates (amp and Pre/Pro).The center channel shares the same acoustical qualities as that of its companion speakers: smooth (if understated) and defined. The Ring Radiator tweeter is the centerpiece for these speakers, which utilize internal crossovers to ensure the best possible sound reproduction. Note that it is because of this crossover that one might mistakenly believe that one of the drivers may not be operating: check your receivers set-up and ensure that the center channel is set for "Large".The LSi series is a very attractive piano gloss black and its connectors and cabinet are rock solid. The rear of the speaker features slots for wall-mounting although the speaker will set about 2" off the wall due to its vented port. The sound? That's a very personal matter. Anyone considering a significant purchase like this should take the time to listen to the speakers for themselves. I am very happy with mine.

4Awesome Center
By Player
I paired this with LSi7 bookshelf speakers and in-walls, and couldn't be more happy with the sound quality. Everybody is wow'ed with the sound. Strong and crisp which is what I have come to expect with Polk. My only minor complaint is that the center finish is only available piano black and the matching bookshelves are ebony wood. I would have like to see the center match as the ebony is much nicer looking.

5LSiC
By N. Duverge
I did not buy my LSiC from Amazon I was able to get a used one. I am the 3rd owner and the rest of my setup is a pair of LSi15's and a pair of LSi FX. The LSiC was bought in 2004 and sounded a little off. I was not sure what the problem was and I did every check in the book. I even took the speaker apart and looked at the crossover but nothing looked damaged. So I did the next best thing. I ordered a new set of drivers, tweeter and crossover from polk audio customer service.. After getting everything set up again I got to say this is the BEST center channel I have heard. Matches the other LSi speakers perfect. I was using a CS10 before and the difference was amazing. Not putting down the cs10 it's a good entry level but the LSi line sound so good I had to upgrade. I never thought I would ever get LSi anything but when the LSiM came out the price on the LSi's came way down. So much so that I could finally afford to buy them. The LSiC took me months to find but I would not pay the $700 to $800 some people are asking for. The center channel is hard to come by but I would say don't buy it from amazon unless you can get it for under $300. If you are upgrading and you want amazing sound for the price try to find a complete LSi setup. Unless you can afford the new hotness LSiM series. And don't bother reading the one star review that guy does not know what he is talking about. This link has all the info regarding the cascade tapered array. http://www.polkaudio.com/polk-university/technology/cascade-tapered-array-crossover

3Great speakers - Grills, what can I say !?!
By w00dw0rker
I have had these speakers for a couple of months. They are mounted in my backyard and produce a very nice and crisp sound. I am very pleased and happy about the speakers and sound quality. So, the speakers get 5 stars! The grills however, are a different story. The industrial designer that came up with this idea probably looked at the sketch on the CAD/design program and figured it's very cool and they moved forward with it, without making a few prototypes and testing them for a period of time to see whether or not there are any issues. The perforated metal screen has very short lips and they fall out of the cut in the body of the structure easily, especially when the speakers are hanging at an angle from the wall. The mechanical engineer would have caught this, had they held a design review meeting, and they could have resolved this if they had seen the prototypes in action during the design phase.I'll have to look at them and see if there is a way to fix them so that they don't fall off, but then why did I pay the hefty price for these speakers in the first place? I hope the folks at Polk read this review and think twice next time they release a product. So, if you don't care about the grills, go for them, they are nice speakers, but the grills will not sit on them unless you use "superglue" or something else to hold them in place (not a recommendation obviously!!!)

3Great sound, irritating grills
By O. DEFAUX
Beautiful sound throughout the range. Awesome power. But those grills keep falling off; hyper-irritating. Had to affix them with duct tape. Would have been a 5-star without this issue.

1DO NOT BUY THESE SPEAKERS!!!!
By D. S. Pauken
Do not buy these speakers!!! The grills will not stay on them. I found out after the 30 day return period (I bought them in March and did not put them up until April) so now I am stuck with them. There is no way to permanently affix the grills and when the speakers expand in the heat, the grills fall off. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT BUY THESE SPEAKERS.
