Just got the set yesterday. LOVE IT! This was by far a super buy! I couldn't believe that I got all that I did for the price that I did. It even came in earlier than expected and thats with the free shipping too! The pattern is very subtle and elegant. This is the first China that I have purchased and I look forward to buying the rest of the set. Even if I have to pay reg. price for the rest of the set (though I doubt it) the money I saved already....worth it!

On December 14, 2005, I bought the Mikasa Red Parchment Fine China 40 piece Service for 8, for less than $180 from Amazon.com. Very nice and excellent set. I was so pleased that I visited Amazon.com for another set few days later, and on December 18, 2005, this time purchased the Gray Mikasa Parchment Fine China 42-Piece Dinnerware, Service for 8, for much less than the Red set, at $129.99 PLUS free shipping. I shopped for these sets at major retails stores in Massachusetts, and not one came close to what I paid for them @ Amazon.com. The Gray set is as beautiful as the Red Parchment set. All the pieces arrived intact. Highly recommended to all. Visit Amazon.com more often, you'll be surprised to see how much you'll save, compare to your local stores or to other online stores.PS: I don't work for Amazon.com, I am just a pleased customer.

Beautiful china

The China was beautiful, with some minor flaws. Also, a bowl was broken during shipment; the process to correct this was tedious. I had to wait for another set; then return the original set, which was a headache trying to carry this huge, very heavy box to the PO. Additionally, the invoice inside said $118.00...so, I think I was overcharged. No refund issued. I definitely wouldn't do this again.

Nice construction and easy assembly.

We use this in a commercial office. It really improved the look of one of our small meeting rooms. This is a nice piece of furniture when you consider the cost and what it is. It is what I expected and I would recommend it as long as you realize that you're not paying for and receiving heavy duty solid wood furniture. It arrived in good condition and was easy to assemble. I'd buy another one.

Fantastic; the best headphones I've ever owned. Vladimir Putin seems to think so, too.

I went to a local Guitar Center on a mission to find some headphones that I could wear for eight hours solid at work. These won hands-down. They have the most ingenious suspension - it makes them feel very light, and there is so little clamping force that I can indeed wear them all day without irritation. With other headphones, even headphones that are reviewed very well in the comfort department, I would always feel the clamping force after an hour or two.Of course, they sound really good as well. Excellent bass response, even on my awful Zune. (Who makes a dedicated MP3 player with NO EQ or any kind of DSP options at all? Even my iRiver that I got in 2004 had full EQ and a ton of DSP presets and sounded heavenly. Seriously. What's that all about?) The AKG K240s even sound good with my cell phone, which probably doesn't have all that great a DAC, and certainly no EQ. Of course, plugged into a computer or a receiver, they work great. They are designed for studio work, after all.I have a picture somewhere of Vladimir Putin wearing a pair of these. If you're the Russian premier, I'm pretty sure you can have ANY damn headphones you want. He could have spent tons of money on ostentatious headphones, but instead, he got these. Just saying!

Good Build Quality and Open-Air Style Maximizes Sound

I have four pair of headphones costing between 20-50 dollars, including such brands as Sennheiser, Logitech, Sony, and Eton. They're all capable headphones but they're Closed-Back style, which, while keeping external sound out, is also harder on the ears and which, I've read, compromises sound. So for my ear safety and for a bigger sound, I opted for the AKG K24. Here's what I like: Good build quality, comfortable large ear gel ear cups, microjack fits in iPod without needing an adapter (true of all my other headphones). The sound is good, great even, but I wouldn't go so far to say they produce the "wow factor." However, be aware of the fact that I don't pump up the volume very loud because I don't want to blast my eardrums. Are they worth the price? That's a subjective question. For many who want to spend less on an Open-Ear headphone without compromising sound, I think most will be happy with the 20-dollar Audio-Technica ATH-MZX Open-Ear headphones.

High quality manufacture for very good sound

The biggest problem with most mouthpieces is manufacturing defects. Sometimes the table is not exactly flat, or the rails don't curve at exactly the same rate. These Jody Jazz HR mouthpieces are all well-manufactured; you will never be fighting your mouthpiece, nor will you ever need a custom refacing. That said, it's important to have a well-prepared reed as well, or you could end up blaming your mouthpiece when the reeds are the problem. If you buy one of these, you can be confident that further problems are the fault of reeds. to prepare reeds for playing, the best 1-2 combination I know of is the ATG reed preparation method, which you can find on youtube and Google, coupled with the ReedGeek tool for flattening the reed table and precise touch-ups. I found this mouthpiece to be pretty reed friendly. I've tried it with Rico Jazz Selects, Vandoren ZZ and V16, and Rigotti Gold, getting somewhat different tones from each but all of them giving me a sound I liked.As far as sound goes, this mouthpiece seemed to me to give the player a lot of flexibility. It's less bright than the metal mouthpieces, so the sound is good for classical playing, but like all of Jody Espina's mouthpieces this one can also take a lot of air without the tone going bad. So it's also suitable for playing in jazz ensembles. It has only a mild amount of "buzz" to the tone, again putting it right in the middle of the road of the different types of sound a saxophonist might want.This would probably be ideal for a student who plays in multiple different groups. It's also (obviously) suitable for a pro, if it fits your tone concept. An extremely funky sound is probably not possible, and this may not be bright enough to cut through an electrified group, but other than that, it will suit most uses.
