Dime It The late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag MLs to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude.

Mahogany Body As with the original models, Dean uses a mahogany body for this ML. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.

The flame graphics, from which the axe gets its name, should help inspire you to light the fretboard on fire.

Set Neck Construction The Dime-o-Flame ML features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access (enhanced even further by the cutaways).

The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays.

Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Bridge Pickup Seymour's SH-13 Dimebuckers were designed with the man himself to provide serious output and an aggressive tone. The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet and stainless steel blades for serious crunch. The SH-13 boasts more treble bite than a lot of humbuckers, along with low-end punch and exceptional dynamics.

A Dean humbucker completes the package up in the neck position, each pickup getting its own volume conrol, along with a shared tone and three-way toggle.

Grover Tuners If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.

Licensed Floyd Rose Tremolo
The patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose tremolo allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.

DBD Traction Knobs Dimebag always rocked his "traction knobs," which he created by taking a soldering iron to them, for knobs that are grippable no matter how much sweat's pouring off you on stage. Dean faithfully recreates that here.

5Getch yur pull
By Mykill Viktor
If you are on the fence about this guitar I only have two words for ya...GET IT!! This thing is amazing! It is easy to play and the action is quick. Your fingers will be flying up and down the fretboard with reckless abandon. The pickups are aggressive but also sound really good on clean. They are also noiseless when the volume (on the guitar is turned all the way down). I got ZERO buzz from the guitar when the volume nobs were down. The pickups SCREAM harmonics. You can get pinches and artificial harmonics with ease. If you know how to get the Dime squeels you can pull them off easily with this guitar. It should be noted though, don't expect to just plug this thing in and sound like Dime did. Dime's tone came from his setup rig and tunings but this guitar is a BEAST and sounds best with HIGH gain. I run it through two distortion pedals (one with a noise gate) and an EQ pedal and it tears it up. The shape was a little daunting at first but after playing it I found it to be VERY comfortable. The shape and weight are VERY well balanced. It sits on your lap very well if you play sitting and the two back wings on the body make it handy for resting it on your leg and playing it upright (while standing). The locking trem keeps everything in tune. I have done SEVERE divebombs with it and it's STILL in tune a month later. The guitar is surprisingly versatile as well accomidating many different styles of play from metal, rock, blues, you name it. Many reviewers have blasted the paint job as being too "pixelated" and I would have to agree. If you look at the graphic up close (about 12" away) it is very pixelated as computer generated paint jobs tend to be however, I do not play a guitar for its paint job. I play a guitar for how it sounds and this thing sounds KILLER. I cannot say enough great things about this guitar, it totally CRUSHES! I got mine within 3 days of ordering it and it was packaged well and the intonation was pretty much set right out of the box. If you are even thinking about getting this guitar DO IT!! You will not be disappointed. R.I.P Dime. Getch ya pull!

5Amazing Axe!
By Brandon Green
This is, by far, the best guitar I've ever owned! I absolutly love how easy it is to shred down the neck. The dimebucker at the back coupled with my cry baby makes it sound AWESOME! The double locking tremelo keeps it in tune while I work on my dive-bombs (still practicing). The paint job is a beautiful touch. You can see wicked-looking faces mixed in with the flames. ****ing awesome axe!

4Great guitar at a great price
By Schchster85
I got this guitar on a very good deal, I think - for a bit more than $300 I got a quality guitar, and with fetching looks on top of it. The features of the guitar are well known, so I am not going to repeat them here. The finish, while nowhere close to an airbrush type of finish, looks fine nonetheless - no one is going to look at this thing with a looking glass. The setup was ok. With its quality components, the comfortable shape and the 24.75 scale the guitar is fun to play, and sounds great, especially with its screaming Dimebucker bridge pickup. Not a guitar for the squeamish, as it gets a lot of attention. Beyond the optics, though, this is a solid, fun-to-play tool.

5I Love This Thing
By Kenneth Auger
If you have a refrigerator and/or a freezer and store food, you want one of these! I was torn between rating this four or five stars. It does have one flaw, but there is a simple work-around (See Cons below). It does everything the manufacturer says it will do and more. I have the v2490, which I think is the Costco version of this model. I've been using it for a year and a half now. I am very pleased. It has definitely paid for itself through savings in bulk purchasing and preserving leftovers. I have kept food in the freezer for embarrassingly long times without any freezer burn or other detectable deterioration. It is so simple to use that one does not need to read the instructions to begin using it. However, I do recommend reading them for important maintenance information and to learn how to get the full benefits from this appliance.Pros:It always works as expected.Simple and easy to use.Easy to clean and maintain.Relatively quiet for a vacuum pump.Con:The gaskets are a bit of a problem. There are two foam gaskets, one on the lid and one on the base, that meet to form the seal when you lower the lid to vacuum and seal. The problem is that after a while the weight of the lids begins to compress these gaskets and they begin not to seal. When this happens you can hear the pump trying to get the air out, but it never finishes. I was very disappointed when this started happening. I searched the Internet for other users' experiences, and found this to be a fairly common problem. The problem is the two sealing gaskets. Here's what I did to remedy this problem. First I removed the gaskets (very easy to do) and gently washed them with warm soapy water, letting them soak for about ten minutes. I hung them dry for a day and put them back in (also easy to do). This fixed the problem. My FoodSaver worked like it did when it was brand new. I was amazed. As far as I could tell, there was nothing in the printed instructions that dealt with this issue.Second, I got a small piece packing foam and put it between the lid and the base to keep the lid from closing all the way when not in use. If you do this, be sure to position the piece of foam so that it is not touching either the foam gasket in the lid or the one in the base, as this will cause indentions in the gasket foam and prevent it from forming a seal.Third, I called the manufacturer and ordered some replacement gaskets as backup. They were only one dollar per pair plus a mailing charge. The new gaskets were here in a couple of days. I haven't used them yet as the work-around using the piece of foam to hold the lid up seems to be keeping the old gaskets in working order. Conclusions:I think that the manufacturer should design a catch of some sort to stop the lid from closing all the way when the appliance is not in use. This would eliminate the problem with the sealing gaskets. Other than that the FoodSaver seems well designed, sturdy, and very handy to have in the kitchen.Recommendation:Highly Recommended. If you eat food you need one of these.

5Wonderful!!!!
By NuJoi
This is my first experience with a vacuum seal product and it has been a great one. I shop at a wholesale club, but I cook for one. I've had this less than a week and I have completely transformed my freezer. I have things packaged in individual serving sizes, including poultry, fish, seafood and even desserts.I have two disappointments, but no regrets. The first is that the appliance is huge. The flip up design is a necessity and even then it looks imposing. In fairness to Tilla, the dimensions are listed on the box. I'm out of counter and cabinet space so mine lives on top of the refrigerator. My second complaint is that the canisters are not freezer-safe. This is very disappointing because it adds extra complexity to freezing items that contain a lot of liquid. You need to place items on a baking sheet in the freezer and then use the FoodSaver bags once the items are frozen. For liquids, you need to freeze them in solid blocks and then place them in the FoodSaver bags. The instructions also suggest you use canning jars designed for the freezer when freezing liquids. I've tried to find the canning jars, but I've had no luck with the usual suspects. I'm not ready to order a full case from Amazon, but maybe that's the only way they are sold. Things would be so much easier with freezer-safe caninsters.Even with those two complaints, my purchase was worth it. I've gained freezer space and my bulk items will last longer. It hurts to leave three inches of bag material unused when sealing items, but I'm convinced this is still less wasteful and more efficient than the tons of freezer bags I go through. The bags are reusable and can be washed in the diswasher. The DVD was extremely helpful. The bags and bag material included are enough to whet your appetite. If you register the product online, Tilla will send you coupons for the accessories, but they are only good for purchases directly from FoodSaver. You can't use them at another store.Must-have accessories are the bottle stoppers and food marinator.

5A must have in the kitchen
By Wooden
I love this product! This is my second FoodSaver I've had in the last 4 years. The first one stopped working properly after 3 years so I purchased this one and I LOVE IT! I recommend this FoodSaver to all my friends and those who have bought it like it too.Tips: If it stops giving a complete vacuum, remove the gaskets - both top and bottom, put them back in; lock the handle and press the vacuum and seal button. When it is finished, wait 6-7 seconds before releasing the handle. This will reseed the gaskets. One suggestion I received from CS was to soak the gaskets in hot water for about 2 hours and let dry completely before re-installing them. They said this would help keep them more pliable.I use this to seal virtually everything. When I grill out, I make extra brats or burgers, seal them in packages (the size of one meal for two) and re-heat in the bag in boiling water. You'd never know it was cooked months earlier. We enjoy BBQ all year long this way.Bottom line, I don't every want to be without one.

3The chair is too small...
By EC
Purchased as a desk chair based on Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" section of the page for a student desk I was checking out. This Kidkraft chair was shown as the one that could go with the desk, I bought the student desk and the chair of a matching color.I should've done more research. Found out after I got them that thechair is way too short for the 28" high desk. The chair's description doesn't say what height work surface they're for, nor a child's age group they're suitable for. Found out with more research that these chairs are intended to be mated up with a 22" table! Huge difference - especially for an eight year old!I suspect that "Frequently Bought Together" section is driven by statistics of on-line purchasers rather than any dimensions of compatibility. Therefore, I'm not the first to make this mistake - nor will I be the last.I found nothing else from Amazon I liked, so shopped on line elsewhere. Come to find out, the Amazon competitor had more choices in chair styles (which I've ordered) AND I could've gotten the DESK much cheaper too. It pays to shop around. The chair appears to be a solid product and if I needed it for younger children, I'd keep it and get the matching table.Unfortunately these issues, by their nature, are the product of buying things on line.

5Great chair and table set
By Patricia Brady
We bought the Avalon chair & table set and two additional chairs. They are beautiful and very strong--adults sit on them with no problem. They are a little big for the smallest children (age 2 and under), but sit even 8 and 9 year olds comfortably. My children use this table for crafts; for dinner parties; etc. The only problem is that the table surface can be easily marked--we have a green marker line across the top and a crayon line up one leg. I'd think that the table could have a more wipe-clean surface. Food stains wipe up easily--but I think that some crayons and markers (and not just permanent ones) can stain the surface.

5Sturdy and solid; big enough for third graders
By Janet L.
I bought these chairs (and the matching table) for two boys who had outgrown their "kid-sized" (which was really preschool sized) set. These are sturdy enough for grownups (even 200 pound grownups), not too big for a five year old, and perfect for first through about third graders. The kids use these every day and they are holding up well.

Gold Tone Paul Cloud PC Banjola (Vintage Brown) Product Description:

Product Description

What better of a way to describe the Pat Cloud Banjola (PC-Banjola) than allow Mr. Cloud to explain it himself… "The Banjola arrived and it is just gorgeous! I love the solid feel and the action is perfect. I just love it. It gets better and better every time I pick it up. It's perfect for me. This Friday is my day off and i am going into Tokyo to try some amps out. My whole life has been in exploration of the "five string system" usually attached to banjo, but now attached to an exciting new instrument which satisfies my need for mellow sustain and jazz chord soloing. This top professional model has many upgrades from our original highly successful Banjola. A wider body, pin style bridge, maple/abalone full body binding, multi layered veneer back of headstock, rising sun inlay, maple heel cap, and a dual stereo out transducer/magnetic pick up. A great stage instrument as the amplified tone is unique and sustaining, and it has a very "fat" tone because of the stereo pick up arrangement.” This top professional banjola has many upgrades from the original highly successful Banjola. A wider body, pin style bridge (instead of floating), maple/abalone full body binding, multi-layered veneer on the back of the headstock, rising sun fingerboard inlay, maple heel cap, and a dual stereo out transducer/magnetic pickup configuration. This is a great stage instrument as the amplified tone is unique and sustaining, and it has a pleasing "fat" tone because of the stereo pick up arrangement. 5What an enchanting instrument!
By the_global_village_idiot
Will note up front that my review relates to the original Gold Tone banjola and not to the Pat Cloud model, which I have not played yet (but would love to). The Pat Cloud is upgraded with woods and appearance, as well has having onboard pickups. The instrument with which I'm familiar is the most basic model, the original. This said: wow, are these things ever cool! Functionally, they play exactly like a well-made 5-string banjo. They have a very comfortable neck and a fabulous and unique sound --incredibly sensitive and sweet-sounding, perfect for melodic-style picking. That they're also much less loud makes them ideal for late nights or bringing into a house cohabitated with non-banjo lovers, if you take my meaning. It's also a lot lighter than a banjo, meaning that you can travel with one more easily. The only downside to these things is that the body is so light that gravity wants to take over -- you'll find yourself holding the neck up, unless you strap it.Most 'hybrid' instruments combine the worst aspects of two or more different instruments. This is different. It has a unique and wonderful sound all its own. Kudos to Gold Tone for coming up with these things!!!!

5Great sounding Mandolin
By Jonathan_McAwesomeville
This mandolin comes packaged nicely - shipped in perfect condition and comes with a tool to adjust the action under the strings (space between strings and neck of instrument). The action is a tiny bit high in manufacturing and I recommend setting it a little lower; however this requires removing the strings in order to access the neck, so plan to put a little time into it if you want the action to be absolutely perfect. Please note that this is not even necessary, just a recommendation. The mandolin resonates beautifully and though I have not had an opportunity to test the electric pickup, I can say from playing it unplugged that it has a crisp sound and plays nicely, and most mandolins in this price range do not have a pickup anyway, nor do they sound this good. I was rather impressed in the way this compares to one of the higher-end mandolins, especially considering the price.

5Very Nice
By Willy Wailer
I have played guitar for a zillion years and decided that our little jam band needed a mandolin for songs like "The Weight' by The Band. This mandolin was delivered last week and I managed to do pretty well with the three chords of the song. This instrument plays smoothly after lowering the action a little and getting new strings. Pickup sounds good running through a Mesa Boogie Express25 and a little Fishman EQ. Sounds fine without amplification as well. Much fun. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

5A Good Instrument
By J. Price
This is my first mandolin and I am very impressed. It has a bright, lovely tone, feels good in the hand, is beautiful to look at, well-made and has good pickups to boot. I recommend having it set up as the action was high out of the box and this might unnecessarily put someone off learning mandolin. Having said that, I just returned from a guitar lesson where we spent half the session on some new mandolin pieces and it's definitely a keeper.

5ECONOMICAL MULTI-FUNCTION FUEL ECONOMY COMPUTER AND CODE SCANNER
By L. G. CHARLOT
I have had the Scan Gauge II in my Toyota Yaris for about 3 months now, and have tested it's functionality in a wide range of city and freeway driving. Since the car is only a year old, I haven't needed to scan any trouble codes yet, so I am using the SGII primarily as a fuel economy computer.SGII connects directly to the OBD-2 diagnostic port that is present on most vehicles sold in the US since 1996. The manufacturer, Linear Logic, publishs a list on the company website showing specifically which makes and models of cars and light trucks that the unit will and will not work in.Features: The SGII reads the data stream from the car's engine control computer, and uses this data to calculate and display, in real time, the engine's fuel consumption, RPM, coolant temperature, throttle loading, and Trip/Tank statistics like how many miles you can go on remaining fuel, and how much $$$ worth of gas has been burned on the current trip. The unit offers something like 40 different functions and guage displays - go to the company website for a complete list. What I like about the product: Adds fuel economy displays, plus some other guages like Water Temp and RPM, that weren't available even as options on my Toyota Yaris. The fuel economy computer feature is something that you usually see only on up-scale cars costing over $30,000 - ScanGuage II adds this functionality to almost any OBD-II complient car for only $159. The Yaris fuel guage isn't very accurate, whereas the SG-II tells me to 1/10 of a gallon how much gas I have left. At each fill-up, you can re-calibrate the SGII with the exact amount of gas pumped. This is nice because fuel density changes with the seasons as average daily temperature rise and falls, which results in changes of up to 10% in how many gallons it takes to effect a fill-up.The SGII is pretty compact, so most owners will be able to find some place on or under the dash to mount it. At night, the display screen is backlit well enough. At night, with the backlight on, the contrast between the display background and the numbers isn't as great as I'd like, but the screen is readable enough. The backlighting is provided by a multi-color LED, and the user can select between about 16 different colors. The display update/refresh rate is once per second (fast mode), or once per two seconds (regular mode), so the unit's RPM display may not update quickly enough for use as a real-time tachometer in a manual transmission car. However, you could certainly use it to calibrate an analog tachEase of use: The SGII is self-powered from the OBD-II connector, and needs no batteries. It only uses a single ethernet-type cable to connect it to the OBD-II port. One 6' cable comes with the unit, and additional cables can be purchased for $20 if you want to use your SGII in more than one car.The SGII can be used in multiple cars, but moving the unit to a different car probably erases the "current" and "prior day" trip data.Usefulness: This gadget is really helpful on long trips to let you know when you need to make a gas stop. In mountainous terrain, most cars use a lot more gas than when cruising on the "flats", and SGII immediately updates the tank-remaining-mileage if terrain or driving conditions change substantially. The device is sensitive enough to show even small differences in fuel economy like the difference between air conditioning on or off, headlights on or off, and tailgate up/down. The most obvious difference in fuel economy comes with changes in speed, and SGII shows in hard numbers that 75mph cruising will hurt fuel economy as much as 30% compared to keeping it under 60.The other primary use for SGII is to scan your car's OBD-II engine control computer and display the actual trouble code when your "check engine" warning light comes on. Assuming you have a listing of the trouble codes for your car, this feature could tell you the difference between minor glitches for which repair can be delayed a few days, and major failures that need to be fixed right away. Once a fault has been repaired, SGII can be used to tell the car's OBD-II computer to reset the trouble code. I haven't used this feature myself yet, but the owner's manual describes the function well enough. Conclusion: For $159, this is a pretty cool gadget to have in your car, especially as the price or gas is now well above $3.00 (diesel approaching $4.00/gallon in some parts of the US!). And yes, SGII works in most Diesel vehicles made after 1996 (see the list on Linear Logic's website). Highly recommended as a really useful automobile accessory that offers a LOT of "bang-for-the-buck".UPDATE: September 2010. Have used this gadget for almost three years in my Yaris and in my Dodge diesel truck, and still functioning perfectly, despite being cooked in the hot summer sun on the dashboard several times. One issue I have noticed when using it in the Dodge: If I run through a tank of fuel while towing a heavy trailer, then another tank of fuel while the truck is unloaded (not towing or hauling anything), the calibration changes substantially. I usually use something like "45%" for unloaded, and "25%" when towing. However, even these numbers are only rough starting points. In general, over level ground at 55mph, I expect to get 20mpg unloaded, and 14mpg towing a 7800# RV trailer. But the Scan Guage is rarely consistant, even when I am careful to set the calibration to the same numbers I calculated the last time I towed the trailer. I guess other factors like average grade, temperature, and elevation must be affecting the fuel consumption/tank return ratio of the truck's fuel injection system, and this is resulting in inconsistent reporting of fuel economy from the ScanGuage. A typical inconsistency: I drove 300 miles at 45 mph, unloaded, and the scan guage reported 35 mpg (completely unrealistic for a 3/4 ton truck, of course). Actual fuel economy was 24. So I re-calibrated, and on the next tank of fuel, the ScanGuage reported only 10 mpg when I was really getting 16 (I was towing the trailer again on this tank). This is ONLY an issue with my diesel truck, when I install the gadget in my gasoline car, it is very consistant from one tank of fuel to another, and I rarely have to change the calibration after the two fill-ups. I still like the ScanGuage and recommend it, just be aware that apparently the way it interprets fuel consumption data from the ECM in a diesel engine vehicle isn't as stable or consistant as you would get in a gasoline vehicle.

5gives you all the information you want/need
By Thomas Mueller
This little box is very useful. In my case it already paid for itself. I was able to clear some service codes (misfire of a cylinder). In the past I paid $69 for the mechanic to just look up and clear the code.I really like the fact that ScanGauge displays all kinds of engine data in real time. Other devices such as the CarChip save it and then need to be connected to a computer in order to access the data.In my opinion, the ScanGauge is worth every cent.

4Be more knowledgeable about your car
By Brett Stewart
Being a geek, I bought the ScanGauge II so that I could see more information in real time about my car. The ScanGauge should appeal to anyone who watched Night Rider and was envious of all the cool displays inside Kit. The good news is that this little device does give you so much more cool information about your car as you drive. Rather than guess why your car had bad mileage, you can tell immediately it was because you had the throttle down too much or your average speed was 85 mph. The real value of this gadget is that it gives you hard data to point to when your car acts a little funny. The first thing you'll have to figure out is where to mount it. I drive a RAV4, and I've found the best place is under the center console. It stays out of the way and gives your passengers something cool to look at while you're driving. I would not recommend putting it in your line of site, like a HUD in an F-16. The numbers will distract you and then you'll have bigger problems than bad gas mileage. Finding a good place to mount is critical. That leads me to my first complaint: the ScanGauge is just heavy enough that Velcro won't hold it for long periods of time. After my car has been in the hot sun, the ScanGauge simply falls. It is a habit now for me to stick the ScanGauge back up every time I get in the car. I've contemplated using superglue to make sure it stays, but I don't want to damage the interior. The realtime data is very handy, but I wish the screen updated a little faster. There are multiple settings (slow, normal, and fast), but fast isn't quite fast enough. The numbers always lag behind about half a second, making it impossible to drive your car to the data. The trip data is much more interesting and useful. Once I calibrated my speed and fuel mileage, I was surprised to see how accurate it was. Every time I fill up gas, I know how much I have to put in. It is usually accurate within a half gallon. Knowing my fuel mileage has been great for my lead foot too. When I see my mileage lower than normal, I know I have to start taking it easy. There are four trips computed by the ScanGauge: Current, Tank, Today, and Yesterday. These are hardcoded, and you can't change them, so if you go on a long trip, you can't keep one average for the whole thing.Overall, I would recommend the ScanGauge to any geek who wants to know everything about the car.
