Easy to install!

Wow! This hitch was easy to install on my 2000 Ford Taurus Flex Fuel LX! Guess there's a first time for everything! I followed the instructions regarding the carbon canister stuff, but I didn't see where it was necessary on my vehicle when I was done, and just had to hood it all back up again.The rest of the hitch installation was a snap and I was able to do it by myself, and no extra jack was necessary to hold the hitch or anything. Oh, I did have a little trouble with one of the nuts on that handle thing, but once I put it in the correct hole it was a lot easier!It might be a good idea to look at your rubber exhaust hanger before you do the job, because it probably needs replacing and the ones at the local parts stores will work, but weren't exactly the same, and it saves a step if you replace it when you're doing the hitch. Squirt some silicone or WD-40 on it to make getting it on and off easier.I also got the Curt Manufacturing 55375 T-Connector for this car, and that was a snap also!Course, the time I saved here was spent fighting the installation of Munroe front end struts which don't fit this car exactly! But, that's another story!I might note that I used to buy my trailer stuff from another online source, but I am saving at Amazon for the same great products.

works well but packaged badly

I recently got this receiver hitch for my 2005 Chevy Malibu and was able to install it on my own. My only frustration is that it was not packaged well and parts of it were sticking out holes in the box when it arrived. This wouldn't be so bad, except the only visible part of this hitch, the receiver hole, has a huge scratch in the paint. I plan to fix this with some touch-up paint.There is a youtube video that clearly explains all the installation steps (Amazon removes the link but just search for "Malibu Trailer Hitch Install"). While they had the advantage of a lift, this was not too difficult to by only jacking up the back end of the car a few inches (just make sure to secure it with jack stands). The hardest part was removing the two existing weld-nuts. I needed to use a dremel tool and a chisel to remove them. And unless you're an octopus, I recommend having someone help you hold the hitch into position while you get the first nuts threaded (it's more than 50 pounds). I was by myself and found it easier to get the right side started first because the muffler is not in the way on that side. This install can be done with a jack and jack stands, set of socket wrenches, dremel tool or grinding wheel, chisel, a hammer, and some kind of light to see what you're doing. I found a headlamp more effective than my trouble-light.This hitch fit my vehicle well and sturdily supports the Swagman bike rack I got with it. I just wish they had packaged it so it wouldn't have gotten scratched where it's most visible.

Installation was incredibly easy

This unit fit perfectly and was so easy to install,even I could do it.(Though it took me longer than the 40 minutes they quoted)The hardest part was getting the 2 new bolts threaded into the existing gunked up weld-nuts on the frame.Everything else slid right together.The spring steel fish wire that threads right onto the mounting bolts is a fantastic invention.

Installed on a 2006 Grand Prix GT

This receiver was fairly easy to install. I had to remove several exhaust hangers - you will need a jack or jack stands to let the exhaust sit on. Got the hitch up in place. But the kit did not include a fish-wire for the bolts that needed to be pulled into place from inside the frame along with some backing/reinforcing plates. I had one from a previous install. I don't think you could get them in without it. I was able to install it up in place by myself in my garage. I jacked up the car about 14". The hardest part of the install was drilling the two 1/2" holes thru the frame rail horizontally. The metal is a couple of layers thick and very hard.Once all the bolts were in, I torqued them to 70 ft-lb as in the instructions. The only minor complaint I have is that I think the receiver tube hangs a bit too low. It could easily be made to mount 3 inches higher. One other thing, the hole in the insert was far too close to the insert end. I had another hole added 3.5" further onto the square shaft. Now the ball is closer to the bumper and the torque on the hitch from the tongue weight is reduced.

Quiet interior pump

We use this pump to power an indoor fountain. It needs to raise the water about 7 feet, so this has sufficient head for this. We needed it quiet enough so that it didn't distract from the sound of the water flowing. It is the quietest pump I have found and fairly power efficient. This is the 4th one we have had and they seem to have a lifetime of about 2 years. We run it 24/7.

Toward the end of Spring this year of 2009 my wife was enjoying her porch and mentioned seeing a lot of ants all over the deck.

Toward the end of Spring this year of 2009 my wife was enjoying her porch and mentioned seeing a lot of ants all over the deck. I looked out in the garage and found a container of Ortho-Klor Termite and Carpenter Ant concentrate. We followed the directions on the package and sprayed it in a 2 1/2 gallon hand pump Hudson Sprayer. We sprayed the soil in front of and under the deck. The wand on the sprayer made that really convenient. Gives you great reach in tight spaces. We sprayed the foundation, the underside and top side of the deck and the lower few inches of the house siding where it joins the deck.. We have not seen an ant or any insect since. Today is the 25th of August 2009. For over 3 months we have been totally ant free. I had just commented on this yesterday to my sweetie how we haven't seen hide nor hair of any ants or such. I would imagine this would be a fabulous product for Floridians who have to deal with moisture and rain driving ants indoors. My son lives in Jupiter FLA and is having quite a problem so we recomended it to him today. He checked the write-ups on the net and said it is quite impressive. He is ordering some as we write. His reply to me regarding other products they tried was "We spent $65 2 weeks ago on insecticides for ants, and it looks like they are sunning themselves in it." Try the Ortho-Klor and be pleasantly surprised. My wife is very happy bout that. As the saying goes, if mama aint happy aint nobody happy! She real happy now. WELL IT'S NOW BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE WE LAST SPRAYED. SAW A COUPLE OF ANTS LAST WEEK AND SPRAYED AGAIN. GUESS WE SHOULD BE GOOD FOR ANOTHER THREE YEARS.Revisited 12-15-12Well we sprayed again this Spring and were ant free for the entire season.

Outstanding Product!

I was amazed to find a receiver hitch for a 10 year old Accord! The Curt hitch is very well made, finish seems to be powder coat. Instructions were clear and concise. The design and manner it fit the Honda was just perfect! And to make it even better...manufacturers label states...."proudly made in the USA" Installation was a snap.
