5Love the color change of the stones.
By G. Li
Alexandrite is one of my favorite stones to wear since it's my birthstone for June. Depending on what light you are looking at the stones it can be an aqua green or a deep purple.

5Treat this review as your bible to MP3 / multimedia shopping
By LS
OK, I did too much research on these devices ... so I am here to share :I will break down Pros / Cons / General Advice / Why Creative over an IPOD.OK ... giving this 5 stars, not because it is perfect ... only because *all things being equal*** it is best in its class.Pros - SMART drag / drop (which is HUGE if you were an 'old time original napster dude, where you downloaded everyone song you ever wanted, and still have the collection). SMART means this ... if you drag / drop music, pictures and video in one folder, it will ask you if you want Creative to put the files into the appropriate folders. And it does this well. Nice feature, if you have digital pics, and digital movie footage (from the same camera, in the same folder) ... you don't have to do the sorting yourself ... as it handles it for you. - long battery life - nice little speaker for 'preview' without having to block out the rest of the world with your headphones (useful if youare sharing family pics w/ your kids and don't want to depend on the headset) - nice HD screen BIG screen - nice wow factor - beautiful design - HUGE format replay support (like AVI, which none of the other players support, even the Vision M). AVI for me is huge, because I take a lot of digital camera movie clips, which are in AVI format. I wanted to be able to play these back, without having to convert, and this unit handles it. - removable battery - option for EXTENDED 28 hour battery life - fm, voice recorder - tv outputs - Can manage with what ever software you so desire ... (see cons on IPOD below).Cons - had to reset unit (remove battery, put battery back in) as the unit froze on me within 72 hour period (however, it ispossible that I had a corrupt MP3 that caused this ... and I did fill it up to 30% capacity and did a lot of moving of filesaround. Like any hard drive file system, this can cause some confusion to the underlying OS, so I am less concerned aboutthe freeze problem ... but will be keeping an eye on it) - headset does not make sense ... should have come with a right angle plug (minor, and a $20 fix ... just buy a pair of niceheadphones). The plug and its location is prone to become damaged (as it is right by the finger controls, and sticksstraight out ... very annoying). I replaced with a nice pair of Philips right angle plug headphones, which comes with a windcase, for easy travel (without the tangle). - like everyone said about the screen ... it is tough to view with 2 eyes ... let me explain ... (which by the way ... ifyou change the underlying skin to SILVER, versus the standard DARK BLUE, you will be in much better shape). Now, for theexplaination ...If you look with your left eye only ... you will notice a sweet spot when viewing. At that sweet spot, the picture will looklike a picture ... when out of that sweet spot, the black becomes 'shiny'. Now, when you are infocus with your left eye, close it, and open your right eye ... you will notice that your right eye sees the pic a bit shiny. If you adjust the viewangle with your right eye, your left eye will see that bit of shinyness ... and so, on. I am NOT sure what the folks ofcreative were smoking when they designed this screen, but it is tough on the eyes. NOT NOT NOT designed to watch a move, butdefinately has the WOW factor, because when you look at it, at a glance, the screen is NICE, almost HD. - If you use polarized lenses, when you are driving, don't even think of looking at the screen, because you wont seeANYTHING. Somehow, the polarization cancels out the view ENTIRELY. Not sure why, but it does. (Despite the screen flaws, - expensive (but only $80 more then the Vision M, which is a nice alternative, but does not have the replay speaker, the bigger screen or the extensive format repaly support.General AdviceDon't rely on MP3 tagging, because your songs will always be out of order. Create Playlists ... this way you can go to yourgroup of songs and can pinpoint any song you want in SECONDS, versus having to sort through incorrect Genre, mislabeled albumtitles, etc. It comes down to this ... label your songs yourself, don't depend on these unreliable MP3 tagging services, which will completely destroy the existing tags on you songset. I have a huge collection of howard stern comedy clips, andmp3 autotagging had these songs in ballet, soul, etc. And the funny thing is that these services claimed to have completed100% accurate tagging to my songs. B*&&S%$!. Stick to your own labeleing, and use playlists. I had over 1300 songsorganized in about 1 hour. Why Creative over an IPOD :OK, here is why. IN MY LIFE, I purchased 5 songs through IPOD. Notice the workd PURCHASED, meaning I OWN THEM. Would youbelieve that when I went to play those songs on another computer, I WAS REQUIRED TO LOG INTO ITUNES, to ACTIVATE THE APPROVALOF THOSE SONGS BEING PLAYED!!!!! Is that insane? Talk about big brother keeping tabs on the S&#! I purchased. I hate tosay this, but APPLE is for people that don't have brains. They are for people that don't want to think, and don't care toask questions, and don't care to understand. For those ... there is apple. For everyone else, CREATIVE understands yourpersonal needs, and also has a talented bunch of engineers that understand what an enthusiast REALLY wants. The CON howeverto buying the Creative is that you will have to use 5% of your brain. If that is OK with you, then this is the device foryou. If you don't want to use your brain, and want APPLE to do all of the thinking for you, buy an IPOD ...but beware whenyou 'upgrade your computer', and APPLE says there is a limit on how many computers you can play your 'PURCHASED' songs on.ALSO, why this over an IPOD : - built in speaker - nice HD screen, especially if you are a PROUD parent, and want to keep every digital picture of your kids in your shirtpocket, as well as your full MP3 list. - TV output, to share slideshows with your family - EXCELLENT support : Creative picked up the phone BEFORE I purchased the product, as well as after I purchased the product. BOTH times, I was treated fairly, respectfully, and was helped. STELLAR. - bad replay support on the IPOD, as it isn't a generic multimedia device. - IPOD doesn't have FM tuner, doesn't have voice recorder (which is awesome by the way), doesn't have TV output, doesn't have removable battery - With IPOD, you better love ITUNES, because you have no choice but to be married to it. Not very American, is it?? Kind of like a fixed marriage. With the Creative unit, you can use what ever you desire (its own software, drag / drop within windows, Mozilla firefox, Windows Media Player, etc.)Got to go folks, there are probably more items, but my fingers hurt from too much typing.

3nearly there
By Cheryl Carruth
Creative nearly hit bullseye with this device. It's perfectly sized, easy to use, and has plenty of capacity. Images are crisp and colors rich, but the unit falls just short with a narrow viewing angle and sluggish navigation.First, the bad. The screen is uncomfortable to watch head on. The left tilt helps but it's still not satisfactory. In addition, my unit has several tiny starlike specs that distract me from my movie. Compared to my HP iPaq, the unit takes time to boot and navigation is much slower. Finally, I don't understand their claim to support a variety of formats. For some of my movie clips, like from my digital camera, I can play them right away on my PC on Windows Media Player 10 but have to go through a conversion process to play them on the Creative. And the conversion lowers the quality of the file. Now for the good. 30GB holds a lot of portable movies. Navigation is a breeze. The sound is wonderful and the screen displays color beautifully, with sharp clean images. The file management software is straightforward. The unit is well constructed and feels good in the hand. Now for a word about getting content onto your portable video player. There's always CinemaNow. But if you want to watch the DVDs you own, you've got to rip. Creative includes Video Vault demo software to help get your movies portable, and it's pretty good. I prefer it to the software called "DVD to Pocket PC" because it's more stable. The downside is it creates much larger files (an average movie is 600MB rather than 300MB).To get DVDs onto the Creative using the demo software, you have to(1) rip the DVD into a file format the demo software will accept (I use DVD Shrink freeware)(2) use the demo software to convert that ripped file (2-5GB) into a portable movie file (400-800MB) to put onto the Creative. This step takes 1-3 hours per movie, so I run it overnight. To get TV onto the Creative, it's helpful to have a Media Center PC with a DVR. This way you can move recorded TV shows to the Creative and watch them on the go.Yes, this is all very time consuming work, but no different than ripping your CDs to create an mp3 music library. Using this process, one snag I haven't figured out yet is how to get my 16x9 (and wider) movies to play in the correct aspect ratio on the Creative Zen Vision. It ends up being slightly stretched top to bottom. Thankfully, the stretch isn't so bad.For me the results of all this digital transfer are worth the effort. It's a blast to have this on a trip. The Creative Zen Vision is a pioneer product and a fun toy for the electronics enthusiast.update: I solved my 16x9 problem. The full version of Video Vault software (whose demo is included with the Zen Vision) has an option for 4:3 or 16:9. This is the best program I've found for converting movies into portable-sized files.

5Great product - read the manual
By William A. Nolan
I started looking at items like this one because I wanted a device I could use to store my photos while traveling without lugging a notebook computer around. When I picked this one, I think I made a great choice.Mainly, in this review, I want to address some misconceptions found in other reviews. First, the screen: The viewing angle is not an issue at all. I was amazed to see what is said in some of the reviews. It is a one-person device, but I can move my head several inches in any direction without problems. The screen is amazingly sharp and clear, and easily visible even in bright sunlight.Second, you CAN use this as a removable drive. You simple set that up under the extras menu, make sure you have navigated to the removable drive screen on the Vision, and then plug it into a computer. It will come up as a removable drive under My Computer. It works fine. All I had to do to find out about this was read the manual. It also works fine to store my photos. It's easy, fast, and SMALL, being about the size of a deck of cards. The 30 gigs is enough space for even a pretty long trip, and I take a LOT of photos with a 7 MP camera.I had no trouble transferring my movies to this, either. I have a very large collection of DVDs, and I wanted to be able to watch them while traveling. I am using a program called Magic DVD Ripper to convert them, and it is easy. It does take about an hour for my computer to do the conversion. The battery is removable, so you can, if you like, carry a second one. Try that with an Ipod. All in all, I haven't found much of anything to complain about.

5Needle In a Haystack...FOUND!
By Danielle Torres
Long ago, we had purchased our dinette set from a furniture discounter. After many card parties, dinner parties, game nights, and double-occupancies (couples sitting on each others' laps, etc.) the chairs collapsed one by one not to be saved by our several Gorilla Glue attempts. The table is still in excellent condition so our only option was to find chairs in the same stain and since we still had one-and-a-half good chairs out of the set we wanted to match the same arrow back style. We'd searched bricks and mortar locations high and low to no avail. Finally, I did a search with the parameters that we needed (arrow back, natural oak) and we found exactly what we needed!!!The price was a steal, and the shipping was timely! (Just in time for another of my husband's poker parties!) Assembly for the four chairs was simple enough and completed by the two of us in just about an hour. Our expectations are realistic, these, too, won't last forever, but they matched our two remaining chairs almost perfectly and they should last us a few more years of card parties, game nights, dinner parties and (newly added to our lifestyle) kid-climbing, standing, and booster-chairing it!Bottom line...Great value for the money, but don't expect them to last a lifetime, or to hold your 400 pound friend for any longer than a few sittings.

The chairs are very sturdy and very easy to assemble. In time the chairs can become a little unsteady. To correct you can easily tighten all of the bolts on the bottom of the chairs.

34 wooden chairs
By Veronica Gonzalez Chagin
The 4 wooden chairs are ok for the price paid. The seat is not very comfortable so prepare to invest in cushions afterwards. Some of them are not very stable and there is no protection at the bottom of the legs so there might be some floor damage after some years of use. Overall, the chairs are ok.

5The Best of the Many Wafflers I've Used
By Prime Chuck
I've acquired quite a collection of new and used waffle makers in my quest to find a unit that meets my very demanding needs, and this is the first unit that has ever completely satisfied me. Modern machines offer the convenience of timed baking, superior non-stick grids (that don't rust lke old machines) and warning buzzers, but generally at the expense of lower wattage. At 1750 watts, this is the most powerful unit in my collection. It also has the best non-stick grids, which never require cooking oil, not even the first time. This unit even beat the KitchenAid KPWB100NP Pro Line Waffle Baker, which disappointed me. The Wafflepro M850 is the most versatile unit I've ever used. The reason I say that my needs are demanding is that I try and produce healthy waffles, using whole grain batters, low fat or even fat-free batters, sugar-free batters, etc. Sugar aids in browning, and oil aids in crisping. Most wafflers have trouble browning and crisping batters that are lower in or lacking these types of ingredients. Heavy batters such as whole wheat often come out doughy as well, in lower wattage units. I've cooked whole wheat, oat bran, traditional buttermilk, fat free, sugar free, chocolate chip and other batters in this unit and am able to produce not only waffles with crisp exteriors and soft interiors (as advertised) but everything in between. You can produce waffles with textures ranging from damp sponges to bricks with a variety of batters in this waffler. At the uniform setting and mid-range temperature you can produce them with the texture of an ice cream cone, without being hard or burnt, which is kind of neat. It's very fast, at the settings I normally use it takes 2 minutes to produce an 8 1/2 inch square waffle, and 90 second if I'm in the mood for a less crisp waffle. It actually ends up being faster than the comparably priced KitchenAid model that cooks two at once since that unit is slower to heat and cook. Unlike the KitchenAid, this one has both temperature and time adjustments, whereas the KitchenAid only has variable timing. The KitchenAid will produce a taller waffle however (at 1 1/4 inch) due to it's flip nature, whereas this one produces waffles that are 7/8 inches tall, which is taller than standard waffles but not as tall as most flip-style belgian units. I use "tall" instead of thick and thin, as I reserve those terms for the thickness of the waffle walls. This unit produces thinner waffle walls due to its slightly more squared grid pattern, which allows for more texture versatility. I like the shape of the grid pattern very much, but others may prefer the thicker waffle walls of most other belgian waffle makers. And if you want waffles that are taller than 7/8 inches thick you'll need a flip-style unit.I also have a Chef's Choice WafflePro M840 machine, the Five of Hearts style, for use when I want something with a smaller grid pattern. It's a nice unit, and powerful in its class at 1100 watts, although I find the extra wattage of the M850 helpful for my needs. The M840 series also lacks the LED timer of this unit, but that's more of a handy convenience than a necessity. The M840 series is a great unit for the casual waffler (the M840B is the belgian style unit which I haven't tried but appears comparable to the M840 heart style unit) and produces nicely textured waffles for most traditional batters. But if you're a hardcore waffle lover that's counting calories to boot, the M850 is worth the (much) higher price to get the added texture capability. For me at least, the search for the perfect waffle iron/baker/maker has ended.

4Works Fine For Me
By JeremyLC
I used a recipe out of the back of the instruction book and only the first waffle came out too crispy. So, I used the temperature dial and turned the heat down. The next waffle came out perfect. Now, I leave the settings where they are and all the waffles I cook come out soft in the middle with the perfect crunch on the outside. The 2-minute cook time is FAST.I don't try to store hot food in warming drawers or ovens; personally I prefer to eat my food freshly cooked. No matter how it's cooked or stored, if you store hot food the quality is going down quickly. The instruction booklet says to use 1 cup of batter, I found that to be too little so I use a bit more and have no problems. Overflow is not an issue since there is a handy ridge that collects it. As soon as the batter dries in there it flakes right off. Also there is not really a chance of getting batter on the controls.Although it is not submersible, this wafflemaker is still easy to clean. After your last batch of waffles, leave it on and put in several tablespoons of water. Close the lid, let it run for a single 2-minute cycle, and unplug the thing. When it cools if there is anything left it will wipe off easily with a paper towel. This thing cooks big waffles. I cook 3 waffles and it is more than my family of 4 can eat. Personally I eat 1 full waffle to myself, everyone else seems to like just a couple of the 1/4 sections.PROS- Cooks waffles well, with a wide variety of settings for individual taste- Easy to clean- Good instructions- Cooks large waffles- Cooks them FAST; I wouldn't want it much faster than 2 minutes.- Power cord stores underneath, wrapped upCONS- Costs a lot- Power cord is a little short- Not submersible in water for cleaning

5Waffles won't make it to the table
By CTRaider
We have searched for almost 19 years of our marriage for a waffle maker like this!We have purchased the cheap ones to the REALLY expensive ones and NONE has come close to getting the color of the exterior right along with being crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Most of the time if you try to get the outside crunchy the waffle maker just burns it and dries out the inside. This one does not but cooks them perfect.Matter of fact the first time we used the waffle maker my wife and I hadn't planned on calling the kids to the table untill we were done making the waffles. Well we tasted the very first one. Wow it was good! By the time my wife and I finished sharing the first one standing there at the counter the next one was ready (they say this thing is fast at making waffles and they are not kiddin'). So since the next one was hot we shared that one. And so on and so on till we were full. We never made it to the table. We just buttered some pieces and dipped them in our homemade maple syrup. I think we ate half of them just plain. After we were full we called in the kids (15 and 19 yrs old) and they finally got to eat. They loved them just as much as we did.As for changing the settings. It is very simple to get the results you want. We didn't have to fiddle hardly at all to get what I described above.I couldn't reccommend this Chefs Choice waffle maker more. Just make sure it's the right model with the temp settings on the right and it makes 1 square waffle with 4 connected sections.

5A fantastic waffle press!
By J. Thompson
This waffle iron is great, and I've had several different brands/models so I speak from past experience (I make waffles at least twice a week). It heats up quickly and the controls are very logical. The darkness adjustment has a very nice range - from VERY light to quite dark. If your waffle recipe has no sugar at all, I suggest adding just a tad to aid browning. Without sugar, it is difficult for proper caramelization to occur. This waffler has great audible signals, so you can make waffles while you're walking around the kitchen doing other stuff - there's no need to watch for a light to turn off. That is a feature I especially enjoy, because it's quite boring to sit and watch a waffle maker cook or wait for it to heat up. I whip up my waffle batter and start making waffles while I'm preparing the rest of breakfast. When I hear a beep, I turn around, pull the waffle out, add more batter, and go back to what I was doing. To get the most enjoyment from your waffler, I recommend purchasing a portioning scoop. A scoop will change your life when making waffles and pancakes - measuring cups just don't work a tenth as well. A #10 scoop is just about perfect, because if you fill it up with thick waffle batter and don't level it off, you'll get almost a perfect half-cup of batter, which is exactly what this waffler handles well. A #12 is fine too, but you will have to really overload it if you don't want to leave any space. A #8 is too big - it would need to be leveled off, which is a messy pain. This waffler will make perfect waffles with no incomplete edges if you have a properly leavened recipe and use exactly 1/2 cup of batter. The shape of these waffles were a surprise to me - I was expecting a thicker Belgian waffle of the type you see in restaurants. Instead, these waffles are more like large Eggo waffles and are just over one-half inch thick. I was actually happy to see that, as Belgian waffles are not preferred by waffle connoisseurs because they don't have the right interior-exterior balance. In my opinion, these waffles are PERFECTLY shaped and just the right thickness. They also split apart nicely without tearing, which is nice if you only want a half-waffle.Finally, this waffler is quite easy to clean. If you stick to the half-cup rule, you will very rarely have overflow, and in that case it has a nice channel to catch the drips, which usually end up cooked anyway and easily lift off with the waffle. One last thing - here's the recipe I recommend using with this waffler. I've had great results with it. I will assume you properly know how to mix together ingredients (i.e., wet and dry mixed separately, then put together until moist but still lumpy - DON'T OVERMIX). Wet: 1 3/4 c. buttermilk or homemade yogurt, two eggs, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 4 tbsp. melted butter. Dry: 2 c. unbleached flour, 3/4 tsp. baking soda. These ingredients yield enough batter for about 7 waffles with this waffle maker, and each waffle will have about 250 calories. These waffles freeze very well if you let them air-dry on a rack and then stack them up in a freezer bag; they come apart easily while frozen, just reheat in a toaster oven for easy and quick morning breakfasts. There is NO REASON to buy supermarket frozen waffles anymore!Safety note: Probably not a great appliance for kids to use alone, as the top and bottom both get very hot and the top swings free when the lid is open.

4Decent for the price, but check out the M840 and M850 also
By Prime Chuck
This is a very good waffle iron for its price class. Fairly powerful and versatile. But it can't compare to it's much pricier and superior sibling, the M850. If you are a waffle fanatic and can afford it, I recommend the M850, it cooks hotter, makes bigger waffles, etc. In this price range I prefer this unit's heart style sibling, the M840 (yes I actually really own all three models - waffles are a passion of mine). The reason I like it better is that the grid holes are smaller which lends itself better to softer waffles, especially ones with chocolate chips, blueberries or other ingredients that taste better when baked within the dough as opposed to being fried against the waffle iron plating. Sometimes a doughier softer waffle is just fun too, and the M840 does that best because of it's smaller grid indents. Sometimes a crisper well done waffle hits the spot and the M850 does that best because of its higher wattage and larger fancier grid plates. The M840B doesn't crisp as much as the M850, yet will burn chocolate chips, blueberries, etc. more than the M840 because of the larger belgian grid pattern increasing the waffle iron plating exposure to the batter. So, although a good waffle iron, it represents a compromise. If you really like the larger belgian grid pattern to hold more syrup or toppings, and don't want to invest in a high priced unit like the M850, this is a good one. If you prefer traditional waffles, the M840 heart style is probably a better choice (it's essentially a normal waffle grid pattern with the squares squished into diamond shapes). If you want the power to make a truly crisp or ice cream cone textured waffle, then the M850 is the necessary choice. I've been using mine daily for quite a few months and had no problems. The brand seems to be well thought out and the build quality seems more than adequate. Whichever model you pick, enjoy! A good waffle for breakfast is a great way to get the day started right.

4Good waffle maker, but want to set the record straight...
By MLB
First waffle maker we've had and we couldn't be happier. I disagree with some reviews and feature lists I've read. I do like this waffle iron and would purchase again, but to set the record straight:- Clean up is easy, even if you spill a little into the overflow, everything wipes up with a paper towel (just need to be sure you spray/oil before the first time you use the waffle iron (may not be necessary with the non-stick coating but it is recommended)- The more crisp setting still leaves the middle moist - it does not crisp all the way through, but the texture is still great- The color is not quite uniform on any of the color settings - going to a higher setting does produce a darker waffle but the edges do not cook as much as the middle (heat distribution could be better, but it is cooked through)- The cord does not retract. I read a description that said it had a retractable cord. The cord wraps/winds around the bottom for easy storage.

This was a great purchase!!! Let's face it...who likes to file? Not me and since I had an inexpensive metal file cabinet, it wasn't very inviting so I decided I needed something nicer and well I'm keeping all my receipts filed an organized..Best purchase!!!!!!

4Great timeclock... until you replace the ink ribbon
By Albion Aaron
This time clock is very easy to use. We opened the box, plugged it in, set the time zone, and it was running. However, when you go to replace the ink ribbon, the machine is very delicate. Just the slightest movement in the wrong direction and the machine stops printing. When I called customer service, I was informed that the unit's control board has broken, most likely cracked or received a surge.
