5Very Impressed with this Little Heater
By stan_cooper
Fahrenheat Ceiling-Mount Industrial Heater - 7500 Watt, Model# FUH724This couldn't have been easier. I chose this heater over a gas model because I had a 220 run right by where I wanted to mount it, but no gas lines even near my garage. There was also a junction box right there that supplies power to my shed (a 2 fuse sub panel for lights and a couple of outlets). My garage is a 2 1/2 car measuring about 34' x 28' with insulation in the walls, but the rafters and ceiling are open. My goal was never to get the entire garage up to 70 degrees and keep it there for the winter, but merely to get it above 55 for about a week so I could finish staining and varnishing the trim work and jams for the windows I replaced a couple of months ago.My first impression when I picked up the 29 lb. box that was smaller than any computer box I've had in recent years was that there is no way this little heater is going to be able to do the job, but I proceeded anyway thinking that for the price I could get a second one. I ran 10-3 from the junction box down to a wall switch and then back up to where I mounted the heater (with the breaker off). It has very straight forward wiring and simple instructions that were very easy to follow. I flipped on the breaker, fired up the heater, and put it on high thinking that this little guy would probably struggle, but I was very surprised that after about a minute it started cranking out some serious heat. I turned it down about half-way and hung a thermometer at the other end of the garage. The outside temp was around 45 and within an hour or so it was 65 in my garage. I ended up turning it down to low and even with the overnight temp getting into the low 30s my garage has maintained 60 to 70 degrees with no problem. It's been a little over a week since I got the heater and put it in place and my staining has turned out awesome!

5Great little heater with a pleasant surprise
By More Cowbell
After reading other reviews of this heater, I chose this as the solution for heating my detached workshop.I had read that the spacing inside was a little tight for wiring the power cord, and this was indeed true. Not a huge deal, but could have been laid out a little better. More frustrating was that the knockout for the 1" access hole was very difficult to remove -- much more difficult than in other service panels I've used. One half of it tapped loose pretty easily, but the other half would not even pry out without deforming the side wall of the case a bit A few taps with some body hammers and it was back in shape. That could have been easier, though. One pleasant surprise I found when reading the included manual is that the unit can easily be configured for any of the following wattages: 3750, 5000, 6250, and 7500. I almost bought the smaller 5000 W unit because I was concerned that my 70 A service to my shop might not be enough to power this heater, air compressor, and other power tools I often use. Now that its installed, it appears to not be a problem, but I wish I had known that it was configurable like this as I would not have hesitated at all buying this bigger unit. If it does trip my main breaker, I can just move a wire jumper or two and lower the heater's power consumption. Brilliant. Of course, it would then put out fewer BTU's, but that's the tradeoff. In general, I'm impressed with the unit's construction and performance. The fan moves a good amount of air and it fairly quickly raised the temperature of my 864 sq ft shop to a comfortable level. Yes, there are hot and cold spots due to lack of general air circulation, but that could be rectified with small fans in a couple of strategic locations. Using an infrared temperature meter I measured the temp of the floor to be about 47 degrees, objects at mid-height at about 55 degrees, and the ceiling in the middle of the room a toasty 70. That's with the heater thermostat set on one notch above the LO setting (and it's now 25 degrees outside). I'm confident this heater could bring my work space up to 60 or 70 if the thermostat was set higher. I'm anxious to do that test on the next really cold day (has been pretty mild so far this winter). Keep in mind my walls and overhead door are insulated. It would probably not do so well if that wasn't the case. I might consider blowing insulation in the attic space now that I have heat to keep in.I would definitely recommend this heater to anyone looking for a heating solution for their unheated space.

4Good for modest needs
By rickirick
I needed to heat an un-insulated 2.5 car garage in the Chicago area, enough to do some wood work over the winter months. I picked this model since it was 50% more powerful than the 5000 watt heater that many reviewed. (I knew from on-line heat calculators that I needed as much heat as I could afford for my set up.)It requires 8/2 wire, with 240v 40 amp circuit. (It actually uses about 32 amps.) I ran 8/3 (since 8/2 wasn't easily available), and installed a 50 amp outlet & cord. (40 amp outlets are not a common size.)The unit itself is industrial, as advertised. It is smaller than you might expect for 7500 watts. A few suggestions for improvement:1. Instructions are poorly illustrated.2. Instructions state that 10 gauge wire can be used for the supply circuit, but 8 gauge is the proper size. (The wiring diagram inside the unit correctly states 8 gauge.)3. There are two knock-outs for the power supply cable, one on the back, one on the left. Only one of these two is really large enough for a pre-assembled 50 amp supply cord. This will not be a problem if you are instead running 8/2 or 8/3 directly to the unit.4. The connection terminals in the unit would be much easier to use if not located in the back corner of the unit.5. Ability to connect remote thermostat would be nice. (Might be possible; if so, not explained in instructions.)6. Would be nice to have LED indicating that unit is on.How does it work? Well, I knew that it would be somewhat undersized for my needs, but I have to say I was underwhelmed when I first turned it on--the heat is noticeable only within a very small area directly in front of the unit. The fan is rated at 2x the CFM of the 5000 watt unit, so I expected the airflow to be noticeable more than 10' from the unit.To illustrate how far undersized 7500 watts is for my needs, I turned the unit on and left the garage door closed and waited to see how long it would take for the garage to heat up. After two hours the snow finally fell off the two cars. 24 hours later the snow that fell off the cars had not yet melted! There wasn't really a huge amount of snow to melt, and the outdoor temperature during this test was not all that cold (about 25 degrees), so even leaving the unit on for extended periods does very little to heat the garage.Overall, the unit is as advertised but could use some minor improvements. It is not well-suited for un-insulated garages, but that is not a fault of the unit itself.

5WOW - Love It
By V. Finch
Picked this up to replace the older Shure lapel mic we used at my church. I was totally blown away with the sound quality and usability of this mic combo set. I like the fact that this unit has an auto-scan feature - making pairing of units brainless. The lapel mic is so much beefier than previous models I've used. The handheld mic is nice too - haven't used it a whole lot yet.I also like how the receiver unit fits in my rack - half of a 1U space - made so that you can add a second receiver on the other side of that same rack space. Shure really got this one right. I'm planning on getting a second receiver within the next few months.

4Industry Standard
By cswadner
The SLX124/85/SM58 combo is exactly what you need for any setup requiring handheld and/or lav mic'ing. SM58 is a solid mic, always has been and sounds great on vocals. Save yourself the heartache and don't even bother with the cheaper items out there. Be sure with shure!

5An Unbeatable Value
By Nathan A. Edwards
This instrument might actually be in a class of its own. That is, it would be extremely difficult to find a guitar in this price band that comes even remotely close in terms of quality; not only with regard to craftsmanship, but certainly the sound it produces. The Applause exceeds expectation whether it is unplugged, amplified, or even run directly through a mixer. Beyond sounding comparatively spectacular, it is far more durable than perhaps any other hollow-bodied instrument on the market due to its components and design. The electronics are reliable and the instrument is accessible, or playable, to even the most novice of musicians. This guitar is the ideal instrument for a beginner or a younger musician, simply because it is cost efficient, durable, and as easy to play for the price as one might be able to find anywhere. Even experienced guitarists will almost certainly appreciate its action, sound and durability if not only for the purposes of practice and travel. This is an exceptional value and an excellent instrument.

4Great Selection for My First Guitar
By Musicnista
During my first lesson, my guitar teacher allowed me to practice with his Ovation Applause. I loved the sound and how it snugly fit in my lap. I purchased this model after my first lesson and have never been disappointed. The sound quality is smooth and even. The look and feel is not cheap, but sturdy and attractive. If you're starting out, don't buy one of those $100 Guitar Packages but spend a few extra dollars and purchase this one. You won't regret it.

5Small, nice and light. Beautiful
By V. D. Alfred
Just what I expected. I ordered the natural color one, and I'm satisfied. It is a beautiful designed, ultra-light, low-action, and great-sounding instrument. Acoustic or electrically. You can't miss. For the price, it is a great bargain. Great for recording.Of course, if you expect something to beat $1000+ guitars, then you will be dissapointed. But if you want an easy-carry, great sounding and nice looking guitar, this is the one.

5Perfect Snare
By D Reed
All of the things you have ever heard about the black beauty is right on target. The ghost notes on this snare are phenominal, and the crack of the rim shot is both woody and snappy because of the brass.Just the right mix between deep and bright and absolutely no tweaking is needed to keep the tight snare sound. There is a reason this snare has been used in so many studio recordings. Ludwig's best product. You will not be disappointed.

4Very nice modern wood stove
By TBuns
We have used this stove in a 2200 sq ft central MN home for about 2/3 of a heating season and are happy with it.I too rec'd the T-stat and fan options. Although they don't move a lot of air away from the stove they do help significantly and will do so quietly at up to 2/3 output on the rheostat speed control. It's a very modern design with secondary combustion, a tight seal, easy ash disposal and a nice door window that stays clean fairly well once the new paint and metal oils have baked off (2 weeks or so of medium fires). We got it for $1000 (+tax) locally and moved it ourselves. It is about 500 lbs so get a good 2 wheeler with straps or 2 husky men to move it. You can easily pay about $2000 for a similar quality stove. It looks real nice too although its not in the catagory of a "decorator appliance". It can put out a lot of heat and hold a lot of fuel. It is capable of keeping our home warm for 8 hours in -F temps and have enough coals left to refuel without relighting (using a good seasoned hardwood like oak, maple, elm. etc.). Soft woods would be OK for less demanding needs (less hours of less output). Getting up midevening or relighting on chilly mornings gets to be a pain after a few years. Its a XLG stove and I wouldn't put it into a situation where it heats less than 1500 sq ft. It would overheat it or smolder too much at the min. setting.I wish the design had a T-stat bimetal inlet damper feature. It does not and is not available. I would consider that to be a very nice improvement.

4Good replacement unit
By Alan P. Biddle
I have two kerosene heaters, a Robeson (K-Mart) which is 25+ years old, and a Kerosun which is about 10 years old. Both work perfectly, year after year, with minimal starting and no operating odor, even with old kerosene. (I do add kerosene treatment which seems to stabilize the kerosene and claims to reduce the odor.) However, the Robeson does not have a cartridge tank, and I got tired of lugging it outside to refill. The Kerosun spoiled me.The CT-1100 arrived promptly, and seems to be intermediate in quality between the Robeson and Kerosun. As expected it was smelly for the first few hours, but no significant smoke starting or stopping. After doing a dry wick burn, there is still a slight but annoying odor when operating. If I did not have the other two, I would probably consider it normal. After setting the wick, I regularly get 18+ hour burn times, which compares with the Kerosun which has the same size tank. I plan to work with it for the rest of the season, and if the odor continues, will replace the wick when warmer weather arrives. It definitely seems flimsier than those in the other two heaters. So far no real problems with good heat output and much greater convenience and safety. It compares well with the Kerosun in design, though the sheet metal is clearly of a lighter but completely acceptable gauge.

210600 btu kerosene heater
By John J.
bought two of these heaters both are the same one branded mega heat andthe other heat mate, both work as they should except the both give offodor while burning, i have two other convection style heaters that haveno smell while running, but these two radiant models do give off odor.i have dry burned the wick, unit has been adjusted just as manual saysred from top to bottom with blue flame on top , but smell is still there.any ideas to get rid of smell would be welcome, get about 11 to 12 hoursburn time from full tank, if i could get rid of odor the would be greatbuy, stick with convection type kerosene heaters they seem to burn cleaner.add on one year later, i changed the wick that came with heater to betterquality wick from miles stair wick shop , odor is no longer a problem iwas told cheap wicks are thinner and allow smell, better wicks are thicker and fill channel tighter so no smell comes through, with this newwick heater works perfectly with no odor, check out miles stair wick shopfor tons of free info on kerosene heaters.

5Good Heater, Cheap, Many Saftey Features.
By Bryan Billiet
This KeroHeat Ct-1100 Must be seasoned before normal use (all kerosene heaters do). Like a cast iron pan if you skip this it will smell and smoke. [...]. I did what the site said, and I have been quite pleased with my results. What you do is, start with a quarter tank of Kerosene, burn the heater on high for about a half hour, until the top plate is red hot. Back to low for a hour. Finally back to high for a hour and let run out of fuel. I use CLEAR kerosene and the deodorant additive as well. Don't get too fixed on a certain sent, this unit is too efficiant and you will not have the sent filling the air in your home. I also recommend the KeroHeat HMN-110 radiant and KeroHeat CV-2230 convection. **Dont forget to run the Humidifire in your home**
