5Suddenly It Just Happened........The Happening
By Motown Fan
The Happening shines on this release. The instruments and horns on the track are so clear you'll think it was being recorded right before your very eyes. Love the karaoke track which features the pure and powerful voices of Florence and Mary. The lead vocal sounds stunningly perfect and clear too, but when listening to it alone, it almost sounds like Miss Diane hits some questionable notes. Love both versions and all 3 Supremes. Great job remastering and remixing this classic, it's never sounded better.

5TMC Epic Phone System
By D. N. David
I have 8 TMC Phones in my home. 4 ET 4300 and the earlier model ET 4000. These phones are mostly the same except for cosmetics. The EV 4500 adds an auto attendant and voice mail but is otherwise the same phone. You might think it's crazy to have 8 of these in a home enviornment...but the flexibilty and usefulness of these phones is wonderful. I originally bought 2, then 2 more than 4 more. I have a home office, a mother-in-law, kids...and these phones have an outstanding intercome feature, music on hold, custom ringers (so I don't answer when it's for grandma), a built in directory available to all units...you can customize which phones ring on what lines, page the whole house...the features are easy and endless and I use most of them. The intercom feature alone, because its an auto answer intercome (meaning you can set it so you don't have to pick up the handset to answer) that alone makes it all worth it. Great for a small business; but the best feature is talking on the intercome while in the kitchen and cooking! The first 2 units I've had for 5+ years and they've all been reliable. Don't hesitate. Nice company too when you have a question.

3Screechy Sounding Phone Buttons
By TechRptr
Well, I got six of these phones at the same time about a week ago and I was a little surprised/disappointed by the noise generated by pushing the speakerphone and line buttons: Essentially a significant unpleasant screech/static-like sound was emitted. Having had panasonic, siemens and avaya system phones previously, this was something I didn't think was normal. I called the manufacturer and was told that it was not a defect, but "the nature of the beast." While I haven't had sufficient time to report whether the phones are otherwise satisfactory, most reasonable people I think would expect a new quality business phone to *not* have the somewhat irritating contact noise. Over time, heavy usage, dust, etc., many phones eventually can develop the contact noise (heard on the speaker when pressing line and speakerphone buttons etc). If your backdrop is a particularly quiet one (patient reception-room area), this is more than just a passing annoyance. I suggest anyone wanting to buy this phone should check it out in-person at their local retailer first.

2Generally works well, but has some serious flaws
By wrecks
Bought this phone in January 2011. Generally works well. Sound quality is good. Speaker phone is very good. You can use the handset, speaker, or headset.However...1. When you pick up the handset to make a call, the phone selects a line that is not in use. Good. But when there is an incoming call and you pick up the handset, it does the same thing -- so you get a dial tone! It should select the line that is ringing! This is a BIG pain.2. The memory for frequently called numbers is very limited.3. When you play a message that was received by the answering system, the caller id information does not appear. Most phones show you the number while the message plays, and allow you to just pick up the handset to return the call. Not this phone.4. When the power goes out, the phone forgets the time and date. (This is despite having a backup battery.) When the next call comes in, it picks up the time and date from the caller id. HOWEVER, it does not understand the YEAR, and defaults to 2006. Thereafter, when it plays messages, it says the day of the week that the message was received -- but that day is wrong -- it's from 2006!I'm going back to Panasonic.

4works
By J. Kline
The only issue I have with this is that it can only be an inswing. Or at least that is what it says. I mounted it as an outswing and it seems to work. I had to use different hinges, but that was all. The instructions don't tell you the correct way to put the cable clip on (never saddle a dead horse) and they need to include a thimble with the cable clip. In general a good product.

5Problem Solved!!
By AJS
I have a 62 inch opening off my deck that I needed to install a swing gate to retain my dog. One side of the opening is the house; the other is a 6x6 vertical post. The adjust-a-gate installed on the 6x6 post with ease and swings effortlessly. This is a engineering marvel. I was looking at doing the gate in wood but the stress on the hinges would have been too much for the length. I even thought of putting a caster on the bottom of the gate to help with the weight. I decided to go with the adjust-a-gate instead and it's worth every penny. Easy to install - just make sure you have the right sized drill bit. I finished mine with vertical spindles (1/2" x 1") and installed a cross beam to cover the wire (I used a wood router to carve out for the turnbuckle and clamp). I will be ordering two more for my dog pen.

3Wanted to love it, but it made me grumpy.
By Rustin Jessen
This is a great product idea with fair execution. I ordered two units to create a double swinging driveway gate. The packaging was terrible. Both arrived with the flimsy box ripped open, powder coating scrapped off in several places, and one frame actually bent. I would have returned it or exchanged it, but my timeline wouldn't allow. I ended up bending things back into shape as best I could to move forward. This left me with the disappointing feeling that I was putting a flimsy frame at the core of my gate.Once things were as straight and true as I could get them, installation was exactly as advertised. The hardest part was making sure my measurements were correct. Beyond that it went together wonderfully. One note... I realized that both my units were mis-labeled with a "latch side" sticker placed on the hinge side of the frame. This meant that I installed both frames backwards, and only realized it when it was time to install the anti-sag cable. If I had followed the labels, the cable would have been forcing the latch side into the ground, not lifting it. Thankfully, the hinges are simple to remove and swap. Some wasted time, but glad I didn't get further into the process before noticing.Once the frames were installed, and the wood facing was put on the gate I was very happy with how things were getting on. I noticed one side sagging just a bit after about two hours. When I went to tighten the cable just a bit (maybe one and a half turns) the factory crimped end snapped out. The cable didn't break, but slid out of the flimsy metal crimp making a loop in that end of the cable. Due to this I'll be removing both factory cables and replacing with a thicker gauge, and hand tightened saddle type holds.I would absolutely use the adjust-a-gate system for smaller gates. It's a really fast and simple way to build a gate with a nice system to keep it from sagging. If I have another wide driveway gate to do, I'll have a similar, but more sturdy, frame made by a local welder. Like I said. totally love the concept, and wanted to love the product... but flimsy stock and faulty construction made me grumpy.

5Fantastic product
By Daniel Jacobsen
My Adjust-A-Gate arrived within days of order it. Amazing. It came well packaged, with all parts separately wrapped. The instructions were as clear as could be made in print. As with all instructions; read them through completely, examining each part and screw to become familiar with the order of construction. I have two more gates to replace, and will be ordering more Adjust-A-Gates.

4nice option
By gate
Gate was easy to install, sag is adjustable. My only complaint is that the gate can only open one way (in) and the other side cannot be flush with the posts. Gate latch seems cheap also. Everything else seemed a good quality.

5Easy install, works as expected.
By Tom P
I put this in to replace a 45 year old Broan exhaust fan. The fact that the prior fan lasted so long encouraged me to find another Broan. The fact that this fan was about the best priced basic 36" Stainless Steel I could find sealed the deal.Installation was very easy as I already had the duct work in place. The "walls" of the fan are a bit thin, so caution is needed when installing. However, this is labeled their "economy" fan, so that is definately expected. It is not whisper quiet, but I think the noise level is fair for this price point.I would not recommend this to somebody remodeling thier kitchen and wants some lower priced "nice stuff". Spend the extra $100 or so and get the next level up. For my situation where I am holding off on putting anything "real nice" in the kitchen and I had to replace an old exhaust fan that broke with bad timing as we plan our remodel, it was perfect.

5Simple and sweet
By C. Murphy
This range hood moves plenty of air for our needs (it does move fewer CFS than some other models - which might be an issue depending on how you cook). It was easy to install and works as promised (I am using the top 7" round vent option). My only complaint is that the box isn't well padded, so the hood arrived with a dent on the front. It's too heavy to bother shipping back for something that is only cosmetic, but it was disappointing. The light cover isn't very fancy, but we bought some of the smaller compact florescent bulbs and one fit under the cover with no problems. The plastic vent cover for the front is a bit tricky to snap on, but once I figured it out it wasn't loose at all (it sits on the hood without being snapped into place, which may explain the complaint of another reviewer). I love the simplicity of this hood, and the number of installation options. Overall, it looks and works as I had hoped and I can still talk easily while the fan is on.

4Sleek, pretty good sound, difficult to wall mount
By A. Davis
I want to say up front that I do like this stereo. I'm using this as my second stereo in my home office. The wall-mountable feature was a primary selling point. It does have a couple of problems, though, the main one being installation as a wall-mountable system. They give you a bracket to screw into the wall and then you hang the stereo console from the bracket. Sounded easy enough, but since the bracket is almost flush against the wall, it's *very* difficult to match up the bracket with the hanger slot on the stereo. I tried from every angle possible and then finally removed the bracket from the wall (partially unscrewed the screws), attached the console to the bracket, then hung it altogether. To screw the bracket back into the wall with the stereo hanging on it, you'll need a ratchet. I also recommend that you put the unit together before you hang it so you can test it before going through the hassle of mounting it. If you want to have the speakers attached to the console in a wall-mount setup, you definitely have to attach them prior to hanging. You couldn't connect the speakers and conceal the wires otherwise.Aside from that inconvenience, this really is a nice system. The sound is very good for a compact unit, although if you're someone who likes a lot of bass, you won't be happy with this. I've got the bass adjusted all the way up, and I'm satisfied, but I'm not a bass-head. It is playing my CD-Rs with no problem and picking up even weaker radio signals perfectly. The controls are easy to figure out, and the remote is user friendly. The stereo has all kinds of bells and whistles that I'll never use. One odd thing I've noticed is that the LED readout is hard to read from certain angles. If you're using this unit as your clock, that would be important to you. You also have the option of running it off of batteries instead of AC, but I really wouldn't recommend that if you're wall-mounting -- too much trouble to unmount and remount when you have to replace the batteries. The wall installation was difficult enough that if I had known about it prior to selecting this stereo, I might have picked another one. However, now that it's on the wall, I'm quite happy with it. I would have no qualms about buying it as a stand-mounted system. I'm not sure I would recommend it as your primary stereo, but I'm happy with it as my office stereo. And it's a very attractive design -- I like the way it looks on the wall. P.S. I purchased this through a wholesale store and paid less than $100. I'm not sure I think it's worth $133, which was Amazon's price when I bought it.

5Recommended for those sticking with standard-def TV.
By Drake-by-the-Lake
If you subscribe to Consumer Reports--as I do (5 year subscription)--see my review on this magazine--note that the Panasonic plasmas are rated not just a little, but much higher than any other brand name within the comparable price range. Panasonic has plasma down. You must pay thousands more to get a better picture. This is the bottom line at this time. Perhaps things may change in time, but not quite yet. I am not affiliated with Panasonic and am merely summarizing my extensive and thorough research into plasma and lcd televisions. Now, as to the question of lcd versus plasma, it is also a given at this time that plasma offers a superior picture which must be the primary concern of a videophile. Enough said on this account. If television picture is less important to you than ... whatever (?) --power consumption perhaps?, then you may consider lcd. I considered lcd tv's long and hard, and really wanted to believe in lcd technology, but in the end concluded the larger screen lcd tv's are drastically overpriced while offering poor performance. Perhaps technology will change this scenario one day, but I doubt it.Now, if you accept my position that Panasonic plasma is the way to go for high def, the next question is, which Panasonic plasma to choose?Mainly it depends on how much you wish to spend. The more money, the higher definition and the bigger screen you can afford. I found that the best price/performance ratio was to be had with this humble EDTV model. I do not wish to sign up for HDTV at this time due to the higher cable costs, so my motive in buying a higher def TV is mainly for watching DVD movies in their native resolution. I can personally attest that this EDTV is excellent (and is rated excellent by Consumer Reports) for DVD movies of all stripes.Prior to purchasing, I researched the th-42pwd8uk so much online that I knew its name by heart. Daily I entered this name in Google to read reviews, and observed that it was widely acclaimed for an excellent picture at a reasonable price. At its current price, there is only one serious competitor to the th-42pwduk, and it is the retail version of the Panasonic 42", which has a silver case rather than a black one. The other brand names, Sony, Samsung, Phillips et al, have not at this time received comparable ratings for those units in the same price range (below $3000). A consensus has emerged placing the crown of achievement upon Panasonic's head. This is the professional version of the 42" Panasonic plasma EDTV; not to be confused with the higher-resolution, and correspondingly higher price HDTV. Also, not to be confused with the ugly silver version of the 42" EDTV being sold at the retail chains. Panasonic has a wide array of models and it gets quickly confusing sorting them all out. I studied them all and settled on this one being the best for my purpose (combined PC / TV use). The most important difference to keep in mind is that, unlike the retail version, the th-42pwd8uk boasts a VGA connection and is readily connected to any PC, a point many reviewers have sadly overlooked, bedazzled as they are by its amazing TV picture. It also has what many consider to be a more attractive appearance with its neutral black case that does not detract from the decor of a sophisticated home. The price is slightly lower than the silver version, though if you buy the Panasonic stand (TY-ST08K) you pay an extra $200 (including shipping). With the stand, the prices become about the same. The advantages of the silver-colored retail version of the 42" Panasonic plasma EDTV are that it can be obtained locally at the big chain stores, and already has everything you need built in: speakers, tuner, and stand. I submit, however, that the speakers are of limited value since most people paying big bucks for higher def will connect their sound to an existing surround-sound system. I also find the tuner of limited value to folks who are not subscribed to high-def. The stand is just ugly. And then you calculate the not-inconsiderable addition of sales tax. What decided the issue for me is that th-42pwd8uk has a VGA connection and simply looks more attractive. I really did not want the silver retail monstrosity in my living room. The stand feet make it look like a robot from a bad 1950s sci-fi movie.Naturally, you should be nervous buying this unit online--which is why I did my research--but if you buy from a highly reputable dealer, I think you may be very pleased, as I was. I watched "Lord of the Rings" on this monitor and the picture was simply outstanding. If you play many DVD movies, this is definitely the choice for you.Recommendations:-if you intend to set the unit on a table, rather than mounting on the wall, buy the TY-ST08K. It is a heavy metal method of securing your plasma TV and keeping it from falling down. I own and recommend it. I want to be very clear that this unit does not come equipped with any kind of stand or feet and *cannot* remain vertical on its own! I had to prop the unit up against a wall for eight days, waiting for the stand to arrive. Decide prior to purchase whether to wall-mount or use a stand. One of the things that really tick me off about certain retailers is they often picture it as having the stand, when it DOES NOT include any such thing!-You will need female-RCA-to-male-BNC adaptors to connect your RCA cables for the component and composite connections. You definitely should connect your DVD player via the component connection. S-video is a less desirable alternative. Composite is the worst choice and should only be used as a last resort.-Now comes the favorite part of my review, the VGA connection. According to the manual, you can achieve 852 x 480 resolution on your PC. Going any further risks loss of clarity. I went further, to 800 x 600, and sacrificed some clarity, but don't really mind. The connection to the computer is effortless and plug-n-play. Don't worry, your PC will connect just fine to this television. The only thing you will need to do is go to Control Panel | Display and adjust your resolution to fit this monitor. I do not recommend using 1024 x 768 on this EDTV model. Perhaps on its HDTV cousin, but that's another story.-I used to recommend buying high-priced, high quality component cables. But since then, I have discovered that you can get a good picture from lower priced, less fancy cables. I have a feeling the "Monster" brand may be a good bit overpriced. I bought 6' Monster component cables, gold-plated, for about $65 from Radio Shack. I connected using gold-plated female-RCA-to-male-BNC adaptors. Remember, this unit requires such adaptors--but they are cheap and easily obtained online, at Ebay for instance, or locally at Radio Shack. But when I bought a Panasonic DVD player, the Monster cables would not fit in its component hookups. So I wound up using the cheap-looking cables Panasonic provided with the DVD player. It doesn't seem to be a big difference.-try to avoid using the composite video connection. If you are staying with SDTV, like me, try to go with S-video if at all possible. The lack of an HDMI input, unless you have special requirements, is irrelevant; component cables provide quite comparable reception as that newer, "copy-protected" option, which was devised by and is being promoted by the movie industry. Do the research; component input is all you need. It is being phased out of newer models--unfortunately.-read the manual and take the time to learn the many features of your intelligent monitor. In particular, learn how to switch between the viewing modes.-I think you should turn the brightness down from day 1 when you receive your monitor. I have this theory they jack the brightness UP as a factory default just so it will look good on a showroom floor and make a good first impression. But the television's longevity matters to me; and I didn't really need the ultra-high brightness.-another recommendation is to turn the screen saver function ON, just as a precaution, to help avoid burn-in.-on your DVD player, make sure to change the output signal to "Widescreen" (i.e. 16:9) and "Progressive scan" either 525p or 480p. This, combined with a component cable connection, will get you an excellent picture. If your DVD player doesn't support these options, buy a new DVD player! It's well-worth it. If you're strapped for cash, a new progressive scan player from Samsung only runs about $60 - $70 or so.-Lastly, let me reiterate that this is a monitor, and has no tuner. To get television reception, you must hook your coaxial cable to a vcr, cable box, or dvd player that does have a tuner. I was doing this anyway for my previous tv, so it was not a big deal to me.

5Forget about HD... with this, you'll never know the difference
By Rich Manalang
This is our first plasma/flat screen tv. It's a big move up from our 27" tube. We have a basic set up... Tivo hooked up via s-video and a progressive scan DVD via component video. This product is a display only. It doesn't have a built in tv tuner and so we use our Tivo for that. The picture quality of the Tivo on this display is marginal, but still better than what we used to have... and from 12'-15' back, you probably won't notice the difference from an HD display. The DVD output, on the other hand, is excellent. The detail, color, and realism is amazing. Save yourself up to $1000 and go with the EDTV... I think it's just as good as HD for most people.

4PLASMA TV
By D. Wien
After you replaced the first one because of breakage, I found the replacement to be wonderful. I hooked it up and found the plasma display to be all that you claimed.HD resolution is perfectly fine on this EDTV as long as you watch it from at least 8 feet away from the screen. The multiple connections make it easy for a person to hook up all the peripherals. It doesn't make sense to spend the extra money on a true HD set when this one produces such a clear, crisp picture.
