5an exceptional machine
By nucpiper
The waterrower is an excellent machine that is exceptionally designed and provides an outstanding workout. I have owned one for about 10 years, and my wife and I both use it regularly. In the entire time I've owned it, the only parts I've had to replace have been the monitor batteries and the double-sided tape that fastens the monitor wire brackets to the frame. I found the workout it provides to be deceptive at first--until I stood up after using it the first several times, I didn't realize just how intense the workout had been! If you've used other rowing machines, you're in for a treat when you try this one--there is absolutely no shock to the shoulders or arms at the beginning of a stroke (even from rest). The footrest is rock solid and easily adjustable for foot size; the frame is long enough to accommodate very tall rowers (I've had friends up to 6' 4" use it without banging into the stops); the components are rugged and last a long time (at least 10 years so far); and the seat is about the most comfortable I've found on any rowing machine. It's also quiet--the only sound from the machine is the sound of rushing water (rather appropriate). And when you're done with your workout, it easily tips upright for rolling into a convenient corner until the next time you're ready to use it. This machine definitely deserves five stars. I've also used a `Concept2' fan-resistance rower at a local gym that I'd rate at a 4, and a Brookstone folding rowing machine that I rated a 2 at best--but only because I was feeling generous at the time I entered that review on Amazon.com. Although this machine is expensive, if you're serious about working out on a rowing machine, this is definitely the one to get.

3Ok but with some reservations, limited comparison w Concept 2
By Sembu
Update - Water rower sent me a new sensor and disk which fixed the computer. It was relatively easy to install. I would like to upgrade my rating to 4. Everyone likes it and uses it. Why not a five? My remaining nits, which really shouldn't discourage people from buying it are:1) The footrests. Yup still catches the shoes, even though I changed to ones with narrower heels. I think they could fix this by angling the edges outwards. A bit more substantive design would also be nice.2) The computer - Its kinda basic. It will count calories per hour as you row, but won't give you a total calorie count. Additionally, I use the rower when watching movies in the dark. It would be great if there were a backlight just to check how you are doing. I use my cellphone light to check.3) I've figured out why the feel of the pull is not perfectly smooth. Basically, there is a wheel where the strap goes around (imagine a ribbon wound around a wheel). The strap slips slightly as you pull. These are all minor nits. I think they got the frame design right otherwise. I would buy it again.Good points - 4.5 star frame. The frame is solid, well made and attractive. My wife and kids all like it. The feel and sound of the water sloshing as you row is nice. The wheels make it easy to maneuver, though I rarely store it upright. It's also easy to assemble and all the parts fit well together. There is almost no creaking, although my son can make it creak slightly when he goes at it really hard. Some design and delivery issues - Minus 2 starThere are two main cheesy design issues with this rower. The foot rest feels really cheap. It may not come apart over time because your feet are held by a belt that goes around a wood plank. But, its thin floppy molded black plastic. The shape makes its hard to get your shoes in and out. You need to hold it to get your shoe out sometimes. It also has sharp edges so you can't use it wearing just socks. This does not belong on a $1000+ machine. The other issue is the sensor and computer design. It feels like an afterthought addition to the rower. The computer is attached to the rower by a plastic tube. The sensor wheel itself is cheap plastic and slides up and down the shaft (not held by a screw or washer) and can interfere with the rowing motion if too high.My sensor/computer of my rower was DOA. I followed the instruction on how to adjust the sensor wheel. If you raise it too much the ridges bump the sensor and if you lower it, it doesn't register. In the end, I am not sure what was not working. Amazon gave me a $200 credit for the difference between the rower with the computer and with out. After a couple of months I am still waiting for a new sensor from water rower.Vs. the Concept 2 rower:I was deciding between the water rower and the Concept 2 machine, which is in the same price range. I used the Concept 2 rower just briefly a couple of times. I decided to order the water rower instead sight unseen due to the reviews. I do prefer feel of the water wheel effect vs wind resistance.Computer - I did not use the computer much on the C2 and the one on my water rower still does not work, but based on reviews out there the C2 computer is supposedly far superior. Apparently it is the main selling point on the C2. It does appear to be better made.Pull mechanism - Water rower uses a nylon strap for pulling vs. the C2 using a chain. C2 looks more heavy duty and has a slightly smoother pull. Small advantage to C2.Wind vs Water - I do prefer the feel and sound of the water wheel more than the wind resistance of C2's fan. Both give more resistance the harder you pull. While I could be happy with the C2, I still prefer the water rowing motion.Looks - Both are well made. Water rower has an aluminum model also but a higher price point. I like the wood frame. My wife does not object to it as much. However, C2 has a small edge as I had mentioned, including the foot rest.Overall - I am happy enough with the water rower to keep it. My whole family uses and likes it. I would not say its 5 star though. If I had no problems with the machine, I would still rate it slightly under 4 star for the reasons stated above. The thing that bugs me the most is the foot rest.

5Wonderful piece of equipment
By Guppee
I cannot believe no one else has reviewed this yet! I got mine more a year ago. I use it at least once a week (usually 2-3 times). Read online about the benefits of rowing---you get the cardio/aerobic plus the muscle toning, with no joint impact. A very, very nice combination. Despite some folks expressed concerns (at least folks tell me they worry), there are no back issues. This rower looks nice, feels great (love the water resistance!), and gets results. It is elegant and functional. Yes, it is a tad pricey. But hey, if you actually use it, you will get results, it is more than worth it. I live in a traffic congested area (Washington DC) and have no desire to fight traffic to get to the gym. For me, this is a perfect solution. Given the quality of this piece of equipment, I expect to be using it for years!

4great machine
By Lori Sylvia
Love this machine. It really works, makes you burn if you do it right. It was okay to assemble, I don't like having to put anything together, but this wasn't bad at all. It takes up a bit of floor space so make sure you're ready for that. Its easy to switch between legs, just a peg to move...for the price its a good deal.

5CPA
By Bay Area, CA
This is an outstanding, durable, workhorse of a calculator. As a CPA, my 10-key has to be responsive to touch and quick. Some 10-keys have a bit of a 'lag,' where the fingers move faster than the calculator can register the touch. Not this 10-key. It's the only 10-key I use, and I have one at home and in the office. Outstanding product!

4Excellent low priced stereo receiver
By W. McNamara
First my qualifications: I am older, with a large collection of vintage vinyl, and a love of on-air classical music. My stereo system uses two Acoustic Research AR-2Ax speakers. I am not a modern audiophile. That said, I am completely satisfied with the Teac AG-790A receiver. I required phono inputs, and this relatively inexpensive receiver has those and they work. I also listen to a local classical music FM station (Santa Barbara still does have one) and this unit has endeared itself to me by the way it locks to that signal. I have also used its video input to play the sound from a six hour VHS tape of swing band music. In short, it has done everything I wanted. If your needs are similar to mine, you'll not go wrong with this unit.

5Excellent receiver for Music
By Fred
I had a 7.1 channel Home Theater Receiver (HTR), but I got rid of it in favor of this stereo receiver. For me, the HTR was excessively complicated with too many menus to work through just to play music from my collection of LP's, cassette's, or CD's. The Teac AG-790A is simple to use for playing music. This receiver can control four speakers. The description of this product does not mention that if you want to control two sets of speakers (4 in total), they should be identical. There is no way to adjust for differences between two sets of speakers with different sound qualities or power ratings. TEAC's manual makes the same recommendation for identical speakers if you are going to use four speakers. The controls are very easy to use, although as one reviewer mentioned, I too would have preferred more dials instead of buttons. I know, "old school". Still, the buttons are very easy to use. I have a phonograph, cassette recorder/player, and CD recorder/player all attached to this receiver with a couple of Bose speakers. The radio tuner is great too. The sound of music this receiver produces is fabulous. However, for those times when I want to emphasize the bass sounds, I might add a powered sub-woofer as my "second set of speakers". There are bass and treble controls on this receiver, which work great. I am really talking about the sound quality of my speakers and not the receiver. I am talking about really pumping up the bass beyond what my speakers can provide. A sub-woofer with its own internal power system connected as the second set of speakers will allow me to adjust for the differences between the different speakers independent of this receiver. With the bass, treble adjustments available on this receiver, there really is no need for a powered sub-woofer, unless you are a bass freak as I am sometimes. That is just a personal choice. This receiver provides a lot of adjustment with its bass, treble and loudness controls. The bottom line is I highly recommend this receiver for music lovers.

2Needs Improvement
By Tuliproom
The TEAC AG-790A could use some improvements, even considering its budget price. I have several complaints. From the moment I turn on the unit, there is an ever present background hiss coming through the speakers. It is especially noticeable during quiet passages in music, or when listening at low volume levels. The tuner sensitivity is very weak; only the strongest local stations come in good. One thing I find extremely annoying on this model is that some of the settings will always return to their default settings, no matter where you put them. For instance, when you select FM mono, it will return to stereo as soon as you change stations. Another is the tuning mode; when you select "manual tuning mode," it will keep returning to "preset tuning mode!" Speaking of presets, there are no numeric buttons for direct preset access on the unit or the remote, so you have to scroll through them all to get to your station. The volume control is another major issue. It tends to "jump around" if you are trying to make fine adjustments to the volume. It, like most models today, has the type where digital numbers appear on the display when you turn it. I will have it set to 10 and want to go up just one or two; as soon as I grab the knob, it "jumps" down to 8 first. I even had it jump to max volume while listening with headphones. I almost threw my headphones across the room! I prefer the older style volume control where you had a pointer on the knob with a numeric scale around it. Oh, and while we're on the subject of knobs, here's a neat trick: make the bass/treble/balance control buttons round so that in your frontal product photos they will look like conventional knobs even though they are actually buttons! To adjust the bass/treb/balance, you must press the button then turn the volume knob to make the adjustments. I hate this! I like to just grab a single knob and tweak my settings, not go through a two step process every time I want to make an adjustment. Another peculiarity is the sleep timer setup. The scale counts down instead of up. In other words, if you want to set it for 20 minutes, you have to press the button to go from 90, 80, 70...all the way down to 20. If the timer has counted down to 10 minutes and you want to add another 10, you must count down to 0 first and start over at 90 and count down until you get to 20 again! I have never seen a sleep timer on any other device that works in reverse like this one. They usually count up, so if you want to add time you just press once or twice. The functionality of the sleep timer is not usually a major consideration when I shop for gear, but it just seems a little strange that they would design it that way. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that the phono input sensitivity seems a bit low; I have to turn the volume control up to a fairly high level before getting a decent sound level when using my turntable, and I have a phono cartridge with a high output level. I originally purchased the Sherwood RX-4105, but I returned it because it did not have phono input or tape "monitoring."(see my review of the RX-4105) As far as sound quality goes, I think the Sherwood was a little better, due to the hiss I mentioned on the TEAC. However, the tuner was just as weak on the Sherwood. I went with these models because my old receiver gave out and I was looking for an inexpensive model to tide me over until I could save some money for a more expensive model. The TEAC fills the bill to some degree, but I wish I had spent a little bit more and got one of the Onkyo models. At least they have numeric preset buttons, and conventional bass/treb/balance knobs. This review may be too much useless information for some people, but I know the product specs and features list doesn't always tell the whole story.

5Wonderful, solid, sturdy wood table!
By Dallas Mommy
I needed a new table to fit into our small kitchen breakfast area. This table is wonderful! It is a heavy, solid wood table that definitely holds up to scratches and dents. I have two boys, a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old. They have definitely put this table to the test and it still looks great. This table is a very dark espresso color, with a matte finish. I just love it!

4Good quality easy assembly
By Wallace
I bought this table and two matching chairs and find myself very happy with the sturdiness of them all. I don't have any children to test them with. but it exceeds my expectations, sometimes you buy an article unseen and you are not happy with the quality. I just want to say that I'm very happy so far with the quality of my table and chairs. I recommend them you won't be dissapointed.

5No It Doesn't Come With Chairs, or a floor, or walls
By Oldog_Oltrix
This is a very well-made, sturdy, attractive, all-wood, simple kitchen table -- or big enough for a small dining room.I love mine. It's an honest 5-star table.Pay attention to what the company tells you about shipping. If they say you'll get it in 3 weeks or 5 weeks or 8 weeks, THEY MEAN IT. Don't expect it earlier, like with some companies that exaggerate the shipping time to cover their butts in case something goes wrong but usually deliver the product way earlier than they promised.

5GREAT VALUE!

These chairs are very well constructed. Very nice material on the seats. The wood was a little too red for my taste but the price was too good to pass up. Delivery was quick and everything was in excellent condition. Extremely easy to assemble!

4Solid, atractive chairs
By G. H. Pearson
These chairs came in just a few major pieces that were easily assembled. They have provided us with attractive looking, but sturdy chairs. The detail work is not as fine as you would find in an expensive chair, but it is consistent from chair to chair.

4Cherry Chairs
By .Marcia
These chairs were ordered to supplement my dining room chair set of 6. The new adoptees are close, but not the quality of the ones I presently have, and are a little taller, but I am keeping them anyway because they are probably as close as I am going to get as far as a match

5Easy to use, practical.
By J. Tyman
Lets you view local as well as remote webcameras on the TV. Works well, it does what it says. The unit is very flexible yet easy to setup.I wish it could start automatically in Multicamera mode after power failure instead of just Sequence mode or a single camera mode. But it just takes a couple of clicks with a remote to get there.A very practical tool.
