Great Gate

I installed this gate about (6) months ago on a six foot cedar fence I'm building around my property. It took about an hour and I had the frame installed in the opening. One thing I might comment on is that if you are using treated lumber it may be a bit heavy for a single gate five feet wide. They do make a double gate set for wider gates. This product is much easier to build than the old way of doing "stick built" gates. I would recommend this gate to a friend as long as they realize the weight limitations.

Beware. Not as pictured.

Warning... this is not the "Adjust-a-Gate" sold by Hoover Fence, but instead the one sold by Jewett-Cameron elsewhere on the site. It's also not black as pictured, but instead a putty gray. When shipping, the gates were damaged due to inappropriate packaging (they were shipped in their "shelf" box and had to be returned. See pix in customer pix section.

Adjust a Gates work great!

Bought these for new fencing that was being put up at my daughters home, they saved my husband a lot of work. They stabilized the gate and prevents the sagging that can occur on heavy wood framed gates. They worked out GREAT!

Affordable grow station

I have long wanted one of those fancy lighted grow shelves that you see in the gardening catalogues, but was put off by the price. I was therefore thrilled to find this shelf at such a great price. My husband hung a grow light from the top of each of the two shelves using some chain and a cheap clip from the hardware store and voila! A lighted shelf that allows me to start my seeds indoors when it's way too cold to even think about going out in the garden.Of course, that's not the only use of this shelf; it can also be used outdoors and I'm looking forward to using it, with the handy plastic cover, to gently transition my seedlings from indoors to out of doors. The plastic cover is great and quite sturdy; it's long enough that it reaches the floor (and then some), giving good insulation. Used in our (unheated and drafty) garage in the winter with the lights and heated seedling mats, the plastic covering kept it fairly toasty inside and also kept moisture in (important for growing seedlings). The front zips open and shut for easy access to your growing plants without having to remove the entire cover. The top shelf is handy for storing seed pots and tools; however, you'll want to avoid storing really heavy things up there (like bags of soil) as the shelf did bend a bit for me when I loaded several heavy thing on top of it. But for light things, it does just fine.In short I am simply thrilled to have found such a terrific product for a great price. With a little handywork, this shelf can provide you the "grow shelf" experience at a tiny fraction of the cost.

Really decent for the price

I bought this last spring to use out on my patio and I really like it. The fact that it was metal and not junky plastic was important to me, and I like the lower design as it seems less prone to being blown over when its windy. It set up easily and came together quite sturdy. I was missing a bolt out of the box but called the company and they sent one out right away, so no big deal. Like the other reviewer stated, the cover is extra long and seems to be of decent quality (at least as decent as a removable plastic cover can be, think the packages bed comforters come in) I used the cover only in spring and was pleased with the insulation it provided. My soil thermometer measured over 30 degrees warmer than the air temp on a sunny but cold early spring day. I used just the shelf all summer with pots on it and actually left the shelf outside all winter here in Wisconsin and it looks like new yet. Can't wait to get the cover back on and get this year's seedlings in it and off to a great start!**UPDATE**The cover was a casualty of a freak hail storm in April 2011. It was so sad to see my pots filled with ice balls and the cover shredded! I still use the shelf in my shed so it wasn't a total loss. I haven't decided if I will try to fashion some sort of cover out of plastic sheeting or just buy a whole new one for this years seedlings. I wish they would sell just the cover...

Great Product

I installed 5 of these gates in a new fence I built. Each gate was quick to put together and easy to figure out. One of the 5 sagged a little after 3 weeks of use but was quickly fixed with a few turns of the adjustment, without tools. It has not sagged since the adjustment. Everyone that sees these gates makes a positive comment about them. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Nice Gate Solution

I used this frame to create a walkway gate as well as a driveway gate that opens in the middle (so I installed three of them).I see that most people in my neighborhood build their gates by hand, from just lumber and hinges, and they almost all sag within a year (or they install the really ugly metal gates). I really wanted a wood fence and gate that functioned as well as metal, particularly for the driveway, and this was the solution.The only reason I don't give them five stars is that they don't offer you any help if you want to mount the hinges to metal. I had to go to a hardware store and spend some time with a bench grinder to make my own.The day I went the hardware store, I ran into another guy looking to do the same thing with his adjust-a-gate, so I know I'm not the only one out there who needs this. If you're the kind of person who worries about having a metal frame for your gate, you'll probably also prefer to set a metal post, especially for something like a driveway gate where the thing has to really function well and stand up over time. For the price, it would be easy to include hinge mounts for metal, or maybe they could offer this on their Web site?Well, for what it is, it's a great product. All three gates look great and are not sagging. :-)

Gate install was very easy. Operates just as promised. I ran it all the way across an 8ft driveway and there is no sag at all. If I ever need to do another gate I will go with the product for sure.

Not bad for the price

I bought my 6'x8' from a another store in March '06 for $300 including shipping. I chose the Weatherguard over the 6'x8' Harbor Freight mainly because I wanted to take it down in the fall. However, this GH does have some other advantages over th HF. For instance, the frame is galvanised steel. It is extremely strong and you are able to hang heavy things from the frame like hanging plants, fans, etc. You can also use the frame to tie up your plants. I also like that it has a lot of vents (5 plus the door) that I use in various combinations depending on the weather. I use a thermostatic box-type window fan for cooling. No problem with the zippers so far. Replacement covers are only $64 for 1 end and $150 for a complete set thru the manufacturer. This GH can't really be heated well tho.

Pretty good greenhouse

Overall, this is a great little greenhouse. Materials are of pretty good quality. Setup is pretty quick and easy. Serves exactly the purpose I needed it to.Only con that I see:There could be an additional horizontal support between the ribs, halfway between the top spine and the base. The rounded corners on the ends pulled in when I put the cover on and tightened it. I easily solved this by cutting some 3/4" PVC to fit between the ribs. Now the shape is perfect.

Great greenhouse for the price

I bought this early spring. Set it up in the rain in less than an hour. It seems very flimsy until you tighten the main cover area. I would recommend purchasing the tie down kit. Since I loaded it with plants, they have all taken off and done much better than out on the patio. A small propane lantern on the lowest setting kept plants from freezing during several hard frosts. I can't wait to see how long I can extend the fall growing season. I think I may buy the 8 X 12 for next year as well.

extreme working condition

These shoes a really good looking and they ''look'' like they can thake a lot bt the truth is they cant I am so disaponted they are more for streets or the city. Dont get me wrong its a good boot but I walk a lot and most of the time its gravel and after a month they started to fall apart. Seller is great, I got them on time no problem, good custome service I just have to make a better pick next time.

My opinion - this shoes is perfect. I ordered one pare for my son, he loves it. Then my husband said I want the same...... and my brother...... so I've got tree pare of those shoes. And no problem with delivery, even for two dais earlier, I was surprised. Amazon is the best.

OK, but won't buy again

I bought these shoes based on how they look, and the positive reviews it had. Now, I wish I had gone with something different. They are a good looking shoe, and were pretty confortable at fist, but that didn't last too long. Maybe it was just this pair, but they make me walk on the outside of my foot on the right side now. Because of this, the sole is wearing out pretty fast. The other thing I don't like it how fast the laces broke. Also, there is zero water protection. If you step in a puddle the water goes straight in, and I'm not talking about up top. These leak right at the bottom of the laces. I just wish I wasn't such a cheap skate, or I would replace these with something else today. But, I am, so I will continue to wear them until the soles wear out, which probably wont take that long.
