The kit replaces your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. Decent product

I had a friend that planted the idea in my mind to get a CAI because he said it was getting him a good amount of power and mpgs. So I decided to give it a shot and buy one.Going off on a side note... If you know anything about how to increase power in your truck, (cut me some slack I learned most of this from the internet. And we all know how reliable it is. But it made logical sense to me) you put a cat back exhaust on with a high-flow muffler and then put a high-flow air intake on to get more air to your engine. The exhaust then allows all the extra air and fumes to be expelled with less backpressure (which everyone seems to think you need at least some backpressure but any sort of backpressure is actually BAD). Anyway, it all just means you can burn more fuel more efficiently if you so choose to. That's how it gives you extra power.So back to my truck... I put a cat back cherrybomb extreme muffler on my truck (a 2000 Ford ranger 4.0) and I saw an mpg difference of about 1mpg with my normal driving and around a 4-5 mpg difference highway. After putting the CAI on, nothing changed. The only difference I can tell is that my truck roars when I put the pedal to the floor. So for my truck, it made very little difference. However it could do more for a v8 or a performance engine. I personally love the K&N series and would recommend it to most.
