5Badass Boots
By Kodz
I've been wearing this boots as my fulltime footware(at least 5 days a week) for nearly 2 years now. I think aftermarket insoles are a good investment if you're going to do anything other than ride with these. Everything is holding up well on them. I oil and polish them maybe once a month. They are well-worn, but not showing any signs of dying any time soon. The stitching is still tight, the leather belts that buckle the boot down are still intact, and there is still some semblance of tread. I was wearing Red Wings before these, and I'd wear out about a pair of them in 8 months or so, despite them costing almost as much as the Chippewas. The high-rise leather works well to keep water and debris out. Almost like having a pair of mini-chaps. It also works well for concealing a large knife. The steel toe has saved me on a few occasions. It also keeps the toe of the boot hold it's shape. Despite it's combat-boot like ruggedness, it works well as a casual or even formal piece of footware. They're stylish yet very practical for a wasteland dwelling desert person like myself. You also look pretty crazy if you wear them with shorts. I think if/when these wear out, Im going to get a pair of their snake boots. They are a nearly identical version to this, but they have sturdier bite-proof materials and a sole more suited to everyday/outdoor use.

5hopefully I don't need to buy another pair of boots in 5 years, if not longer
By G. Xin
I ordered it on [...] in size 6. Yeah I'm a girl who likes big boots. I had been doing research on tall engineer boots for 2 weeks before actually bought it. After checking Frye and chippewa in local stores I decided to go for chippewa. the 1st consideration is price of course. God knows why women's boots are so much expensive than men's. Frye's 15" Engineer boots for women are $[...] more expensive than Chippewa's. The 2nd reason is quality. For some reason, several Frye boots of the same style use very different leather. And each pair feels different from another when u step ur feet in. i can't help but doubt the actual quality of their boots. With Chippewa, at least all the boots I have seem are of the same quality, and they are all confortable to wear. Some ppl are complaining about the belts on 11" Chippewa engineer boots. Unfortunately I have to say they are right. The leather used for these belts is not very good. But for me, a non-proffesional biker they are nothing but decoration. So yeah I am happy with these boots. Hopefully I don't need to buy other boots in 6 years if not longer.
