4Great if you can find it for a reasonable price
By R. Ferguson
This model is now out of production. It is a great little model (6 x 3 x 3 inches) and the rear attachment is ingenious. I do recommend it if you can find it for a reasonable price (very hard these days). Instead, you may want to look at Lego's 2009 Technic tractor (#8260) which is nearly the same size but has a front-end loader rather than a grass cutter. 8260 is, as of early 2009, available at MSRP.

5Good introduction to technic, Great for tractor lovers
By Stuart|Anne
Our son is just getting into Technic, and is a huge lover of all things John Deere, so we got this for his birthday to stretch him a bit. It was a little challenging for him, since he is young, and this was his first experience with Technic. He got some adult help in the beginning but pretty quickly worked out how the pieces work.We were particularly pleased that it is a working model. The wheels turn a drive shaft that goes back to cause the blades of the attachment to turn. The attachment can also be lifted up and turned off.He enjoyed building it a lot, but unlike block Legos, usually doesn't take it apart, but rather plays with it built. Months later it still a favorite.

4Simple but sufficient intro to Technic
By J. Hansen
This was the first Technic model that I built. I bought several at once to get started: mini-tractor/motorbike with sidecar; excavator/bulldozer; street bike/ chopper; telehandler/ front-end loader; and dune buggy/ tractor. It's small, but it's inexpensive. The motorbike with sidecar doesn't have any gearing but it does have moving tires and steering. The tractor has a plow attachment connected to the drive train that moves when you drive along and you can raise it up for driving between fields.Like I said, it's a small set and rather simple, but it's a good intro to the Technic system. The basic pieces are all represented and by building both models I got a nice sense of the different ways you can use the pieces. If you have other bigger Technic sets I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one unless you want the models themselves (which are small enough to occupy a desk or something) but if you are getting started or have younger kids who are best suited starting small, this is a good place to start. At first I was going to rate this 4 stars because it is a simple model but then realized that there really isn't any way to improve it and I don't have any complaints. For $[...] it might be a little expensive compared to the excavator at $[...], but I don't regret having spent that on it. Actually, on second thought, I'll give it 4 after all, on that account.
