I have used it to get oil filters open, turn pipes, even get hard to open fruit jar lids open. Very versatile in terms of size adjustments.

After breaking some cheaper strap wrenches, a co-worker lent me his Ridgid strap wrench. After one use, I had to buy my own. The wide strap and foot hold a firm grip and the long handle provides plenty of torque to remove the most stubborn filters. Also use it for assembling large pipes before tightening because it's lighter than any pipe wrench. MADE IN AMERICA! Amazon had the best price, too.
