The Pack and Carry Fireplace comes in three sizes, small, medium and large. The basis of this item is the ease of cleaning up after enjoying your campfire or charcoal fire. This fireplace offers a wide range of charcoal fire cooking and campfire uses. Snow Peak developed these fireplaces to address the damage typical campfires did to the environment. By raising the fire off the ground and containing both charcoal and wood the Pack and Carry Fireplace limits the amount of waste left behind at a campsite and keeps fires from negatively affecting the terrain.

This is just what I was looking for.

I have the smallest Snow Peak fireplace and the insert for charcoal AND the grill.About 8 pounds total. The fireplace and the metal footprint come in at about 4 pounds.This is perfect for a fire when traveling to sensitive environments - the ultimate in "leave no trace" camping.I carry a few bundles of wood just in case I can't forage for sticks and I travel mostly by canoe.Excellent design and construction. It cleans up well and is vey durable. I think it's the best fireplace on the market andis light years away from the cheap hibachi or charcoal grills out there. And it's fun to use. I take this rig on every trip!
