Imagine yourself aboard Air Force One on your way to an important diplomatic mission. You'll soar like the President with this flying scale model of a Boeing 747. With a wingspan of close to four feet long, this jumbo aircraft is powered by four ducted fan jet engines. A four-function radio control system puts you in charge of the climb, landing and turning, and you can't over steer this plane. Trips can be as long as 1,000 feet. E-Z Launch Take-Off system is included, using acceleration to get the jet to proper flying speed for exceptionally smooth take offs. The 8.4 volt rechargeable flight battery is included powers Air Force One for up to five minutes of flight without being recharged. A second Flight Battery is included with each set. Also requires 8 "AA" batteries (not included). Measures 39.5" x 43" x 9.5".

A Tale of Two Air Force One Jets

I've been extremely pleased with this product having received two from my wife for Christmas (two for one special). It is amazing how durable this plane has been logging dozens of flights (see customer pictures). I have crashed this plane into the ground, into buildings, into signs (no, not on purpose; I've just been challenged with depth perception). Every crash the engines and rudder fly off but its a simple matter of snapping them back on and going again. It flies so well I have even strapped a cheap camera on the back for taking avi movies while in flight. I affectionately call this plane "Airframe 1". After a hard landing requiring glue and tape, I attempted to fly her twin "Airframe 2". Unfortunately, this one had a tendency to fly in a constant nose down right turn. Out of a dozen attempts, I only managed sustained flight once. I've returned it to Estes and hope they will repair or replace.Bottom line: There seem to be production variances but, if you get a good one, it will give you many weekends of enjoyment.
