3Police Reveiw of Inova T4, 2009 Series
By TestsbySeth
As a police officer I rely on my equipment to save my life. None of us are nice to our equipment so when a cop gives an assessment of a product, it is from a worse case/best case scenario. The following review is based on real world application in a profession that does not forgive.Emmisive Energy Corp: Inova T4.Purchased on April 11, 2009Cost $[...]This light outperforms expectation in an urban environment. Battery life is exceptional along with the charging time. Beam is very focused. The light's strobe was found to be effective in disorienting suspects both in darkness and in semi-lit areas. Fit and finish are very good with the light being comfortable to use and work with.Pros: After being dropped on concrete from shoulder height several times over the last seven months, this light still performs flawlessly. Great shock resistance. On/off button easy to use and switch between strobe and low power. Battery life and charging time significantly better then competing companies (Surefire, Streamlight).Cons: The on/off switch sometimes will not hold the light on. I have found that you will sometimes have to keep pushing the switch to get the light off of "momentary on/off".Not to be used in contact with ANY water.Inova claims that the light is water resistant. After speaking with Dot (ext. 204) in the customer service dept. I was informed that the light would withstand momentary submergence in a puddle. Washing off a biological contaminate (blood) under the sink faucet exceeded the "water resistant" claim. Water was found inside the battery compartment and toggle switch area which caused the light to stop working. Inova offered to take the light, battery and charging cradle back. The charge would then be $39.95 for a replacement. As an update, after speaking with Laurie with Emmisive Energy Corp, they have agreed to replace the light at no cost. Laurie did state that placing the light under running water exceeded the "water resistant" capability. If you have questions, requests or comments regarding this review; or if you would like to receive information on other reviews, please email: [...]. 5Great Light!
By Pkakes
First, for those who have had an issue charging the light and got the flashing blue light when on the charger, the problem is most likely a bad electrical connection. Unscrew the battery end and clean the silver colored, unanodized, end of the cap to remove any grease that is hindering an electrical connection. The cap is part of the electrical system and any grease between the cap and the body of the light will mess with the connection. Also, clean the charging contacts on the light with a pencil eraser (just rub it like you are erasing)...This will clean off any gunk that could be messing with the connection. I've had charging issues and this is all it takes to correct them. With all that said, I love this light. Constant output for 2 hours, unlike Mag and Streamligh lights that dim after a few minutes and continued to yellow out. This is a pure while light, with no artifacts in the beam....meaning its a nice even illumination tool. It's not cheap, but you are paying for quality. I have used mine for about 6 months, in rain, fog, complete darkness, indoors, outdoors.....and it just performs without question. You can not go wrong with it.Lastly, if you are going to buy the T4, buy the new version that Inova is releasing this spring of '08. The output went up from 125 lumens to 175 lumens.....for those not familiar with light ratings, it is one heck of an increase! Try it and you will not be disappointed.

5Had to try to average this out
By Mopar guy
I don't know why Paula posted the same negative review twice--but I've had my Inova now for almost a year and change--and it's been a fantastic light. I also have a Mag rechargeable and while the mag has better control on lighting, the Inova is far more sleek, and more concentrated light wise. Fantastic light, bottom line--and I haven't had any problems with charging it. In fact, no problems period.
