4Good bag
By labman
I just bought this bag at my LBS so I can't say how it holds up yet. It's a large bag with lots of zippers. One compartment is insulated which is good for snacks/sandwiches on day trips. There is another compartment above the insulated one. This compartment expands. There is also a small rear compartment. One thing not mentioned in the description is that the two side compartment are built-in pannier bags. The pannier bags are a light nylon but seems durable (especially compared to a similar cannon bag). Each pannier bag has a shock cord to prevent them flopping around as you ride. There is a laced bungy cord on top to hold down more gear. It also has duffle bag style handles for carrying/using when away from the bike. It has four velcro straps to fasten it to the rack.My only complaints (which are minor) is it has many zippers and it takes me a bit of guess work to unzip the right compartment. Also it would have been nice it the carry handles were removable. They sometimes get in the way of the zippers. Overall I'm very pleased with the bag and think it will be great for day rides.

4Perfect commuter bag
By C. Badham
I've had the toploader 3 bag for 2 years. I use it mainly for commuting, but I've also used it for mountain biking and light touring. The drop down panniers aren't as big as the Topeak panniers, but they're big enough to hold my pants, shoes, towel, plus other stuff. The main compartment is insulated and holds my lunch. I stick my spare tube, patches, lock, etc. in the expandable lid. The rear pocket holds my tools. The bag has been great and shows now wear other than mud splashing up on the bottom. Better the bag than my back, eh?My only complaint is that the bag is big enough to warrant a shoulder strap. It's actually pretty inconvenient when the bag is full to carry by just the handle.Actually, I have one more complaint. A light mounted on the light strap in the back always points down. Even with the pocket full. But other than those two complaints, I love the bag.

4Good Investment in Cycling
By Old Hippie
Today (7-7-2009) out for an early morning ride, I found out just how much the insulated compartment would hold. I stopped for a break at QuikTrip and noticed they had milk on sale cheaper than the grocery stores. A gallon jug of milk fit inside with no problem & stayed quite cool on the way home. With the fold out "mini-panniers" and other compartments, this will hold more & do more than you might think. One of the best investments I've ever made in cycling. One person said..."A light mounted on the light strap in the back always points down. Even with the pocket full." Simple solution - don't use it. Use a different approach. Using the belt clip on my Cateye EL-135 and TL-LD130R Bicycle Headlight and Tail Light Combination I clip it on the half-opened back pocket. The clip is so strong, it never moves. And it puts the light up higher where traffic can see it.
