Product Description

The FL-9’s 100% analog signal path uses the Panasonic MN3207 BBD IC to create some of the richest, thickest flanging and time-delay effects possible. Rate, Depth and Regeneration controls allow the user to dial in everything for shimmering chorus and vibrato to hollow, metallic overtones to thick, jet-like flanging sweeps. In addition to standard controls the FL-9 features a Delay Time knob that allows for a vast array of all-new spatial effects. Silent operation makes the FL-9 at home on the stage or in the studio.

5The best option for analog flanger pedals!
By Reviewer82
If you want to buy only one analog flanger pedal for the rest of your music career and not have to worry or second guess if you really bought the 'right' one, than the MAXON FL-9 is it! Yes, it is twice as much as the other flangers on the market, but the sound is absolutely unreal. I seldom use my analog chorus now that I own this pedal because it covers that same area sonically as well. If you love the sound of the late 70's and early 80's flange tones on all the classic records (The Cars, The Cure, Heart, etc.), this is the one to get. The Ibanez and MXR models don't even come close to this one, the are both noisy and make all sorts of whistling sounds when the levels are cranked up. The MAXON FL-9 is absolutely quiet when it's engaged, even when all of the levels are all the way up: no swooshy clock noise like the old BOSS analog flanger pedals from the 70's and 80's, no goofy whistling sounds like the current Ibanez and MXR models, just classic flange, plus the peace of mind knowing that you will never have to replace it as long as you take care of it. MAXON currently also makes a "Vintage Jet Riser" flanger pedal('VJR-9'), which is basically the same pedal with the addition of their own custom analog delay chip, and a knob in the middle that adds additional white noise. I would recommend the FL-9 over the Maxon "Vintage Jet Riser" though, especially for straight ahead unadulterated classic 1981 flange!!
