Product Description
This Backwashing shower filter uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy, in a specially designed back-washable, replaceable cartridge. With this technology, our filter has been shown to effectively remove 97+% of this damaging chlorine for up to 12 months for two people. KDF can also remove low amounts iron, sulphur, and control the mold and mildew in your shower. The special interior design of the filter causes the KDF to be "swirled", enhancing contact with the water which improves efficiency. The streamlined "off-set" design only lowers the height 1 1/2", allowing for more head room compared to other filters.
A unique feature is the "Quick Flush" back-wash. Simply twisting the cartridge to the "Flush" mark will reverse the flow "back-wash" to release the sediment that can cause other filters to fail prematurely. A good example of this benefit is New York City, where century old pipes contribute to excessively high sediment levels. While non-backwash filters were clogging up in less than two months, this shower filter is providing the full year of service!
Must be used with a 2.5 gpm (or less) showerhead for best results. Replacing the cartridge is a snap, too. Simply unscrew the holding ring and remove and replace the cartridge! Overall dimensions: 6.7" tall X 3.75" diameter. Housing material: ABS plastic. Inlet: 1/2" female pipe thread, swivel. Outlet: 1/2" male pipe thread. To install, simply unscrew your existing shower head from the shower arm and screw on the shower filter. Then screw on your shower head on the end of the shower filter. Shower filter ONLY no showerhead.

KDF Shower Filter Unit Canpro

I am on my second Canpro shower filter now. I can't do without one now while I take a shower. This filter removes the chlorine from the water and I don't have to absorb the chlorine into my skin and nasal passages any more. Amazon made it simple for me to order one. It was down right almost impossible to find an order screen on the web. But Amazon came through. Thank you Amazon.com my friends.

I used this filter for over a year and it made a very noticeable difference on the shower water. My skin was softer and my hair felt much nicer. It is easy to flush the filter and mounting it on my shower was no problem.

Filter Media

I've been using this filter in 2 showers for 2 years. Probably purchased 5 or 6 replacement filters and had 1 replaced under warranty. I like the design and idea of this shower filter. Being able to backwash is nice. However, the filter media on everyone of these has passed through the shower head and ended up in the bottom of the shower. All of these were properly installed, flushed and backwashed on a regular basis. Even new replacements have been an issue. I've finally decided to go back to using the Aquasana filter. KDF filter media has been added to the coconut shell carbon and I feel that the Aquasana will now be a good product to use. The Aquasana has a larger volume of filter media and the water is forced up vertically through the media just like the Canpro. This allows the media to settle back down into the housing as the shower is turned off. There is no backwash feature but I'm planning on changing the filter out every six months as I have done in the past with this filter.
