Great case, a few flaws

This case is very sturdy, fits my 2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retina perfectly. Both latches come with built-in locks as well as unshrouded hasps for small padlocks.My only complaints are that:1) The velcro that holds the organizer to the plastic does not stick. Not the hook-and-loop side, but the adhesive side. It arrived unstuck, and I can't get it to stick. So basically, the organizer is just flopping around.2) I contacted Pelican via their website regarding this issue, and have heard nothing back. So much for customer service.3) The smell is very strong. Probably the same adhesive.

Pelican quality can't be beat.

I bought this case for my new Dell Precision 4700 (their 15" model). Caution to all, the 15" Dell Precision does not fit in the laptop tray of the 1490 case. The computer is nearly an inch too wide for the foam insert in this case. Happily, I was expecting this since I read all the measurements beforehand. I spent about 45 minutes with an exacto knife and some gaff tape and I customized the interior of this case. I'm reasonably happy with it. As other reviewers have stated, the adhesive holding the velcro onto the inside of the case is a joke. It was half off when I received the case and after hardly touching the lid organizer while working on my custom foam work in the tray the whole thing fell out. I got it to stick pretty well with some pressure, but I don't care for the faux leather look anyway so I'm probably going to make my own custom lid organizer anyway.All in all this case is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. I paid top dollar for my new workstation replacement and I want to make sure it's not getting banged around while I travel.Always trust pelican cases.

I love this case. I am confident my notebook is safe while traveling in this case. Downside is it is heavy but expected from a hard case. Quality is number one in my book. Stainless hardware, locking hasps, styled shoulder strap. One complaint is the insert has fallen out of mine. The insert is attached with double sided taped velcro. I think the heat and humidity where I live caused the adhesive to become tacky and lose its stick. The seams of the inserts which appear to be glued are seperating too. Nonetheless, Pelican is taking care of me and their tech support is OUTSTANDING!
