just the right size

please notice the size is only about 4 feet so if your looking for the full size version, keep looking. perfect size for my gameroom.the top can be unlatched & used as a counter top popcorn machine, so it's versatile.i was worried that it might splatter oil on the floor, but nope, it doesn't do that at all.it comes with all of the tools you'll need to put it together, including a screwdriver. (tip; DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS)the motor is just a little noisy but it's in my gameroom, so no big deal for me, but i could see it being a bit noisy for a tv room of home theater.the thing i don't really like is that is only makes a little bit of popcorn at a time. so you have to keep filling it up with oil & popcorn seeds. maybe about 3 - 4 times just to cover the bottom & about 8-10 times to fill it up adequately. not a big deal because it pops very quickly so in about ten minutes you can fill it up, it's just tedious.also it doesn't keep the popcorn hot so after about a half hour the popcorn in the machine is just room temperature. still good, but not hot.another tip: use the oil from the popcorn isle. coconut oil & butter (the things i've found on the internet to be recommended) are somewhat bland & just don't give it that movie theater taste.

This is a good unit to buy if you're not quite sure you want to spend the top dollar on a larger one. It is very fiddly to assemble, but the instructions are good and every piece fits perfectly. The unit works well and as it should but the lids on the popper are a bit light and allow some unpopped kernels to escape with the popping ones.

This review was written after about 5-months of use.I wondered why this popcorn machine was so much cheaper then similar models. Here is why (and I'm happy about it):This popcorn has some plastic, like the roof and wheels. The base under the glass is still metal. Other models are probably all metal. The popcorn mechanism is probably a little smaller then other models. But still makes about the same as 1-bag of microwave popcorn. Takes about 3-min to heat the oil & kernels up and start popping. Other models may take 2.5 min.I like this size and model for a family of 4! When we use it, it's just enough without wasting popcorn. I was considering getting a bigger model, but would be dumping the excess popcorn. We have used it for a couple parties. Once you pop the first batch, other batches pop quickly (in a minute). It has a light that comes on inside too. Installed quickly (like 15-min). I think it will last a while.The trick to getting all the kernels popped consistently is to let the oil heat in the can for about 3-min before you dump in the kernels. The kernels just about instantly start popping and cooks them all. Also, I have not experienced any burnt popcorn, no matter how you pop it.
