Square Softboxes Norman offers square softboxes in 22X22, 36x36 and 48x48 inch sizes, to handle everything from individual portraits to full room sets. The rugged opaque outer material used on these, and all Norman Softboxes will make sure the only light you have to deal with is on the subject. With the appropriate Speed Ring Adapter, these softboxes attach to a variety of monolights and lampheads, just like a reflector.

Excellent Softbox, So Easy to Use

I have both a rectangular and square Norman Softbox designed for the larger monolights and flash heads. First impressions are that the quality of the fabric is very high. the fabric is much heavier than other softboxes I have looked at while the overall box weight remains very light.The heavy fabric traps the light and directs it forward. No light leaking through the box sides.The interior is silver so it gives an excellent kick to the light. It also comes with additional fabrics to make the light softer, but I like the hard edge and specular highlights it provides product shots.Extremely easy to open, with no fighting back. lol It also comes pre-assembled, no need to insert rods, etc. Opens like an umbrella and then locks into position. Simple. Took about ten seconds to open and lock, which has to be a new record for me. To me this is critical as I don't have the space to leave all the softboxes up all the time.I was also able to install a Broncolor speed ring adapter to the unit very easily. Other rings are available and I purchased one for my Norman and Elinchrom lights.I have some Elinchrom deflectors which as it turns out fit perfectly into the area where the softbox locks. I was able to insert different color deflectors to change the light. Put in gold, white and translucent and watched the light adjust accordingly. These are a cheap addition, but do so much for the impact of the light. Effectively creating a giant beauty dish if you leave the unit open. (The octagonal shape softboxes open and close exactly the same as the square and rectangular.)The square and rectangular boxes give a window like lighting effect, while the octagonal provides a sunlight effect which wraps around the subject separating it from the background.They fold up and store in their own carrying pouch/bag.In short, these are the best softbox investments I have made. You can go cheaper, but you won't find anything better than these.....
