The Designer Fly-Weight Transport Chair is from Drive Medical, one of the country's fastest growing manufactures of Durable Medical Equipment. The all aluminum frame chair weighs only 19 lbs., which is 30% less than a traditional transport chair, while maintaining a weight capacity of 300 lbs. The seat width is 17". The deluxe back release allows the back to fold down for easy storage and transport. The footrests swing away and are easily removed. The chair comes with a seat belt for added safety. Maintenance free composite 8" wheels are on the front and rear making it easy to maneuver the chair. There is a convenient carry pocket in the back for storage of personal items. The upholstery is soft plush burgundy green plaid nylon. The frame is black. The chair is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

I bought this item because my senior Mom has a bad knee and ankle and an arthritic spine. She is mobile, but cannot walk long distances. We took a trip to Las Vegas in April 2007 and this Drive transport chair make that trip possible for her!! We easily went through the airport, gate checked it at the airplane enterance, and it was brought right up when we landed. Manuvered over all types of flooring in the Las Vegas casinos and performed like a champ on the streets - smooth and easy to push (and very comfortable for Mom!). Folds up in a snap and is light when putting in the trunk. We were asked by many where we got it - Amazon is hands-down the best priced and the free shipping is great! I did a lot of research! We bought a bag for ours to make it easier for the airline people to carry and not lose pieces (foot rest pieces can come off only when moving the empty chair, and can be lost if separated from the chair by handlers). The bag is good for storing the chair at home when not in use, too. WE LOVED IT - easily handled a 260 lb. person - very sturdy and well made!

I ordered this Transport Chair for my mother. This same chair was on qvc for $199.00 and amazon price $99.00 what a deal. My grandmother fell and broke her hip and my mom wanted something to take her in to doctors appointments. They were impressed with the chair and price when it was delivered. It folds up and can be put in the trunk or closet with ease. They even like the colors and the way it was built. Amazon rocks. So if you need a transport chair don't wait order it.
