5Great sturdy and functional tripod
By E. Thorpe
This is an awesome tripod. I am only surprised it doesn't yet have any customer reviews, so I decided I must write my own. What I love most about this tripod is how fluid and easy the pan head is to use. I use the tripod mostly for macro photography, so I often end up in pretty awkward angles and the head on this tripod accommodates me quite well. You can also get quite low to the ground with it. It's great for my digital Rebel and all my lenses. My heaviest lens is probably my macro lens the canon EF 100mm f/2.8, but it feels sturdy enough to hold even heavier lenses. The construction is all metal (no cheap plasticky head). Also the head is interchangeable in case you want to get a ball head to use with it instead, although I'm rather impressed with the head that comes with it. For it's sturdiness this tripod is still quite light and portable. It's sturdiness probably diminishes the more you extend the legs which is understandable for its weight, this could be remedied by attaching a stone bag or weights to the center post. Also the center post splits in half, which is really handy for allowing you to get even lower to the ground. I highly recommend this tripod! I love mine!

5Great Tripod
By Mal
Very nice tripod. I am 6' 4" tall and was wondering if the 750 model would be better but this accommodates my height just fine. I used this tripod this weekend to take photos of a waterfall and it was very, very easy to adjust on the rocky and quite uneven creek bed. The quick release platform is very easy to use and holds the camera to the platform and the platform to the head securely. It was stable when using my Canon XTi with 300mm zoom lens and did not feel top heavy. I attached the platform permanently to my camera and bought a spare platform so my wife can use the tripod with her small point and shoot if desired. At 4 lbs it is not too heavy (for me anyway) to hike with and comes with a carry bag but I bought a larger more sturdy and stronger carry bag.The platform fits pretty well on my Canon XTi/400D which I have camera armor on. I did trim the camera armor rubber in a couple of spots with a sharp carton knife to make an even better fit but is not really necessary.

5Just done right tripod
By A. Okanovic
These are my experiences/impressions: An excellent tripod, lightweight, compact-when-collapsed, mine came with its own bag. It has no features that I don't use, it also doesn't lack the features that I need. It's functional right out of the box (that is, it comes with a pan/tilt head). It's also stylish. A friend of mine had let me borrow his Silk - and I hated it (everything was standing in my way). I use this tripod with my film cameras (both 35mm and medium format - perhaps it could be little heavier for MF but that would subtract from its portability). An excellent value for the money.
