Product Description
AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. A worthy upgrade

Fits a '99 Acura Integra GS (the RED AEM CAI is almost exactly the same color as the R505-P Integra paint - just FYI).The picture Amazon has is slightly different from the actual 21-403R model. The AEM sticker is yellow, the hose connecting to the throttle body is all black (no AEM logo), as well as the intake filter (black AEM logo at its top).This was my first performance upgrade and it was relatively straightforward. Some online suggestion stated it can be installed within an hour but for me it took half a day (The Integra's have a slightly more complicated stock intake than other cars). The AEM intake DOES fit almost ideally, though the support tab that attaches the intake to the fender wall was a little shorter than I had wanted it to be (but that's just nitpicking).I did notice a slight increase in the low RPM range, with the intake really kicking past the 3000 mark. The engine sounds also kick in at this point, starting of with a "whistle" and ending with a "growl." Impressive! This is a nice upgrade for higher-revving engines so you can enjoy the engine sound for a while longer :)In the original packaging (which came partially opened), I was missing the instructions manual and the AEM stickers. A 5 minute phone call to AEM and emailing them a copy of the Amazon receipt took care of it to get the stickers sent over to me within a week's time (free of charge of course).

this intake is very nice .. it was an easy install just awkward getting around the ac lines..it gave my car a very nice sound in higher rpm around 4000rpm. the only thing is how low it sets, makes me nervous going through puddles. im scared im going to suck up a bunch of water and ruin the motor....
