AH YES , THE INVISIBLE MAN !!! AS YOU KNOW THIS APPARENTLY RARE AND BEAUTIFUL FIGURE IS A PREMIERE ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION . I OWN EVERY MAJOR FIGURE IN THE SIDESHOW LINE AND THIS ONE APPEAR'S TO BE ONE OF THE RAREST AND BEST !! I RECENTLY GOT IT FOR MY MUSEUM AND IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE AND BEST PIECE'S !!! I RECOMMEND YOU BUY IT TOO , BEFORE HE , POSSIBLY ...DISAPPEAR'S .

Sideshow's Invisible Man figure is easily one of my best purchases. You can also get a special edition where instead of his head there is a bandage being unwrapped so you obviously position his arms up there but I doubt you'll find it (I couldn't) and this product is pretty good too. First of all I guess I'll state that this, although kids would love it certainly not a toy and is more fragile than say a NECA brand action figure which are made to be played with. Sideshow figures put more detail into their products which make them much better display items. The figures have realistic looking clothing (you won't even find material on most of NECA its just painted on the plastic mold) and in the case with the Invisible Man he is weating multiple layers so underneath his winter trenchcoat you'll also find a drssing gown and underneath that a suit and tie.Oh by the way, this invisible man is Griffin, the Claude Rains played character Griffin, from the 1933 H G Wells The Invisible Man movie based on the H G Wells 1897 published classic novel) of the same name.Even more impressive is underneath all the clothing is actually a clear body. The bandages on his head feel like real bandages, as do the little tuffs of hair emerging from them. His eye goggles and fake nose easily come on and off leaving eye sockets behind when not in use.He comes with a few accessories, the first was the eye goggles and fake nose, the next is a black hat, a beaker (which one assumes his invisible potion is in), a set of test tubes and wooden holding rack, a black doctors type bag of that era (which does open but is a bit difficult to thread the strap so don't do it is my advice) and a stand with the movie logo on it (which I can not work out how it is supposed to work but luckily he stands on his own and naturally looks better without it so I don't really care).Like all Sideshow figures the packaging is made so you can take him out without wrecking it (something you can't do with NECA and most other brands, not that they make an Invisible man but hey you may be buying other creatures too). You can easily just slit the sticky tape at the top or bottom of the box and slide out the holding cell inside. The invisible man has been tied down (to stop any Chucky type action if he comes alive) by a clear plastic tie around his waste (hidden under his clothes if you decide never to open the box), a piece of metal bound through to the back of the plastic (you can not see the back of the plastic if do not open) binds both hands as does one around the neck. The bag is also tied down with a black wire (which you can see even if you don't open box) and the other stuff you just have to twist to remove.The front of the box has the movie poster as a door type cover which you open up to see the invisible man and accessories on display. Honestly though open the box, it's easy to do with no damage and he will be much happier! You can then pose him how you like, put different accessories in his hands and yeah just enjoy him as a talking point to anyone who comes to visit.

Being a monster kid from the 60's I have always loved Universal Monster films. I began collecting Universal Monster items at a young age and I discovered Sideshow Toys when the company started. I have a huge collection of dolls, statues and Busts made by the company. The figures are of the best quality and the likenesses are fantastic.This one of Claude Rains as The Invisible Man from the original film is a real beauty and comes with some nice movie accessories. The dolls can be removed from the box for display without damaging the packaging. The doll is 12 inches tall has real cloth clothing and comes in a movie themed window box. My exclusive version came with an alternate head which was made of clear plastic with a great likeness of Rains.
