AEM Short Ram intake systems are an economical alternative to our Cold Air systems and deliver performance, value and ease of installation over any other short inlet intake. Our Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood and cost less because we use less material to manufacture them. During the development process, we found certain applications respond favorably to shorter inlet lengths over our longer Cold Air designs. For these applications (denoted in the search results page), we offer a Short Ram system only. We perform extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment, which allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. good bang for your buck

After deciding to put off a new car purchase, I bought this for my 2000 Civic sedan. I'm not a "ricer", I just wanted to get a bit better response from the gas pedal without a full turbo install, and after some research discovered that I could get this while still getting gains in MPG.First off, this is a very simple and straightforward modification, for anyone concerned about their lack of mechanical skills under the hood. Mine are pretty modest, but the original intake, resonator and filter come right out, and with a few simple connections, the short ram goes in with a minimum of tweaking.One caveat before observations on performance: In the same weekend, I put in new iridium plugs and put 4 new Michelins on. That said, there is a definite increase in throttle response, and what appears to be a couple extra miles to the gallon. If you get carried away with the extra few horses, don't expect to see the fuel economy gains. The other change is the engine noise. Your stock set up is made for relative efficiency paired with quiet operation. Aftermarket products like the AEM short ram forego the sound considerations of the oem intake, so it is louder, but to my ear, not bad. And really only noticeable at higher revs. Of course, many will enjoy the more aggressive sound.The product is packaged well for safe shipment, and is well-made.My next purchase will be a new exhaust, to get the air moving out of the engine just as well as its coming in now.

This was a great kit compared to the K&N kit I replaced it with. Fitment was much better than my last kit.

My boyfriend is in the process of redoing my honda civic, he was like a boy in the candy store when we purchased this for my car. Wasnt hard to install and I havent had any issues with the intake system. More orders to come
