The boots bend on top of your toes. Good looking but not great for comfort.Thought Chippewa would be a good boot even from china, not so. I bought these to try out before spending big bucks on the U.S.A. one's. Daner makes a much better Made in U.S.A. boot.

Great boots!~

My man loved it. These are great looking in person and the quality is great. I originally urged him to get a pair of shoes to use for hiking because the last time we went on a easy trail he did in his Lacoste casuals.... Anyhow, he says these Chippewa are very comfortable and gives very good support. He have been wearing them everywhere ever since he received it.

PK has been wearing this style of boots for at least 20 years...glad we were able to find them, as this is the only one he wants. I hope they will still make them a few years from now when the new pair finally wears out!

The zipper makes it great.

A quality boot that's quite warm and with a zipper making very easy on and off once you adjust the laces to fit. I use them for cold weather motorcycle boots so the waterproof design is really a plus as well. Nothing worse than riding with wet feet in the cold. A good price especially when compared to traditional motorcycle boots which can cost 2 or 3 times as much. They are a bit high or thick in the toes area which could be a problem for shifting your gears. Real motorcycle boots tend to be a smaller dimension in the toes. That also makes for cold toes however. I choose to have warm comfortable toes and make a very little extra effort in shifting. But that's just me.

i bought my pair localy for $129. was gona be for work but they are so comfortable. im wearing them all the time now. i didnt even need to brake them in. typicaly im just work & jungle boots. compared to those these feel like pillows. high ankle support, odd looking tred, but in lightly wet, muddy, grassy area they are keeping grip. so far so good, gona give them a test run on a week long backpacking trip.

There's a reason these boots are only $100.00

Okay, so I got cheap and ordered a $100.00 pair of boots. BIG mistake. Knowing they were going to get ruined quickly, I decided to get these over a third pair of Danner boots for work. I liked the idea of the side zip so I decided to give these a try.1. The lining and tongue padding are too thick - I have to unlace the boots to open them far enough for the zipper to work, negating the point of having a side zipper.2. The ankle hinge is cut oddly (for me, at least) and rubs the lateral malleous of my fibula (that bony knot on the outside of your ankle). This annoys me to no end.If it weren't for the hinge issue, I'd rate these boots higher. The zipper thing is an annoyance, but not a deal breaker. Based on the other reviews, I may just have an oddly-shaped ankle (which is entirely possible given the abuse they've taken over the years) so your mileage may vary...

Very Good Boot!

Decided that this is another product worth my time to provide a review. I recently broke my ankle to the point that I have metal plates and screws holding it back together. On the road to recovery, my orthopedic surgeon/doctor said I could now loose the CAM boot, and go ahead and wear shoes - so long as they were BOOTS. Well I live in Arizona, it's HOT and no one wants to wear boots in the summer here...but, I have no choice.I looked everywhere for hiking boots, etc. that would fit the bill. I was not happy with anything I was finding. Then I saw these. I read several reviews about the prodcut at the online store where i actually purchased them - and these reviews were written by military men and women who require solid boots that provide comfort and support. I figured if they gave them such high reviews, how could I go wrong ?I am telling you that this is the best investment yet for this poor old ankle of mine. I am a heavy woman - and need padding so that my feet are not killing me at end of day - and now with needing support for the ankle so it will continue to heal properly, this boot provides both. It has been 107 degrees plus every day since I bought these, and I wear them daily - and my feet have yet to get hot and sweaty - they just don't! My old tennis shoes made my feet sweaty and ucky --these boots do not. The boot has a zipper along the side that allows you to slip them on and off rather easily (very easy on the non damaged ankle) - and they provide the support I need while actually allowing me to WALK more or less like a human for the first time in months! I am not screaming OW because they bind against the screws in my ankle - indeed I hardly even know I have the boot on, they are that comfortable!Anyone who is in a similar situation who is looking for a pair of boots that they can wear to provide orthopedic support and comfort, this is the boot to choose. they are well worth the investment. (Please talk to your orthopedic doctor first of course - I am not telling you to ditch your cam boot for these! You may only do that upon your doctors advise!)
