Product Description
AEM Short Ram intake systems are an economical alternative to our Cold Air systems and deliver performance, value and ease of installation over any other short inlet intake. Our Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood and cost less because we use less material to manufacture them. During the development process, we found certain applications respond favorably to shorter inlet lengths over our longer Cold Air designs. For these applications (denoted in the search results page), we offer a Short Ram system only. We perform extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment, which allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. Simple easy mod

Works great! Fairly simple to install, but some of the rubber elbows were a bit of a pain. Makes a sound at WOT that will make you smile. Makes a slight whistle sound around 2100 rpm under load that some people may find annoying if the windows are rolled down.

Simple enough to install

This came with wonderful step by step by step installation instructions that were just awesome. Came with everything needed, even new bolts and a MAF sensor adapter. It probably took about an hour or so to remove the stock filter and put this one on. The intake doesn't really offer a difference in the sound until you floor it and your RPMs reach 4k, then you hear a more aggressive tone when it starts sucking in more air. No noticeable difference in power (with stock headers, CAT and Exhaust. No tune.) But it looks good, nonetheless. If you're looking for an intake, don't go cheap. Get a high reputable brand name such as AEM, HPS or Injen. Only complaint was that I needed to put a hose clamp on the breather tube because it didn't fit over the nipple on the intake. It was too loose so I had to clamp it down. I guess another complaint would be putting the rubber boot onto the MAF. This was an extremely tight fit and I found it difficult to get on. But it's installed, sounds cool (at 3.5k) and no problems yet.
