Malone The only thing wrong with this is mounting it, which resulted in a missed stud. However, you can see why it is necessary. There's no way I want 5 bottles of wine and all my stemware crashing to the ground. This wine/stemware rack looks good on the wall, and living in an apartment doesn't afford a huge amount of counter space. Therefore, this rack was a great choice. The wood isn't cheap feeling, and the overall construction is solid. One small problem is that some of the bases of my largest "burgundy" glasses couldn't fit in the slots. I had to select the *slightly* wider slots to accept them, and put the chardonnay glasses and champagne flutes on the others. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Lightweight Space-Saving Alternative By C. A. Kluwe I lack a lot of under-cabinet space to mount hanging stemware racks and also don't have a lot of counter space for storing bottles properly on their sides. Searching for wine/glass storage opportunities proved to be somewhat difficult since I needed a tandem combo that wasn't too large and wouldn't pull down the kitchen wall. This one looked pretty good and not as heavy as some of the wrought iron pieces I was finding.Installation may look tricky at first, but there are easy shortcuts. There are 4 components to the product: the metal brackets that attach to the wall, metal rods that screw into the brackets to support the rack, the wooden rack, and a metal apparatus on top for securing bottles. I attached one bracket at the height I wanted, then assembled the rack and raised the opposite side until it was level. I then drilled the pilot hole for my wallboard bracket and voila! I was done installing in about 5 minutes.I was a bit worried at first because the setup seems kinda flimsy -- you have a metal plate on the wall with a metal rod that screws into it to support the rack. All that is holding the rack up is a 1/2 inch metal rod. I was anticipating the rod would bend easily with time. However, it has held up pretty well (1 year out now).I give the product 4 stars because while it is aesthetically unassuming and does a small-time oenophile well, it has one or two flaws. The first is that the rack pitches downward very slightly. Maybe only 2 degrees or so, but enough to make an OCD person like myself a little anxious. Also the metal apparatus on top is not secured to the rack -- it just sits on top. The weight of the bottles holds it in place, but again, it's unnerving. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great wine rack, very pleased! By Christopher Forbes Perfect wine rack for my apartment, holds everything I need. It doesn't take up any extra floor space like many of the cabinets and racks out there. I would recommend this product to anyone. See all 8 customer reviews...Latest Price: See on Amazon.com! More Info: See on Amazon.com! See Customers Review: See on Amazon.com!

By John Williamson There are pens, and then there are writing instruments. A good writing instrument can be a pen, but is has a precision feel when in use, unquestioned reliability, and is designed for many years of use.The Caran d'Ache Ecridor Chevron Silver Plated Ballpoint Pen falls into that later category, for it's far more than just another ballpoint pen. It's completely crafted in Switzerland, and from the moment that one picks it up, one notices the craftsmanship. My first Caran d'Ache writing instrument was identical to this silver plated one, with the exception of having a corporate logo engraved on the barrel. It was received as a sales award from a Swiss company that was my employer at the time, and over twenty-five years and numerous refills later I still have it.Caran d'Ache makes a number of different models, and their Ecridor series owes its success to their classic hexagonal design, solid construction and long-term reliability. It is a classic in the real sense of the word. The body of this precision writing instrument is silver plated, and bears a unique retro-styled chevron design along the hexagonal barrel. It's crafted of brass with a rhodium finish. This Caran d'Ache Ecridor has a Goliath ballpoint cartridge, and features a steel point containing a free-turning ball in tungsten carbide that provides a clean blot-free line, with ink that doesn't smear. It's said to deliver up to 600 pages of handwriting... I can't refute that claim.Must admit that over the years this Caran d'Ache writing instrument has grown in personal and sentimental value to me. For that reason, I retired it from daily use a few year ago, but have added a couple of new everyday workhorse models:*Caran d'Ache Metal Collection Original 849 Ballpoint Pen*Caran D'ache Black Ballpoint PenThere's no noticeable difference in quality of construction and overall feel between these models and the silver-finished Ecridor series. And the best part is that they all share the same Goliath ballpoint cartridge as noted above, making it easy to standardize. The same Swiss-made craftsmanship is there in any of these models. Caran d'Ache is keeping the art of writing alive and well with each of these 5-star writing instruments.6/27/2009 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Piece of Jewelry By Simon At Caran d' Ache, they are not just making pens; they make jewelries. I fell in love with Caran d' Ache about fifteen years ago when my father gave me a gold plated Madison for my birthday. It was a beautiful twist-top ballpoint pen with a sword clip, and I loved every single detail on that pen. The pen was very slim, flashy, and got me constant compliments. Since then, I've never bought any pens other than Caran d'Ache. I wanted to try a new style of theirs, so three years ago I gave my old one to my younger brother and got this Ecridor Chevron pen instead. Compared to my old gold plated Madison, this pen is very modest. I get compliments, but not that often. Although the current Madison line uses a different design, I think I am going back to Caran D'ache Madison Cisele Gold Plated Ballpoint Pen - CA-4680282 for my next pen.Durability is quite good. I use this pen on everyday basis for every single writing task. It has seen many abuses like dropping on blacktops and unintentional kicking and squeezing. There are visible signs of scratches, but nothing major. In comparison, I think my old Madison had better plating quality. Regarding Caran d' Ache refills, they last a long time. I am on my second refill in three years. I personally love the blue color of their ballpoint refills. They are kind of unique from any other blue pens that I have used. If you write checks with them, the color is easily distinguishable from other pens.Caran d'Ache is not just a pen. You will treat yourself with a piece of jewelry and fine Switzerland's craftsmanship that will accompany you for many years. There are variety of styles and finishes available in all different price ranges. Depending on what materials or features you are looking for, like Carbon Fiber body or Solid Gold, you can find your mate in Caran d'Ache's collection. The other functions work okay. Solar energy is nice - never need to worry about a battery. World time is a waste. There are better stop watch functions out there if that is important to you - it is not to me. Coolest feature may be that it automatically illuminates at night when you turn your wrist to look at the time. This is a HUGE watch. Sits high on the wrist - many long sleeve shirts will not button with this watch on. 36 of 39 people found the following review helpful. difficult to make out the time at night By steve42 Sync with the atomic clock is great as is the solar charged battery but #1 drawback of this watch is that it's difficult to read at night. The light comes from 9 & 3 o'clock, not a back light. The minute & hour hands are difficult to make out on the busy surface even on the longer light setting of 3 seconds while the small digital display window remains completely in the dark. Also this unfortunately has only one daily alarm. 16 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Versatile Watch with Good Looks By Mathew Cross Versatile Watch with Good LooksThe GShock GW1500A-1AV is a versatile watch with rugged good looks. I love the Digi/Analog feature combined with the solar power and atomic timekeeping. The one detractor would be the luminescence on the analog hands. They describe the LED light with after-glow (the hands), but without a stronger light there is little "glow" to the hands.Over all, a very good watch. A useful calculator By Hanns M. Merzbach To replace my old calulator, I looked for a unit with similar poperties -- in particular I wanted it to have a 3 zero (000) key, an invaluable time saver if there are a lot of large numbers with lots of "0"s.Checking available offers, I could only find one model with this particular feature --- the Canon P160-DH.I purchased it, and now, having used it for a while,I am glad I did.It has a number of features that I really have no need for but that I am sure would come in handy for others. I essentially use it for adding columns of figures, putting the results into the memory section and and ending by getting the grand total. I also use the multiply and device keys and the percentage function. These operations couldn't be simpler. It operates at adequate speed and has a clear two-color printout. My only small complaint: the "CE/C" key is so close to the bottom left corner of the calculator that I clumsily touch it - and wipe out previous input. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. By kibblesthepig Whoa, this is so great, so you can play either a seperate NOES or f13 trivia, or mix it up and answer questions for both. The questions range from easy like: Finish the rhyme 1, 2,.... to the who the hell cares: WHo directed Friday part 8. If you're a huge fan of the films like I am, you'll definently enjoy this game, and since you can play as teams, even a novice to the films can help rack up the points. The best part of the game is when you get to a Coroner's Report card. The front shows a freddy or jason victim, and the person has to describe how they died. The back side has key words and depending on the amount of words they say, is the points they earn.Yeah so this game is really fun, unlike another movie triva game I can think of...cough cough Scene It... 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Freddy vs. Jason "Killer" Trivia By DJ Deathwish I'm really into horror, and horror trivia is just really fun to me, so of course this game appealed to me. The game set-up is easy, roll a die to determine the level of difficulty on the question card, or to answer a Freddy vs. Jason question. Now, I know these franchises very well, especially NOES, but some of the questions are just downright difficult, which is nice, you never really want to just dominate in a game. There are multiple choice answers though, which still give you a chance on the really obscure questions. The game comes in a nice looking tin with Trivial Pursuit type cards for both franchises and a small deck of Freddy vs. Jason questions. The coolest part in my opinion are coroner report cards, which give you stats on a movie victim, and then you have to recall just how they died. I found these cards a bit more difficult on the F13 side because the kills were just more creative and stood out more with NOES. But if you are a fan of the movies, this will be a fun game for you. I guess the most difficult thing of all will be finding someone to play with. A fun game, just not one you can play a lot. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. love this game By Michele A. Marcolongo I lvoe this game. Best single-serve coffee maker out there By The Mad Hatter If you're reading this review, you're most likely doing research and trying to decide between the Keurig line (B40,B50,B60), the Tassimo, or the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig is the best looking, the most durable, has the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The Tassimo's versatility is tempting, but variety of coffees is lacking, the machine is a first-run model that does not feel as quality as the Keurig (I could barely find a piece of metal in the entire thing), and it cannot be set to warm itself up like the Keurig. The Senseo isn't bad and I may even consider getting it as a second machine, but it is kind of lame how you need two pods to brew an 8 oz cup of coffee. Considering the price of pods that I was looking at, it would outprice both the Keurig and the Tassimo for daily usage.Between the Keurig models (B40,B50,B60), I spent a lot of time trying to decide and eventually went with the B60, mainly because the B60 is the only model that brews 3 different sizes of coffee--5.25, 7.25, and 9.25oz. The B50, a favorite amongst shoppers, does not offer the 9.25oz size. This large size allows my Oxo travel mug to almost completely fill after using one Extra Bold K-cup. As an added benefit of the B60, you get beautiful blue LEDs behind the display and the water tank, as well as a polished chrome handle and polished chrome outer-ring to the display. It looks very modern and very classy in my otherwise boring kitchen. Highly recommended. 1829 of 1869 people found the following review helpful. Best. Coffeemaker. Period. By Dark Knight I bought a Keurig after reading all of the reviews about it. I thought to myself, surely this machine has a lot of hype to live up to.Not only did it pass the hype test, it did so with flying colors.Let me just say that if you are doing research on this machine, you will discover that people just rave about it. Review after review say it is worth the investment.Add this review to that list.PROS:It works not just as a coffee maker, there are also tea K-Cups available and it also can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds. So if you have a tea bag and just want hot water, there is not need to use a kettle. Ever. You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend. It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed. No grinds in the bottom of the cup. No wasting away of drinking coffee in the morning.KEURIG'S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called then at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine. The customer service guy (had a Boston accent) was very nice and answered all my questions. He also registered the machine (it was a "gift"- to myself :-)), so there was no need to mail in the warranty card. The blue LED lights are the best kept secret about this machine. It is very modern and fits into any kitchen, both during the day and at night.CONS:The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That's ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON... They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don't want to get stuck with 50 K-cups of a flavor you don't like.If you are having a group of people over, it's definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here's the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it's a great conversation piece. The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most travel mugs once you mix in the creamer.Let's be frank. It's expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obviously, people love this machine, and for good reason. It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, and in the long term, this machine pays itself off.BOTTOM LINE:If you're reading this review, you obviously care about what other people think before you spend $100+ on a freaking coffee maker. Don't worry. I was in your shoes. But there is a peace of mind that comes along knowing that you made the right choice. Do as much research as you can and get as many opinions as you can. But just remember that thousands of satisfied Keurig customers can't be wrong.Good luck. 451 of 480 people found the following review helpful. I love this Coffee Maker By L. Larson Finally, I found the easy - no clean up - fast coffee maker that I need for my busy lifestyle. The k-pods are awesome - I use it for coffee and tea, it's so easy. Just put in the k-pod - push a button and you have your beverage. Great taste - no fuss - no mess or a chance of an exploding pod - a great size water reserve and a cool look. I've bought so many coffee makers over the years and I finally found a keeper. One thing - you can't make a pot - but this machine is ready for the next cup in 30 seconds (fast) and my guest love choosing their favorite flavor, (there are so many to choose from) so I haven't missed the pot at all. The railroads are replaced with divisions, and the community power/water places are replaced with PT and something else, can't remember. There's a $75 Marine Corps Ball Fund instead, all the properties are things like M16, combat boots, molle pack, amphibian assault vehicle, etc. It was a lot of fun to play with my fiance who has been around the Corps for a couple years now, because you're fonder of certain properties when they're more relevant to you, instead of just being "Broadway" I'm pretty sure it's the M16. I think it will be even more fun when he can play with his brother, who is also in the Corps. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. I DO believe I am more efficient now (but I can't proove it).One thing that I feel makes it more efficient is that the roller bar allows you to "flick" the mouse around the screen much faster than I could with a regular mouse, and you can scroll without your fingers ever leaving the keyboard. Okay, this sounds a lot like how a laptop works, and it sort of is, but the rollermouse is still more advanced, and its the only alternative for a mouse attached to a desktop PC that I've found.I also love that all the buttons are programmable, but you absolutely need the downloadable software to customize it (I'm surprised this didn't come on a CD with the product already). There are actually TWO different software programs that do this, a basic and advanced version. After much Googling I finally found them here: http://www.contour-design.com/Default.aspx?ID=1126What's confusing is that the http://www.contourdesign.com site is different from the http://www.contour-design.com site. The latter is the only one that offers the advanced software. If you want the RollerMouse scroll wheel to scroll more than 1 line at a time, you have to get the ADVANCED software. None of my default drivers could be made to adjust the wheel, so was thrilled when I finally found that download. Also, don't buy RollerMouse from Amazon or anywhere else. The cheapest at $199 was direct from here: http://www.rollermousepro.com/The only other downsides besides having to hunt for the right software are 1) I wish it came with some built-in USB connections, otherwise, it might as be wireless!, 2) you need to use it with a keyboard that has an absolutely straight bottom edge otherwise the rollermouse sits too far away from your fingers, 3) the price: $199 is really expenisive for this product. Should be under $100.I think if more people used this product the mouse would become a thing of the past! Give it a week and you won't go back. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. outstanding By A_Reader this is an absolutely amazing product! Yes, it is rather expensive, but it's worth the money. I suffer from RSI, and I've tried various trackballs pounds weird shaped mice and 10 minus and lots of other things. But this device is definitely my favourite! It looks rather like a wrist rest for a keyboard and it does function as one but their arm a number of buttons too. The best bits however is the presence of a bar which you have all and move left right in order to move the cursor.if you imagine a pencil held horizontally in front of you and you were to roll the pencil forwards and backwards and move the pencil left and right that's basically how it works. It sounds weird but it works incredibly well! It's immediately intuitive and I didn't need any time to get used to it. There's no software to install -- everything is USB -- and using a computer has been easy again ever since. I get no pain from RSI now.another neat little thing about this role of is that the bar itself can also be pushed down to simulate a mouse click.finally the product is extremely well built. It is very sturdy and there's clearly been a lot of thoughts gone into the design. It feels like it's very professionally made and I have no complaints whatsoever. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. try it, you'll love it By G. Smith I've been using a RollerMouse (original non Pro) since 2004 on a daily basis. It greatly reduced the amount of mouse or trackball related RSI as I no longer needed to leave the keyboard area to use a pointing device. Highly recommended. I regularly use it with dual and wide screen monitors on Linux (X11). See all 18 customer reviews...Latest Price: See on Amazon.com! More Info: See on Amazon.com!
