Product Description
Technology Today Advancements in technology have brought faster, higher definition products that are capable of processing large amounts of data but are also quite sensitive to the components that drive them. Too little power and these devices will not function at an optimum level, too much power and these devices can be damaged beyond repair.
The Ups and Downs of Power AC Power by nature is ever-changing, appliances turning on and off in your home (as well as your neighbor's home) causes voltage to surge and spike, this is sometimes noticeable in the form of lights dimming. This causes a state of flux for the power running your delicate electronic devices which can have a negative effect on the functionality of those devices. Other conditions such as power outages and lightning strikes only increase this fluctuation. When power returns after an outage it does not roll in gently like a ripple on a lake, it surges and spikes like a wave on an ocean during a hurricane. It is these surges that damage the delicate components in electronic devices making them unusable. Even under normal power operation, surges and spikes can damage electronic devices. Proper connection to an advance surge protector that offers integrated system protection can help minimize the risk of permanent damage....
Protection You Can Rely On Unlike standard surge protectors, the Monster PowerCenter HTS 3600 protection provides multiple layers of defense against harmful surges and spikes with patented Tri-Mode and exclusive T2 protection. The Microprocessor controlled T2 circuitry continuously minotors power conditions to not only block out surges and spikes, but also disconnects the PowerCenter and all of the connected devices. After power is disconnected, T2 circuitry continues to monitor power conditions and automatically reconnects the power once a safe condition is reached. Protection is only part of the equation; Monster's Tri-Mode circuitry includes an audible alarm and an LED display that shows the current incoming power line voltage. No more guess work on troubleshooting high or low voltage conditions like spikes or brownouts.
Keeping it Clean Fluctuations in power are bad enough for proper electronic devices functionality; add the noise pollution in power lines created by the appliances in your home and outside interference, and protection is only the beginning of the requirement. Electrical power tools, refrigerators, air conditioners, radio transmitters, cell phones- all generate electromagnetic interference and radio frequency noise which pollutes AC power. The pollution in the power line has an adverse effect on the performance of electronic devices, preventing them from performing at at an optimum level. Video will not be as crisp and jittery; audio will sound unclear and accurate to the point of even having noticeable levels of buzzes and noise. Monster's Clean Power circuitry filters out power pollution by utilizing special filters to dramatically reduce electronic noise on your AC power line. You'll see a more vivid picture and hear more natural sound with increased dynamic range and less noise giving back the performance you never knew you lost...
Making Life Easier In addition to protecting your valuable electronics, Monster PowerCenter provides convenience for connecting and placement generic surge protectors cannot. The FlatProfile plug allows for furniture to be flush with your walls, and the color-coded labeled outlets let you know just what is connected, no more unplugging the wrong device. All this combines with a generous 8-foot powered cord, ensuring that no wall outlet is out of reach... Peace of Mind With Monster PowerCenter HTS 3600 you can rest easy knowing that if something should go wrong, your connected equipment is protected by Monsters Connected Equipment Warranty. That is something you cannot find on a generic power strip... |

Decent Product, No Rack Ears Included, SLOOOOOW Customer Service
By hannaHDigital
Monster makes some nice gadgets that are light on your wallet.... Pfshh, we all know that's a lie, the products are nice but they are super expensive. Luckily this was for a customer. The 3600 works fine, does what it is supposed to do, but on page 17 of the manual it specifically states "The Included Rack Ears..." but they were not in the box. After calling in the afternoon and holding for an hour for "sales", I had other things to do. So I decided to call the next morning. I waited about 20 minutes for Technical Support, the rep was very nice, and opened up a ticket for me, but at the end, says "but I can't help you with this, you need to speak with sales". So transferred, an hour later, sales still has not picked up. Finally hung up, emailed....Q: Hi there. We recently ordered a HTS-3600 MKII Power conditioner for a customer. We opened it up and it did not have the rack ears included with the product, but on page 17 of the manual, it specifically states "This Monster PowerCenter includes two "Rack Ears" mounting plates for installation into a standard size equipment rack." After waiting for over an hour on hold for sales yesterday, I called this morning and after 20 minutes, spoke with a technical support person who gave me a case number which is *****. She then transferred me back to sales in which I waited another hour on hold before deciding to hang up. Hopefully we can figure out a way to get this rack ears situation figured out as soon as possible as it is holding up our job from being completed. And it seems like you guys are doing well, so maybe it's time to hire some more customer service people? Hour+ wait times for sales is pretty unacceptable. If someone could please call me today at..., I would appreciate it. I need to get this resolved ASAP. ThanksReceived an Email response 2 days later:A: Per UL regulations the rack ears are not sold separately. The can be ordered from our site at: [...]WHAT?? So I am in the same place that I started. Thanks Monster.4 stars for product, delete one for not including the rack ears and another for wasting hours of my time with your seemingly wonderful customer service.

Good, solid performer with a flaw
By Vincent Wong
Got it today from Amazon at a great price. Setting up is easy with the included cables. The manual can be further improved with more technical explanations on what the protection circuitry actually does. My TV (50" Panasonic 1080p plasma) doesn't seem to have improved over a direct connection to the wall outlet; but the sound stage (via digital optical) of my Yamaha YSP900B (surround sound projector) does. The unit is well built and well integrated with other AV components. The only flaw is the low frequency buzz - audible within 5 ft from the unit. One would think Monster, being a reputable AV (primarily in AV interconnect cables) manufacturer, would not have allowed such a quality issue in the circuitry design. When the unit is enclosed in my AV cabinet, the buzz is not noticeable. But audiophiles beware! I would not have lived with the buzz if the unit is housed on an open AV rack. The included gold plated coax cable is only 3 ft long, obviously not enough for any serious setup. Again, Monster is a cable company after all; it should have included a longer cable.Overall, the unit is a good performer with a flaw (the buzz).

Burned up right away - smoke and all - it's dead
By bayareakirk
I was tempted by the GBD price and the positive reviews, but this item proved worthless for me:One day I plugged in a new Onkyo receiver and a new Onkyo ipod dock and played some music for about one hour. Then I unplugged everything to install a stereo cabinet and put the components in the cabinet. Once assembled, I plugged the HTS 3600 back to the same wall outlet. No lights came on. A couple of minutes later I smelled and saw smoke. It had burned itself up. It hadn't even been turned "on" or had any components plugged to it yet. I won't buy Monster again to manage power, it can't even handle being plugged in!Also noted: the Monster looks good but feels cheap. Plugs from components fit very loose in the the HTS 3600 outlets and I also noticed that the outlets themselves are flexible in the HTS 360 - like they are only screwed in from above but not below so the whole plate that holds the outlets bends upward a bit as you plug in a component.
