Perfect Fit with some modification
By Hightower
Item arrived quickly and fit perfectly on my '84 Dodge P/U frame rails, but would not allow the simultaneous installation of the spare tire support bracket without some modification. Still working on that.

Trends-Auto Takes Care of It's Customers
By Pleasantly Surprised
The class IV Receiver and associated other pieces arrived today. The ball mount and tow adapter came together in a smaller box, padded with paper and those air-filled bags. The major (and most expensive) portion, the receiver, was packed in a light-gauge cardboard box. Although great care was taken to wrap the receiver to protect its powder-coating, no effort was made to restrain it in the box. The receiver weighs 50 some-odd pounds. It is angular and has many 90 degree turns. IT HAD NO TROUBLE POKING MULTIPLE HOLES THROUGH THE SIDES AND FRONT OF THE BOX. If there were instructions, or a receipt (as with the other portion of the order), or mounting hardware, or nuts, or blots, or washers, they've all fallen out during shipment. Even without the receiver-made-punched-out-holes, the box evidently had hand holes cut-out so it would be easy to carry; anything that didn't fall out from the receiver made holes might have escaped through the hand holes.I'm very disappointed. Rather than try to deal with the manufacturer or Amazon, tomorrow I'll drive into town to see if the dealer can tell me what I need and if he can get it for me. Overall, this is going to cost me more than what I anticipated saving by ordering online, take more time, and require about 50 miles of driving.Interestingly, the ball mount and tow adapter have provisions for leaving feedback about Packaging online; the receiver does not. I doubt that the manufacturer would want his product associated with this type of feedback - about packaging.UPDATE 21 April 2012: Received email this morning from Crissy at Trends-Auto, apologizing for condition of shipment, direction to website having installation instructions, and offer to ship missing parts needed for installation of receiver. This coming less than 16 hours after having written them. Exactly how business ought to be done with customer care being of high priority; Trends-Auto is correcting a problem created by the shipper, advocating for the satisfaction of their customer.

The Curt class IV hitch is a solid receiver. It was a perfect fit for my Dodge Ram. The installation time was very quick.
