These pressure cookers are awesome
By Rich
I have two of these pressure cookers, the 2.5 L frying pan and a 6L pot and I use these routinely, especially the frying pan. When I get home from work, I can fry chicken in about 10 minutes from the time it hits the grease.I 'steam' potatoes (peeled and quartered) for 5-10 minutes, then use the cooked potatoes for mashed potatoes. Since they have never been immersed in water, they have the absolute maximum of flavor and nutrients. Everybody raves about these mashed potatoes, especially if they are made with something like Klondike potatoes. It just about as fast using the pressure cooker as it is to make instant mashed potatoes in the microwave.I cook pot roast, chicken cacciatorre, stews, soups and especially bean dishes and brown rice. I turn the heat up to high until the second ring is exposed and then turn the burner down to the absolute minimum. It really does save a considerable about of energy and time. If you have a family of 4, get the 2.5 L frying pan. You'll never regret it.

This is a perfect size for a small family/single/couple
By Linda
This is my FOURTH K-R Pressure Cooker. I bought this one because it's such a great size for smaller meals/vegetables/soups. Also I really love the Duromatic Top®, it's a real improvement over the older style as it is so much easier to read the markings at a distance and it is effortless to release the pressure as you can just rotate the knob and walk away. I just love cooking in my pressure cookers.

Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker and customer service are top notch!
By Naomi
This is my third Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Top pressure cooker -- I also have a 5 and 7.4 L, both of which I've had for a couple of years now and absolutely LOVE! I bought this 3.75 L unit for cooking smaller portions and to be able to use multiple smaller units at one time, if need be. Right from first use, while totally functional, I found this unit to require higher temperature setting to maintain high pressure (double line) and constant adjustments -- the window/threshold between just at double line and over pressure (causing to release) was very, very narrow. If I'd lower the temp, then there is just enough vapor escape (I'm talking literally a fine wisp) that it falls below double line after a bit and I'd have to raise the temp back up again. All this constant babysitting was enough to drive me absolutely nuts. I've not had this issue with my other two units (or two more that my boyfriend has) and I thought it totally defeated the purpose to get a smaller unit that required higher temp to sustain high pressure. I finally attributed it to the slightest of vapor leak that was barely visible at near high pressure. After attempts to tighten the main valve screw myself did not correct the issue, I contacted Kuhn Rikon customer service. They had me first run a couple of tests to determine if the failure was in the safety release valve -- it was not. They then had me ship the unit to their repair center in Northern CA (they paid for shipping). Their repair guy could not find an obvious issue. :(. I explained to them again over the phone that the issue is not an obvious one and that based from my own experience with my other KR cookers, this one, operates "fine," just not at 100%, due, I thought, because of a barely noticeable pressure leak. I did not want to return the unit for a refund -- I wanted them to be able to correct the issue because I REALLY wanted to be able to use and love this unit just like my other KR PCs. They ended up replacing the main valve and housing, tested it, and shipped it back. I just tested/used it ... SUCCESS! No more fine wisps of vapor. This unit works just as beautifully as my other two! I'm over the moon happy with it and the customer service at Kuhn Rikon was awesome. I shall continue to sing the praises for the KR PCs, but now their customer services, too!
