Good product for NEW installation, not replacement.
By John C.
Used this unit to replace a 10" Nutone unit which was 54 years old, but better engineered and still working, but I would have had to totally remove it and clean prime and spray paint it, which I had done previously, about 15 and 30 years ago. It would have meant less work and re-engineering. The old unit had the junction box for the pull chain and plug, on the lower left and the junction box was engineered to fit in a 90 degree corner. The new unit has a large junction box, located on the bottom of the fan housing and I have no doubt that it will "grease up" more rapidly. I had to alter and reduce the size of the junction box, to make it fit properly. I think that I will keep and recondition the old unit during the Summer, should this new one give me problems. The new unit has a plastic cover which prevents the use of a magnetic cover during the winter, to prevent heat from escaping and cold air from entering. I will have to remove the magnets and install velcro.I also had to install a pull chain switch, in place of that which was provided and could not be used, because of fit. Fortunatlely I also just installed a new range hood.

Good Product
By Lincster45
We use this with an external thermostat for auxiliary cooling in a transmitter building, it's well built and easy to install. The building is air conditioned, and this and another like it are back-ups should the AC fail.
